Offered is a sweet little kitty pillow made from an awesome 1880s crazy quilt that has some amazing embroidery and hand painting.more goodies will be coming from this quilt very soon! This sweetie measures approximately 15 inches tall by about 11 inches across at the widest bottom part. It is plumped with new premium fiberfil and the back is from the backing of this same crazy quilt. The backing is a deep wine colored fabric. I believe taffeta, but maybe a heavier silk.just not sure. What makes this fabric so interesting is that it has white raised intertwining circles which appear to be painted or stenciled. This kitty proudly showcases some large white pond lilies with their green lily pads. The embroidery is detailed and lovely.there are even some gold chenille worked stamens. I've tied a black velvet ribbon around the kitty's neck and have added a beautiful butterfly pin.easily removable if you wish to wear it or give it as a gift. Antique Hand Stitched Christmas Quilt - 1750 - Waynesburg, PA - L@@K!
Thanks for looking! Up for bids is an awesome antique quilt handstitched in Waynesburg. Pennsylvania c. 1750. Commonly called a"Christmas Quilt" because of the green and red color scheme. Handed down through the family for 250 years! Comes with handwritten note from 1900 and another one from 2000 tracing the lineage of the quilt. I prefer not to reveal the names of the family members but I will include it with the quilt. Measures 80" L x 76" W. Has some wear on the edges, not bad though. Does need a washing, has some light staining. I think it will come out with Oxi-Clean or Tide but I don't know much about quilts so I don't want to wash it. I took close-up pictures of the stitching. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a quilt of this age. It still amazes me that this was made back before the USA was ... morea country! CHRISTMAS IN JULY Since I have such a great time creating old doorknob tucks. I figured a little Christmas tree would be a grand idea! I just love Christmas and anything I can think of is usually adapted and created.here goes! For the base, I've used an OLD/VINTAGE(not appropriate to say"antique" since it really isn't quite old enough, close but not quite) oval shaped rusty metal doorknob. I've wrapped a bit of dirty cheesecloth around the stem and tied on a round metal rimmed hang tag that I've embellished with hand stamped"PRIM" lettering. Securely fastened to the top of the knob is a little tree I've fashioned from an antique crazy quilt, richly embroidered. It reminds me of garland and tinsel, and I know the original maker would be pleased for this happy rescue and upcycle, which measures approx.7"T ... moreX 3.W! An absolute treasure of an antique patchwork memory quilt Merry Christmas 1902 and many other wonderful squares put to together this keepsake. It is in very decent as found shape. There is some age wear shown in pics specifically the sunflower leaves and a couple more patches. Age shows on back but no holes or tears anywhere through the quilt. 7" Primitive Country Christmas Pillow From Antique Quilt
With Christmas just around the corner I decided to make this little primitive pillow with a Christmas tree on the front. Made from an antique quilt piece. The tree has been hand sewn on an old piece of wool. The tree looks so prim and I have aged it a little more with a coffee and vanilla stain. Then I have sewn on little rusty bells and added some German Glass Glitter. The backing of the pillow is a piece of homespun and I tied a piece of Jute at the top. Six Vintage Antique Crazy Quilt Small Stockings for Christmas Tree Decorations
Here are six one-of-a kind Christmas stockings made from pieces from antique Turn of the Century crazy quilts. The quilt pieces came from damaged quilts or I never would have cut them. I like to find ways to utilize as much of the antique quilts as I can so people can still enjoy the beautiful handwork. These measure about 4 1/2" tall and all have loops so that they can be hung on a Christmas tree or along a mantel. It's fun to stuff these with special little gifts. Candy canes, or even cash. They could also be used as a gift for friends or office co-workers. This is a tradition in our family. To hang these on the tree, filled with candy and cash, as extra little gifts for the kids(and adults) to search for. Antique Handmade Quilt Christmas Colors
My grandmother had a large house with lots of bedrooms some of which were seldom ever used and this quilt came from one of them. She called this a Christmas quilt maybe because of the colors and the abstract pine tree design but not really sure. I do not know how old it is but it is definitely hand made and has some age to it. The colors are good but somewhat faded and the white fabric has yellowed slightly. Overall it is in really good condition with only two small tears on the back and a seam on the front that needs to be sewn. There is a stain on the back which does not go through to the front and may came out in the laundry. I opted not to have it cleaned as I am not sure how to care for an antique quilt. The size is 80"x92" it was photographed over a queen size bed. The red and green square is 12"x12"

Antique Quilt Top Chimney Sweep Blocks Beautiful Christmas Calico Sashing in Poison Green with Tiny Pine Trees This top is beautiful and the fabrics are in outstanding condition with a wonderful selection of antique fabrics in madder browns. Turkey reds and cinnamon pinks. Beautifully hand pieced and lays nice and flat. Ends are not frayed. A few sections of the sashing have been stitched by treadle machine. All the fabrics are nice and crisp and the colors are rich and un-faded. Any appearance of fading is due to the room lighting. Pattern reference can be found in Barbara Brackman's Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns. 3266, page 393, Chimney Sweep. All fabrics are 100% Cotton. The overall size is 74" X 88" inches. There are a total of 42 blocks measuring 9- 1/2 inches each. Each block is made of 34 pieces. It has been hand ... morepieced at 12 TINY stitches per inch(counted top side only) Some areas of the sashing have been sewn by treadle machine. CONDITION: This quilt top is in excellent condition. One block has major soiling and another has some spots in the muslin pieces. The rest of the top has light soiling usually seen in antique tops but overall looks clean to the eye. One small 1" inch area on the sashing has color loss as something soiled the spot and is causing the color to begin the fading process usually seen in old dyed fabrics. Antique Pieced Jacob's Ladder Turkey Red White Quilt 72 by 76 Christmas Xmas
Great Jacob's Ladder pieced quilt in good condition. Clean. Strong, and ready for gentle use, to display, or to add to your collection. I would date the quilt to the early 20th century, but I am NOT an expert. 1920-1940? The quilt shows a little bit of fading. Only really noticed where two different red fabrics are joined. I note a little bleed of red stain turning a few white areas pale, pale pink. I found one popped seam and a few places where quilting was popped. No stains that I found. The piecing is done by hand. The quilt is quilted by hand in lines about 1 inch apart. Stitches are about 6-7 per inch. Measuring on the top side only. The quilt is 72" by 76" and in a box weighs 4-5 lbs. The batting is medium weight. The backing is white. Please look carefully at the photos. And contact me if you have questions.
