There is one fabric separation on the bottom of his left foot. However, there is additional fabric beneath the patch. The rabbit came to me with the separation and it hasn’t gotten bigger over the years. His body is jointed and can either sit or stand. February 14" We were able to track down some facts about Mary. She was(as indicated on her handiwork) born February 14. 1793 to Alexander& Elizabeth(McNair) Erskine. She married Captain Thomas Lennox April 20, 1820. We were told that the bedding and bed was made for a daughter(we cannot confirm that- however, one of the doll sheets is marked"Georgianna Lennox" and what appears to be"A 2" age 2? Mary now rests with her husband in Sheepscot Cemetery. Newcastle, Lincoln County, Maine. A picture of their grave site- along with Mary's date of passing(1878) and age(85) is shown in the listing. A WONDERFUL FIND! The bed is about 20 inches long; about 9.75 inches wide; about 8 inches tall(at head board)we think walnut. But cannot tell with certainty. The pieces are loose, and could be reglued. The foot board is missing. The old string support for the mattress still works fine. There are little marks and scratches here and there, but considering it was crafter well before the Civil War it is in impressive condition. The mattress(with mattress cover Mary made) fits the bed the bed nicely. Soiled. Stains a few tiny holes. The pillow is soiled& stained, but in remarkably good shape. The comforter is also soil& stained…and has little feathers trying to protrude! An extra pillow case and sheet are also soiled and stained, with a few little holes in sheet. The sheet has in black script"Georgianna Y(we think) Lennox A. 2" on it. One sheet is very white, and unsoiled compared to the other items of bedding. It looks newer than all the rest. ANTIQUE HAND-STITCHED DOLL QUILT 4-PATCH PATTERN This darling little quilt was lovingly handmade with fabrics indicating a time period of 1860-1890. The colors are indigo blue. Black& some shirting prints. It has a thin cotton batting& flour sack backing. I wonder if it might have been the first of many quilts made by a young girl of long ago for a special doll? It has been hand-pieced& hand-quilted. I purchased this quilt at a Northwest Missouri estate auction. It is in very good condition with just a few faint stains on the back.

ANTIQUE VINTAGE BABY CHILDS STAR QUILT, ANTIQUE DOLL QUILT
This is an antique baby quilt with a sort of 8 point star design. It is 29" by 38" and is string tied. Because it is string tied rather than quilted to the back it is lumpy and a little out of shape. Other than that it is in pretty good condition with one small 1" open seam. It has not been cleaned and has general soiling and a light stain. Up for auction is a very old. Very interesting handmade doll quilt. The more I look at the fabric pieces, the more I love this quilt! The pattern is traditional, but the fabric pieces are quite special. I’ve taken a lot of photos so you can see for yourself. This cheerful quilt is trimmed in a tiny pink polka dot edging. This lovely doll quilt came from an old country farmhouse in the Northeast and has been stored for many years in a pet-free, smoke-free home. Condition: Very good condition for its age. The fabric is strong with the exception of one triangle of brown fabric. See photo# 12. There is minor fading of one blue triangle. The backing fabric is very strong. Antique Vintage Handmade Flannelette Doll Quilt 14 ½ X 20” Unique!
Up for auction is a very old doll quilt made of flannel or flannelette. I can just picture a mother fashioning this 14 ½ X 20 inch quilt for her little girl’s doll out of left-over flannel. One side is one whole piece of fabric and the other side is pieced in 5 sections. It is hand tied with coral colored floss. I have taken pictures indoors and out. In natural light to try to give you a true color. The background is gray with a cream print, which actually looks more ecru than cream. There are some age"shadows" more than spots, which some people say gives age character) but they are not pronounced as the print is more of an ecru color than what shows in the photos. 20 Pieces Of Used Turkey Red Fabric Circa 1860 There are 26 pieces of generally similarly sized and shaped turkey red fabric. They measure on average approximately 10" on the long straight side. 10 1/2" on the longest side, 5" on the 3rd side, and 1 1/2" on the shortest side. These pieces are unused. We rescued this fabric from what was going to be a really ugly quilt if the rest of the cut pieces are any indication. It is simply rescued fabric that is 150+ years old and is still strong and useable. It would be great for repairing red& green on white quilts. These pieces do not have any rips. Stains, or tears. 5 Remnant Pieces Of Unused Black& White Shirting Fabric Circa 1900 None Of The Pieces Is Made Up Of 2 Pieces Sewn Together These Are Irregularly Shaped Pieces As Shown In The Last Photo. The Largest Piece Measures Approx 26" Long x 18 1/2" Wide At Its Longest And Widest. The Smallest Piece Is 13" x 9" There are no sewing needle tracks. No quilting marks, and no holes from ties from a comfort. This is remnant fabric that is 100+ years old and is still strong and useable. It would be great for repairing early period quilts or making or trimming doll clothes. The fabric is strong and not dried out or rotted. I do not see any rips. Stains, spots, or tears. 19 Pieces Of Used Indigo& White Fabric Circa 1880 Rescued From A Period Quilt Top That Had Condition Issues But Had Not Been Quilted There are 19 pieces of generally similarly sized and shaped fabric. Each pieces measures on average approximately 5 1/8" square. Each piece has a 1/4" to a 1/2" seam allowance parallel to each edge. I have not counted that seam allowance in the measurements above. On each piece between 1/4" to 1/2" from the edges there is a line of sewing machine needle marks. We rescued this fabric from a period quilt top which had major condition issues. This fabric was not quilted nor does it have holes from ties. It is simply rescued fabric that is 130+ years old and is still strong and useable. Antique baby or doll quilt, crazy quilt, silks, velvets, embroidery
