Vintage Antique Log Cabin Quilt Hand Pieced Beautiful Colors
Here we have a beautiful log cabin quilt with wonderful colors and a stunning pattern. I think the it dates to the teens or twenties. The fabrics are all light weight wools and cotton prints. It measures app. 80" x 82" overall. The pieces are all hand sewn and it has not been top quilted. The backing is a great paisley print and it feels like there is no batting inside. There are several tiny holes throughout the quilt. I have photographed the worst damage. The quilt is still vis ually stunning. The s titch ing is strong and it is holding together well. Amish Log Cabin Quilt Barnraising pattern
This scrumptious log cabin quilt measures 74 x 74 inches and the fabric is a buttery cotton sateen. The person I bought it from said she got it at an estate auction in Ohio. And that dealer said it was Amish. Sewn with black thread, which you can see on the yellow backing. The first photo is an actual scan of the quilt. Why would you want this quilt? It has exceptional texture in the variety of the yellow fabrics used. It is dramatic and displays beautifully. Not because it's"perfect. because it isn't. There is damage to the black fabric, in the center, along fold lines, and at the border. There is also a 9 by 9 inch brown stain on the back, which does not go through to the front. Antique Quilt LOG CABIN Barn Raising Childs HAP c1880 Feather Stitch Embroidery
Lancaster Pennsylvania- c.1880's Childs Quilt An Early Log Cabin Barn Raising Hap Quilt Embroidered with Feather Stitching Overall Completly Handmade DESCRIPTION An outstanding example of a Late 19th or Early 20th Century Lancaster County Pennsylvania antique quilt. Completly handstitched there is no machine work anywhere on this beauty. The pattern is Log Cabin Barn Raising. A beautifully pieced pattern in white and pink with small center squares of burgundy velvet. All the fabrics are cotton. It is a HAP quilt, thickly batted and tied down at regular intervals with a rose colored floss to hold that heavy batting in place. It is a small quilt made for a child to keep warm at night. This charming antique quilt has the added opulent touch of pink hand embroidery'Turkey Track or Feather' stitching covering each and every'log' ... moreand also around the wide triangular shaped border decoration. An amazing quilt when you think about the amount of handwork. each piece was folded and stitched by hand and then each seam carefully covered with this delighful hand embroidery. Every line of embroidery skillfully and neatly worked. This is a real beauty. The reverse is also quite interesting. Done in the traditional pattern of BARS. The back of the quilt alternates between a plain white and an apricot background color with a printed pattern of dark flower pots and faint white vines or trees growing upward. This printed fabric on the reverse is quite faded and the'trees or vines' are difficult to see. Also, the mordant used to set the dye to print the tiny black flower pot designs had a great deal of iron in it causing the'pots' to wear away(deteriorate) here and there, a common occurence in early fabrics. No other loss of fabric anywhere on the quilt this only affects some of the black flower pots. The quilt is bound with the same apricot printed fabric and again. All turned and stitched by hand. Superb 1870's antique Log Cabin Courthouse Steps quilt Charleston County, SC
Really belongs in a museum. One of those"damaged beauty" quilts I so love, made C. 1870's by an expert quilter, all is by hand in neat, straight 12 SPI stitchery, a lady who was creative as well as adroit in the art of quilting. All cotton, pieced, a very thin quilt, pattern is"Courthouse Steps" within the Log Cabin family, measures 86" x 76" Color combination is outstanding: indigo calico with small white flowers, lt. green calico with small white flowers, with the points of each step sequence set with one small square of light blue calico with small white flowers. Backing is a white cotton and is in pretty good shape, with normal wear and a little fragility around some of the edges(stabilizing netting would work here; also a few minor very small holes. This is one of those quilts one doesn't quite know ... morewhat to do about ~ let it live out its life as is, on a wall or antique bed(please don't wrap yourself up in it! or repair it using period fabric. Stablizing netting has been sewn all around the binding, but for approx. 2.5- 3" all around most of quilt from binding inward, we have damage. There are also a few small narrow"logs" that are shredding; so we're left with the second option, that of cutting off the damage all around the outside of quilt(probably about 2.5" all around) and re-binding it in period fabric. Or, of course, if you're a purist, the piece could be framed and would be preserved forever. Border damage aside, we have an extraordinary quilt here and an outstanding bit of Southern folk art, worthy of being preserved. Until you buy it, it has a place of honor in my living room, so I can enjoy it for at least a while. 1920-1930s LOG CABIN QUILT~CRISP & UNWASHED~GREAT FEEDSACK/DRESS/SHIRTING FABRIC
