Antique Feedsack PINK PATCHWORK QUILT, Hand Sewn
CHERISH EACH DAY& ALL WILL BE OK This antique quilt measures 62" by 74" has some type of square pattern. It may have been made prior to the 1930's. As the fabrics appear older, with regard to color. Quarter sections are shown, to see the details better. The binding is blue& was machine sewn. The hand quilting was done at an even 10-12 spi. The main color is a dusty pink, there are 8" squares. The back is off-white. Most of the fabric is cotton, but there are some that are something else. It has thin cotton batting. It has been washed& lays flat. There are no flaws seen. But there could be something small missed. There are no odors. Priority shipping is $16.00 and I'm always glad to combine shipping. If shipping is much less. I will refund some of the postage. Antique Baby Quilt for Girl, White w/Pink, late 1800's
This is a white baby quilt(44" W x 60" H) from the late 1800's(it was my grandmother's. No exact date) It is lightweight(no batting, just several layers quilted together) white fabric(very smooth cotton) with pink embroidered decorations in each square, and the name"Mary Elizabeth" in the center. The decorations are flowers, birds, and activities(a little sailboat) The quilt is entirely handmade with no snags or tears and has been kept in a smoke-free, pet-free setting, mainly stored away from light, dust, moisture, etc. for years. There are some slight discolorations on the quilt and it is a bit off-white from being so old. I have not attempted to clean these spots out; I feel fairly certain a good cleaning would make it much brighter. This quilt is beautiful and in great condition. Vintage Cotton TEXAS STAR of BETHLEHEM Coverlet Quilt Blanket Pink Antique Woven
This beautiful vintage woven coverlet from the 1930s has been in hiding for a very long time and needs to be seen. Formerly held in a collection and kept in ideal storage conditions this one emerges in superb vintage condition. Nice and clean with the exception of one spot that can be seen in the last photo. Nothing to stop you from enjoying this one. The striking pattern is full of tiny little details that make it most appealing to the eye. The paper tag on one corner is a sale tag from long ago. This coverlet has no sign of a makers tag. The overall size is 78 X 94 inches. This is a very well made and light weight cotton coverlet. Hard to tell which side is the best as it views nicely on both sides. The scalloped border is nicely finished with a square knot type stitched edge. Fine design detailing in the pattern. CONDITION: Just a few ... morethread pulls that are hard to fnd and one spot that looks removable on one corner to worry about. Otherwise. It is in great condition and very soft and strong. It does not appear to have been used much. There are no rips, tears or areas of wear to note. Nice uniform consistency overall with no evidence of thinning or weakness in the fibers. The colors are uniform. The condition of the fabrics is excellent. There is a no odor to this coverlet and it does not appear to have been exposed to smoke. Pets or abuse. It looks as if it has been kept from over exposure to sunlight. It has been very well cared for over the years. It has been carefully stored away from pets and in a smoke free clean environment. This is a beautiful hand appliqued and hand quilted pink roses quilt. There are roses and rose buds in various shades of pink& peach with a touch of yellow& red. The flowers. Buds and leaves are accented with embroidery. There is some slight discoloration on a few of the folds and a tiny stain in the bottom corner of the back(see photo) These may come out with washing(the quilt has been washed before) It's pastel palete gives it a great shabby chic look and it is in wonderful condition. Three very pretty pillows made from a beautiful antique quilt. The hand stitches on this quilt are very nice. I think you can see that in the photos. However. Too many worn spots mean the quilt can't be used. So I've made these pretty pillows to be used as decorations-on your bed or chair, or in a basket. Maybe in a baby's room? Each pillow is about 5" by 5" I take the extra time to box the corners, to give the pillow a nice finished shape. The pillows are stuffed with new fiberfill. And measures 18" long X 10" wide. I think it is for a chair, maybe a head rest? It would be great for use or a pattern for more! It is in good used condition with no holes, rips or tears! Linens should be washed in warm water and gentle detergent with a final cold rinse. Bleach may be used on whites to brighten. Antique linens-use very sparingly& soak. One tablespoon of bleach will sanitize a full wash load. Soaking whites for an hour in detergent& a bit of bleach will help remove stains and then give a gentle wash. Repeated washing sometimes helps lighten stubborn stains with gentle agitation. A 1/5 mix of Fibergard Javex mixed with water and dabbed with a Qtip on tiny spots sometimes helps. Oxy Clean sometimes works wonders but do not use on thin or fine linens. Be careful. Stain removers and rubbing will destroy your vintage linens. Antique fabrics such as lace should Not be washed. It will speed up deterioration. Soak. No agitation. Rust specks: A very good rust remover is Whink. Only available in the USA. Embroidered and crocheted linens need extra gentle care. Launder on gentle cycle only or hand wash. Gentleness will maintain the delicate embroidery stitches. Iron by pressing or gently stretch the damp fabric fo