This beautiful antique(I am guessing victorian because of the silks and velvets) is a small baby quilt or doll quilt. Done in the crazy quilt style. It appears that each piece of scrap was hand-stitched to the green/pink cotton backing. There are several hand embroidered details and you can see the tiny delicate hand stitched that hold the piece together. One edge appears to have a machine stitch. The colors of the quilt are a little warmer/dark than my images, I just wanted the details to be visible. I took the images in day light. Even the back is really beautiful cotton. There are velvets, silks, satins and wools. A few pieces are threadworn and a wool has some moth holes, but it adds to the delicate beauty of this piece. The entire piece is covered in a tiny 3/4" grid quilting. Expertly hand quilted at an average of 7-8 stitches per inch but a couple spots with 10-11 stitches per inch. Hand bound in a turkey red/yellow printed binding. It measures 33" x 32" This piece has popping in all of the red pieces. From a portion of the print that had a caustic iron added in the dye, a few tiny tears, spotting, one thinning hole, one hole repair, and binding wear as shown in photo's. Antique Patchwork Doll Quilt- Brown& Blue Tumbling Blocks Made for a country doll. This sweet doll's quilt was all hand stitched from a quilt piece dating to the mid 19th century. All cotton patchwork on the front and a single piece of cotton cloth was used on the back. Fabric colors of browns and blues in various printed patterns of the period including stripes. Florals, plaid, dots, conversation prints, seaweed. Fabric was cut into diamond shapes then stitched into rows and form a tumbling block pattern; pieces may have been left over from a larger quilt project. Plain white edging. Measures about 9 3/8 inches x 18 3/4 inches. Clean. Fabric has some fading and there are a few light stains on the back. Primitive Doll *Mrs Cat* Reverseable Antique Quilt dress. 17 inches
Mrs Cat measures 17 inches long. I made her from muslin. Then painted, stained, and sanded her. I stitched her eyes and used a piece of quilt for her nose. Her whiskers are stained thread. I made her dress from a wonderful stained antique quilt. The pieces are so nice that I had a hard time deciding which ones to use so I will let you decide! If you want to display the back of her dress just turn it around! The bell is attached with a rusty pin; easily removed to attach to whatever side you want! Second picture is back of dress. Hand appliqued over dyed green and double pink flowers on a vanilla background. Chain quilting and leaves are thought the background. Amazingly hand quilted at 11-12 stitches per inch. Hand bound in a new off white binding. Cotton seed visible in the batting. Measures 45" x 31" This quilt is in good condition. There are 3 flowers with light thinning and fading. 3 tiny loose applique spots, a rice size age spot, one pinhole, and a few tiny pops as shown in photos. Great for a doll. Antique vintage hand made baby or doll quilt nursery rhyme embroidery folk art
This is a beautiful hand made baby quilt fully embroidered with nursery rhyme stories. It has a white cover and the squares each have an embroidered picture from a famous nursery rhyme in red. It measure 21" by 17" and is cute enough for a wall hanging in your baby's nursery. It has been in a cedar chest for a while and has that old cedar smell but is is light and should air out easily. It is made from a very soft cotton. It looks very clean. There are a few tiny spots and they are pin hole small. This is a really sweet old quilt and a lovely piece of folk art as well. This is a wonderful heirloom piece made of 1930-40s cotton feedsack prints. This lovely gem is the FAN pattern entirely hand pieced and hand quilted. The hand quilting is very nice.I have attempted to show the hand quilting. This quilt is in real nice condition for its age there are no stains. Antique Miniature or Doll Quilt in the unusual Flying Crow pattern. Constructed of cotton fabrics.Including Chrome Yellow calico and white ground Shirtings with black motifs. Hand pieced. No batting or quilting. Edging is machine stitched. Some damp staining to the fabrics, visible on the front and back as light tan-this quilt has not been laundered by me, but in my experience with these colors, I feel it could be hand laundered in a mild soap. Antique Vintage Handmade One Patch Doll Quilt Homespun Cloth Child Sewn PA
Antique Handmade One Patch Pattern Doll Quilt found in Pennsylvania. The fabrics date to about 1875-1900. The naive manner in which this little quilt was made would strongly suggest that it was child made for dolly. The little patches are not expertly sewn and the lines of blocks are crooked-making for a delightful folk-art look. Many quilt collectors enjoy having these child made quilts in their collections. The fabrics used are diverse including indigo blue, early Plisse with a small rose print, checked homespun and an early navy polka dot. The backing is a fabulous piece of Garibaldi-style robe print-very unusual to find such a nice bright piece. There is no batting and the quilt is not tied or quilted through. Antique Handmade Doll Quilt in the Jacob's Ladder Pattern dates to about 1880 based on the fabric used. The quilt was found in Pennsylvania. Hand pieced construction of blocks. Then tied with a pale yellow embroidery thread; thin cotton batting. Wonderful example of Double or Cinnamon Pinks cotton printed fabric along with pale grey calico. The backing is a very small cinnamon pink and tan check. Some damp staining with running of the pinks on the backing(see photos) This quilt should never be laundered or dry cleaned-the cinnamon pink dyes are fugitive and are not stable in water or other fluids-they will run or disappear. There are no bad odors. Pretty execution of an unusual pattern. The quilt measures 22" x 23" Please feel free to ask questions.