Offered is a wonderful log cabin quilt which I would date from about 1920 to 1930s. This thin quilt is in great vintage condition. Crisp and appears to never having been washed. It measures approximately 74 inches by 74 inches and is completely hand pieced. This quilt is hand quilted with approximately 6 to 7 precise stitches per inch. The cabin strips are done with a wonderful variety of fabrics.from mourning prints to shirting and lovely dress fabrics. The strips are about 1 inch wide and all are meticulously hand pieced. I absolutely love the back of this quilt! It is a so sweet red with a small black floral print whole cloth. Which has also been hand pieced together. The narrow separate red binding is both hand stitched onto the front and also to the back The backing is in good condition with only a very slight fading along the fold lines ... morewhere it has been stored. The binding is in extremely good condition with no fraying or any other problems seen. The front of the quilt is in overall very fine condition. The colors are bright and strong and even. There is an occasional light age spot but visually it all seems to blend in together.if you can even find them! There are no stains. Tears, or fabric pops. I have not laundered this quilt. I will leave that up for the new owner to do, if you feel it needs it. The quilt does not have any unpleasant odors and will come to you from a smoke free home. 19th C Antique Log Cabin Quilt. Unusual Variation with Tiny Strips. Please scroll down for additional photos. Size is approximately 74 inches by 90 inches. Beautiful example of the classic Log Cabin pattern. But this one has very small logs and an unusual setting of the blocks–kind of a cross between the Barn Raising and Streak of Lightning variations. The quilt also has an unusual zig-zag border, a superlative addition! The 5-inch blo cks are made with t eeny strips of gorgeous 1 9th century fabrics with double pink inch-square centers. The close hand quilting is very hard to see and it is somewhat camouflaged by the fabric on the back. Quilt pattern does not follow the‘logs’ but is executed in randomly placed straight parallel lines about ½ to ¾ inch apart all over the quilt. The direction of the lines changes every 6 to 8 inches. ... moreThis blue backing fabric is turned to the front for a neat and tidy ¼-inch binding. The batting is probably cotton. Antique Log Cabin Childrens Quilt & Pillow Very Old Primitive Dark 1900s
This quilt is very old. Purchased from an old estate approximately 25 years ago and the elderly folks were in their 80's that had passed away. The quilt is a log cabin style and the photo's showing the moth holes are taken in close up range so not really as large as they seem but wanted to show you the damage so you were aware that it was there. I will lint brush these before they ship. They do have a musty odor from old home. They had it when I purchased and still have it. They have been in a trunk. The quilt measures 66" long x 38 1/2" wide and comes with a very old tattered crows stitched baby pillow.Yellowed with age. The pillow is 9 1/2" X 6" Wide. You are purchasing a No Return Item so please know these are very old items. Flawed and well aged. A sweet little white plush wool felt rabbit handstitched on a pillow made from an early 1900 Log Cabin quilt. It measures 8"x8" and backed with weavers cloth. Vintage Quilt Blue White Cream Pieced Log Cabin Hand Quilted Large
You are bidding on a vintage log cabin pieced quilt that has been hand quilted. Quilt has all colors of blue with solids a couple of plaids and calicos. Centers are all navy blue. The backing is a light blue stripe. This is shown on a Queen bed. Measures approx 92 x 89 Edge all around is a nice strip design that sets off the log cabin blocks. This has been used by me as a table cloth and not on a bed. It is in wonderful condition for its age. Happy to answer questions. Would say it is about medium weight. Always a smoke free home.

Antique Log Cabin - Barn Raising Pattern Quilt, - Item #1501124.