Antique Baby Quilt - Blue w/Pink Embroidery Flowers - to stack or repurpose
This is such an old baby quilt made by loving hands back around the late 1800s or turn of the century- using the old old cotton muslin(almost looks like homespun) fabrics. It was made in the blue(for everyone hoped for a boy first back then) but'just in case- for they had no way of predetermining the baby's sex' they embroidered the white squares with pink thread in floral patterns. The embroidery was done back in the day when it was common to do a sort of'running' chain stitch type embroidery work and the thread was heavier than embroidery floss. It measures 41" X 49" and has 9 of the embroidered squares which measure about 7 X 8" There is a stain on the top(which may come out with the proper soak) and also I note one hole on the top about nickel size but it doesn't go thru the quilt. It has been laundered ... moreso many times that the embroidery color is almost faded away and the blue is faded as well. The quilting was fine and done in carefully measured 1" squares on the diagonal. Sweet remnant of times past- the baby this was made for has probably already made its journey thru its lifetime and this is left in memory. So. Here it is- well worn, well loved and ready to journey onto someone out there to either use, hang, stack or repurpose into pillows- OR, to add to your collection of old fabrics and embroidery stitches and patterns. Very sweet little piece of 1920's-1930's cotton in a precious overall floral of it's day. The colors are very sweet; a pink. Mint and pale brown on an old tea toned ground. Scale is smaller. This is a salvaged piece so is not perfect but an excellent choice for doll clothing, quilting, restoration etc. Measures ~Strong; has some wear here& there and an aprox 1 1/2 in. age spot towards the bottom; again salvaged& used in it's prior life but a good piece with lots of fabric for projects. Antique quilt in the classic'Wild Goose Chase' pattern. Crisp and clean. Pink and yellow calico criss cross over a blue-green and black calico. It is a harmonious and unusual color combination, and would be a unique addition to a quilt collection or antique Americana decor. The batting is cotton. And the quilt is extremely thin. The back is a green gingham with just a bit of age yellowing. For auction is a quilt top made of 16 blocks sewn together. I believes these blocks to be stamped and then embroidered with x's. The date is unknown to me but is probably vintage. The floss used is a pink that is dark rather than light. The background is off-white muslin. Looking at my pictures there is one block that is smaller than the others. Easy fix: add vintage muslin to small block. Time consuming way: Take the blocks apart. Square them, add vintage muslin to smaller block and sew back together. Adding a nice vintage border would make this top ready to make into a wonderful quilt!

~*~Hello and thank you for looking~*~ I adore this quilt! This quilt is an antique French piquee quilt. From Provence, dating c1880. The front side uses a wonderfully faded floral design, printed on cotton! Lovely warm cream ground with beautiful burgundy pinks! This textile is a dense quilt with heavy cotton batting and is 100% hand stitched and quilted. The opposite side is a heavy cotton, printing on a burgundy/ maroon ground, lovely cream floral design! ~ this quilt has everything that I adore about these textiles, soft faded tones, wonderfully aged! I've freshly laundered this quilt and it's ready to use. The front faded floral side has pale age marks in the body all over the quilt. They are pale, age marks and, in my opinion, add so much charm to the textile. The back is unevenly faded( please see photographs) and the center ... moreof this side has a large faded area. One corner has come unstitched at the edges and can be closed by hand ~ There are a few little holes on the edges, to be expected, however generally it's in lovely condition! Antique Quilt Beautiful Pink & White Rare Pattern
Up for bid is a beautiful antique quilt. I bought this quilt ten yrs ago in an antique store for my daughter's nursery. I used it folded in an antique cabinet and have never laundered it. It is beautifully quilted and the pink is a very pretty color. I believe the pink is old feedsack material, but I am no expert on quilts. I do not know the name of this pattern, but I have never seen another one like this. It does have a few flaws. It has several small rips/holes in three places-one of which does go all the way through the quilt. There is also a few tiny places where the pink fabric is pulling away from the white-this could be tacked quite easily. I tried to take pictures of the three rips/holes. It also has numerous yellow-stains(old water stains? on the back of the quilt. And this discoloration does come through to the front in a few ... moreplaces. I am no expert in laundering or cleaning old quilts. So I will leave any restoration cleaning up to its new owner. I did not have luck photographing these spots, they didn't really show up in the pictures. I tried to take a picture of the largest one-it is the last picture. No doubt this quilt is an appalachian made quilt. And beautifully done. It displays very well. The measurements are approx. 