A great old Log Cabin quilt done in the Barn Raising pattern from the civil war period. This is marvelous old quilt completed in the 1880's with a great assortment of 100% cotton fabrics from 1860's through the 1880's used to make the log cabin blocks. The quilt is machine pieced and tied with embroidery thread. It has a cotton batting and a cinnamon pink woven look backing fabric. It has 5 blocks with damages of small tears. Stains and fading(see pic#3) One edge of the quilt also has damages or tears. The worst tears are shown in picture#4. The backing fabric also has a few small stains and a few small tears in the fabric. This is still a striking quilt when on display inspite of the damages and stains.

This beautiful miniature quilt was made in 1991 and is signed on the back"Yeoman 1991" When I acquired it several years ago I was told the quilter was from somewhere in the midwest. I don't know for sure where. The quilt measures approximately 13" wide by 18" long. It's beautifully machine pieced and the hand quilting is excellent. The colors are vibrant with no fading. The quilt is in excellent condition with no imperfections such as holes or tears. It is a wonderful piece of work and would be a nice addition to a miniature quilt collection or just adorn a wall to add a warm feel to your home.

This is a very pretty Log Cabin quilt measuring 71" square. It is not in perfect condition. But is in very usable, good condition, clean and with very little fading. There is some wear here and there on some of the fabrics, but not that much and those fabrics are still intact and overall, the quilt is made of quite sturdy materials. There are also a few small snag holes here and there, again nothing to write home about, so to speak. But I did want to mention that. This quilt has been cut down and rebound with a sturdy red fabric. The backing is a nice light pink striped fabric in good condition. I think this would make a great quilt for a single bed. I found this as a quilt top from an old local estate in the heart of Amish Country. Berlin, Ohio. I had a master quilter make the quilt for me(I will supply the quilter's name to the purchaser) and once you've seen the close up pictures, you'll agree that is simply beautiful. This pattern is actually called"Capital Steps" a variation of the Log Cabin pattern. There are fabrics in this quilt that span a generation, some dating from 1860, up ... moreto 1890. The colors are as vibrant as ever ~ there are indigo blues, cadet blues, cranbery prints, black with white prints, greens, browns& cinnamons. There are plaids& paislies, checks& florals. Each strip of fabric measures only 1" wide, all pieced completely by hand. The back of the quilt is all one piece, made with bleached muslin. It has a medium weight batting. This quilt is a nice size measuring 93" x 83" it is in pristine condition ~ There are no stains. No rips or tears, etc. I have several other log cabin quilts in my personal collection that were quilted in the ditch but after I saw her quilting, I had her quilt straight through each piece of fabric, just so it could be shown off. I'm so glad I did. It looks great with 9 spi. This quilt is definitely a show stopper! The quilter used two different techniques-some of the squares are made with amazingly thin logs in just two prints. Other squares use slightly larger logs in a variety of fabrics. The combination is quite stunning. The back is a classic patchwork. I love that the binding is Purple, applied on both sides. 74" x 66" This quilt has rarely been used. It's in Excellent condition. This Auction is for A Handmade Log Cabin Quilt. Measures approx. 61 inches X 73 inches. Entirely pieced together with hand stitching. Then top stitched quilted at 6-7 stitches per inch. This lovely oldie does not have any rips. Shattering or tears. I did find one spot that appears to be a color transfer near binding( shown in pictures ~ red transfer of color) Only machine work is the binding that was attached by treadle and then turned over and stitched by hand. Interior has a lofty generous amount of batting. Backing is a natural colored muslin. Please refer to pictures for further details. Quilt has not been laundered. Any questions just ask.

Wow. What an amazing log cabin pattern this is with a sunshine shadow design. With the use of light and dark fabrics an X pattern is created. There's assorted fabrics and bars pattern on back. A lot of work went into the making to give this graphic illusion. There's a mix of feedsack and other fabrics. I love the border with white polka dots on red. The quilt measures a generous 84 x 83 inches. Hand quilted 5 stitches per inch. Edges are turned and hand sewn. Batting is thin. Some age spotting. Crisp. Never used or washed. You're looking at 3/4 of a fab and funky and happy and folky Log Cabin"Barn Raising" quilt top(still with foundation on back side) that is an unusual size. 42" x 75" and was probably intended as a wall hanging or on back of couch or at foot of bed to brighten up the room, or for a day bed, miraculously still crisp and clean and dating to the 1940's. By hand. Lots of reds, lots of feed sack material, please note the feed sack material w/writing on it in last pic. I can't find even one flaw or bit of dirt or damage. In one of the pics is a bit of fringe peeking out from a throw underneath. From the"Dark Corners" area of Greenville County, S.C. where the moonshiners hung out until about the 1950's when revenue agents put an end to most of the stills. STURDY cotton 1880's barn raising log cabin quilt top is hand pieced, with a variety of gorgeous 19th century fabrics. This piece consists of back blocks hand stitched together(two layers) so it could easily be backed and/bound to be used as a lightweight finished bed cover. The center postage stamp/square pieces(in the center of all of the strips) measures a mere 3/4" per side. It measures 72" X 94" and is in MINT. Washed condition, with no spots or wear. Antique quilt top Shadow and Light Log Cabin Lancaster Blue
In great condition. I didn't find any bad fabric or tears or holes, just a couple of tiny brown spots. Colors are bright and fabric is strong. Fabrics from the 1890's or earlier and the Lancaster blues are really outstanding. Machine pieced. Measures 82" by 83" I try to find any defects but I can't guarentee I'll see them all. No returns unless item is not as described. This is an older piece and therefor is no longer perfect as the day it was made. Save on combined shipping. SALE! Very Old Hand Pieced Sewn Log Cabin Blocks Quilt Top This is very very old. From an estate, not sure of its exact age. This is a great old scrap quilt. Tons of different fabrics. Excellent placement of lights and darks for overall effect! I know there are some civil war era fabrics in it. The outside blue borders have been machine sewed on. Everything else is hand sewn. This is the top only. I don't know if it was ever quilted. There are some gorgeous cheddars. Shirtings, etc in there. There are 5 blocks that have holes. Probably from moths, I have added them and am pointing to the damage in each one, so please look carefully. Those are the last 5 pictures. The other block pictures are just fabrics that are really neat! I've added one picture of the back. So you can enlarge it to see the stitching, it's the last photo. This is an antique entirely handmade quilt. It is made in the log cabin pattern style. This quilt measures app. 78" wide by 90" long. The colorful. Center log cabin section measures 64" by 74" This quilt is made up of pieces arranged out of mostly colorful plaid fabric. The main color of this quilt is blue. The back of this quilt and the border are also blue. This quilt is from a nonsmoking home. This quilt has batting and the 3 layers have been pinned together. This quilt is very old but in good condition for it age. There are some dirt spots on this quilt that may come off with soaking. I took several pictures of this quilt. I saw wear on 24 blocks. Most of the wear is minimal meaning tiny tears here and there. I have shown the"worst" of the wear. No holes or tears that go all the way through. No stains. All in all. This quilt is in in excellent antique vintage condition! Please keep in mind that these are vintage and antique quilts. So there may be some small loose seams and some age related stains. Antique LOG CABIN Quilt - Hand Pieced - Early 1900's - Wools & Satins 80 by 84"
This outstanding Log Cabin quilt is from the early 1900's and was pieced by hand. It has a lovely assortment of antique fabrics that include gabardine wool. Satin, cotton and what I believe is early rayon. The only problems I have found a few small rain drop size moth holes and a bit of light color bleed around the edges of a few of the red fabrics. It is not worn or faded and the fabrics are NOT fragile. It may never have been used. There is a thin fabric inside that the blocks were stitch to and then the soft grey flannel backing was added. It is a tied quilt without batting. It is clean. odor free and 80 by 84 inches. The last photo was taken on a queen size bed. Up for auction is a vintage. Hand sewn, log cabin, patchwork quilt. It measures 84 inches by 64 inches. The colors on the front of this quilt are a lovely gray, rust, green, blue, and red. The back is a gray pin stripe. I believe that the material is made out of wool and flannel and is very heavy. Amazing Antique Log Cabin Quilt Bobbin Lace 1870's 4140 pieces over 50 fabrics