69x78.5. I would think this would fit a twin best, but could be displayed on a full bed, because my bed is queen, and it stretched out across the entire top(see picture) This quilt is being sold as is, and despite it's old age flaws, it is truly a pretty quilt. Skillful workmanship, wonderful use of color and pattern, and great strong, unfaded condition distinguish this circa 1900 Churn Dash or Monkey Wrench scrapbag quilt. Size The quilt measures about 64 x 85 inches. The blocks are 6 1/2 inches with 1 1/4-inch centers and the sashing is 2 1/2 inches wide. Quilting The hand-quilting is excellent. With 7-10 little stitches to the inch. Counting on the top side of the quilt only. The blocks are inset-outlined and then have an overall asterisk motif that creates as charming intersection over the tiny center patch. The triangles of the churn dash are each further inset outlined. And then the sashing is all diagonally quilted in lines spaced about 3/4-inch apart. Construction The quilt is exquisitely hand-pieced. Backing. ... moreBinding& Batting The backing is a gorgeous layered floral with a complex ground and looks quite perfect. The narrow 3/8-inch machine-applied binding is in excellent aged. But strong, flawless condition, save for along the top edge and around one top corner where it has some areas of splitting and fraying The batting is thin and even with a few minor lumps that just feel like the way the batting was laid in. Condition The quilt's condition is excellent: strong. Sturdy, supple and clean. It just has some areas with clusters of light surface stains(all pictured) a block with a tiny patch that's weakened, one shirting that shows the most minor tendering and a funky little surface patch with some stains and surface hole near it. None of these little imperfections turn out to be at all distracting in the context of this richly varied scrapbag and excellent workmanship. Antique Vintage LONE STAR Quilt Block c.1850-70. CIVIL WAR ERA This gorgeous primitive antique is 15 inches square or 21.5 inches on the diagonal. Gorgeous and RARE fabrics of PINK. BROWN and WHITE STRIPE(pix#6) with Picotage(mini-dots) an early FUGITIVE PURPLE on white(see Pix#5) and an off-white cotton fabric for background, were used to make this block. See close-up pix. Exceptionally strong and sturdy with no holes. Loose seams, or major stains. There is a gray mark shown in pix#11 and some other very light age/water spots. Two sides have stitch evidence from where this block was removed from a quilt top. The back shows the tiniest seams of 1/16 to 1/8 inches shown in the last pix. EXCEPTIONALLY WELL STITCHED. Lg Antique Civil War Era Quilt Top Rob Peter to Pay Paul Variation Double Pink
This is a very old quilt top with double-pink fabric and also yellow fabric with a print that could be as far back as the 1860s. Although both the pink and the yellow were also often used together well into the 1880s. The main body of the top with the"Robbing Peter to Pay Paul" design is all hand-pieced, but the fancy triple sashing is machine sewn. The sewing machine came into popular use around 1880, but wealthier families had sewing machines as early as the 1860s. The size of this quilt top is quite large for the average beds of that time. But the more well-off people had larger beds and also were able to purchase enough fabric to make an entire quilt top like this. It's very likely that this top was made between 1860s and 1880s. To find a top of this size and age is quite rare. This top has not been washed and there are ... morelight spots throughout the quilt. There are a few small ones that are darker, but this may be age spotting of the sizing still in the fabric. The spots may come out when the top is cleaned or washed, along with the sizing. This quilt top lies fairly flat. But would need a little easing as it is being quilted. The colors are most true in the close-up photos. It measures a generous 88" x 84" and is very beautiful. Since I am selling this for a friend. I must include a reasonable reserve of under $70. This piece of quilt history will be shipped in a water proof shipping bag via USPS Parcel Select. ANTIQUE PINK & WHITE EARLY 20th C FOLK ART STAR QUILT AAFA
This antique. Cheery quilt hails most likely from around 1930-1940’s. I do not believe it was ever red and white– I’m sure it was always rose and white in keeping with what I’m pretty sure is it’s time period. Interesting note– the quilting within each star creates a second pattern. Giving the star a neat effect. Sweet and full of charm and happiness. It is in very good structural shape, but does have a light stain in one area that encompases about eight of the white hexagons. I did wash it after taking the pics and most of it came out so that it is now much harder to spot, but it does remain. Perhaps a 2nd washing would do it but I don't want to horse around with it for such a slight discoloration. It still makes a great porch or patio quilt for those chilly(42 here today) summer nights. Size is72” by 66.5” The back is made up of 4 uneven ... morepieces, two being skinny sections along one border. There are slightly yellowed fold lines on back.