Log Cabin Summer Quilt What an amazing piece of history. Great find showing many different fabrics, mostly velvets, suede, and silks. I counted over 50 fabrics and estimate about 75 total. Made of about 4400 pieces total. The edge is 3 1/2" bobbin lace with gold thread and is mostly in tact with a few areas that have come apart. The back is a rare fabric with a golden dragon pattern, with graceful sweeping scrolling lines. This quilt is very vibrant and bright in color with skillful contrasting between rich reds, golds, creams, browns and vibrant blues, to name a few. The square pattern is based on 3" squares, 460 of them, made of 9 smaller pieces 4140 of them. The center of each square is made of 3)5/8" pieces framed by 2 and 1 1/2 pieces, framed by 2) 3" pieces. Because some of these pieces are thin silk pieces probably ... moreribbons they wore through. The lace in the center of each side has loose undone threads. Something to do with being folded I guess maybe was folded and got rubbed on that corner a lot. It is very clean and not musty. 60" x 69" not including lace. Guaranteed very old. Mid to late 1800's. This quilt top was found carefully preserved at an estate auction. It is in clean. Bright, colorful condition with no rips or stains. It is the quilt top only, 70 inches by 70 inches, with no backing. It dates to the 19th century, Log Cabin pattern, in a Sunshine and Shadow setting. Hand stitching throughout. A beautiful piece! Quilt top is unfinished and not bound. This is entirely hand pieced and hand sewn and interestingly backed with pieces of old cotton U.S. printed parade flags. Approximate size is 64" x 78" Condition: unbound edges with soiling/staining. Areas of thread loss(mostly on silk fabrics) One separation at seam approx. 3" and one tiny hole approx. 1/8" The"flag" back side is the side being featured and is relatively stable. SHE WAS NOT SURE WHO MADE THESE AS THEY CAME FROM HER SISTER'S ESTATE BUT SHE DOES KNOW THEY WERE MADE BY EITHER HER SISTER OR HER SISTER'S SISTER IN LAW OR A NEIGHBOR TO HER SISTER. APPARENTLY THE THREE OF THEM HAD THERE ON LITTLE QUILTING GROUP. ON THE THREE LOG CABINS WHICH ARE SIMILAR BUT NOT IDENTICAL AND IN DIFFERENT MATERIALS WE GUESSED THAT EACH ONE OF THE THREE LADIES HAD MADE ONE OF THESE IN THIS PATTERN/COLOR COMBO. Very Old Hand Pieced Sewn Log Cabin Blocks Quilt Top This is very very old. From an estate, not sure of its exact age. This is a great old scrap quilt. Tons of different fabrics. Excellent placement of lights and darks for overall effect! I know there are some civil war era fabrics in it. The outside blue borders have been machine sewed on. Everything else is hand sewn. This is the top only. I don't know if it was ever quilted. There are some gorgeous cheddar. Shirting. Etc in there. There are 5 blocks that have holes. Probably from moths, I have added them and am pointing to the damage in each one, so please look carefully. Those are the last 5 pictures. The other block pictures are just fabrics that are really neat! I've added one picture of the back. So you can enlarge it to see the stitching, it's the last photo. WONDERFUL Doll/Wall Victorian Log Cabin/crazy quilt. I call this a Log cabin because of the pattern. I combine“Crazy Quilt” because of the embroidery and foundation piecing. Its just too charming for words. All hand stitched. It has a beautiful color palette. With a shabby charm all it’s own. Excellent for displace for an authentic look. Exceptional 1890s Log Cabin Courthouse Steps antique quilt,double,by hand,damage
Dating to the 188 0's or'90's. A marvelous Log Cabin example antique quilt, in navy blue and light green. With white florals, same fabric but ju st different colors; bac king is what appears t o be a white muslin. If perfect. Easily a $900 quilt. All b y hand. Measures 78" x 84" This is a thin, not a thick quilt. Obvious ly made by an expert quilter. At some unknown time some unknown person put netting all a round the border as a sta b i lizing agent. For there is dama ge around the border which extends approximately 6" into the quilt(see last pics) there are also a few"shattered" places on the qui lt. None very noticeable in the overall drama. Because quilt is somewhat fragile. I would recommend it as a hanging or on back of chair or sofa or bottom of bed. I'm guessing there are probably 2.000 or ... moreso pieces here and putting this together was no small fea t. Even with damage aforementioned.
