Antique Vintage Hand Sewn Quilt Folk
60"x64" I am not an expert on quilts but this looks all hand pieced. There are a few small tears that are shown. I Would fix them but I don't want to ruin it. The tears are along the seams. Vintage 30s-1950s Hand-made/sewn BOWTIE QUILT Easter Colors Pink Lavender 70x84 Vintage handmade and handsewn quilt. Circa 1950s, using 1930s chambray fabric for the lavender border. This is mainly a BOW TIE pattern. Along with a secondary pattern, Old Italian Block, and I am told there is also an unidentified third pattern. Fabrics are gingham. Rayon and cotton with different color ways, i.e. same pattern but different colors. It has a muslin backing and high-loft batting. Predominant colors of the feedsack material are blue and pink. With amethyst or lavender fabric border. Measures approx. 70 by 84 inches. This item was obtained at an estate sale and described as a utilitarian quilt. Handstitched and pieced. It has been laundered and has a small tear in the binding near one corner. Please examine auction photos. Vintage DRESDEN PLATE Variation GRANDMOTHER'S Feed Sack QUILT Hand Sewn 82"x74"
We are not sure of the name of this pattern. But the basic idea is the same as the Dresden Plate, so we call it a Dresden Plate variation. It is really impressive, as you'll see below. This quilt is really old and some of the white fabric is starting to fray a little bit. We made pics of all the frayed areas and all the other flaws we found on this quilt. So please check all our photos to have a good idea. The quilt is very thin, with no batting, as you can see below at the points where the fabric has frayed and the bottom of the quilt is visible(no batting as far as we can tell between the top and the backing) The quilt measures 82" by 74' but please notice it has an irregular edge. The bed used for the pics is a queen size that measures. Give or take, 80" by 60" so you can compare and judge by yourself. All the fabric ... moreis cotton. Probably from old feed sacks. This is an old quilt. Hand cut and hand stitched, and it has been used and washed. It has some stains, as you'll see below, but it still is in good, usable condition for its age, and it has an interesting pattern made with swatches of old cotton fabric, maybe from actual feed sacks and maybe others as well. Hand sewn, in good condition but with some flaws that you'll see below, a vintage grandmother's style quilt top in the flower garden hexagonal pattern, with many fresh, bright colors, but in an irregular shape as the quilt top was never finished. Beautiful Antique / Vintage Hand Sewn Wedding Ring Quilt
Here is a truly wonderful antique or early vintage hand pieced and hand quilted classic American wedding ring quilt. The background and backing are a deep rich age earned ecru. The rings are a colorful assortment of calico prints. The binding is mint green. The borders are scalloped on all sides. The condition is very good antique, with only three small holes that do not go through the quilt seen, and very minor soiling or storage marks. Vintage Hand Sewn GRANDMOTHER'S Cotton QUILT TOP, Hundreds Small Squares 85"x75"
Up for sale this vintage quilt top in the"grandmother's" tradition. Made by hand, sewn by hand, all cotton fabric, some of them probably from real feed sacks, in a beautiful geometric pattern whose name we don't know, so we let it open to you quilters and experts out there to name it. The"hundreds of little squares" form large squares that are 14 1/2" on their sides. Each small square is thumbnail sized. 3/4' on their sides. The swatches of fabric separating the large squares are some of them violet in color, others a nice flowery fabric which looks mostly blue from a distance. Please check our pics for more details. Vintage 1940's or older, Crazy Quilt and sham, unfinished, mostly hand sewn
This pre 1940's Crazy Quilt is unfinished as it does not have batting or final backing. It appears to be mostly hand sewn. It is made of all types of fabrics and maybe some feed sacks. Several of the satin pieces are damaged and are shredding. It is stitched with'turkey tracks' The quilt measures 7 feet by 7 feet. It includes a large pillow sham. That is also unfinished. I inherited these from my great grandmother and have decided to part with them as I do not sew and can not finish them. They were probably made prior to 1942 based on the best memory of my grandmother. She said she remembered her mother quilting when they lived in Ohio. Which was until 1942. She does not remember her quilting after they moved to Texas and ultimately to California. Posted with

Vintage Antique Cotton Fabric QUILT TOP Hand Sewn Stitched
I stumbled across this quilt top and thought it was so pretty. i'm Spring cleaning) I don't know much about quilts. So I'll do my best to decribe. PLEASE bear with me. I'll probably be jumping all over the place to try and explain and type things as they come in my head. Here is a vintage antique quilt top. It's in excellant vintage condition. The fabric still feels kind of crispy. It has been folded with the bright side on the inside so the colors are still pretty bright. There are afew rust spots on the front in a block or two. You really cant' see it because of the colors. I don't know if these can be removed or not. On the back side is what I think is called light storage marks? It appears to be made of old flour sacks or old material. It measures about 75x84. There are 20 blocks that measure about 12-11/16x13 ... moreinches. The strips in between are alittle over 4 inches. All the edges seem to be pretty even. It all seems to be hand stitched. I mean everything. The stiches are so nice and pretty. Whoever put this together sure took pride in making it. There isn't any holes or tears that I can see. I don't even notice any major puckering. I DIDN'T iron this so it is wrinkled. That's what you see in the pictures. If I missed anything please forgive me. I tried my best. Remember. This is just the top part. The quilt isn't done. Would make a nice project to finish. Also. This is an old quilt top. Excellent placement of lights and darks for overall effect! I know there are some civil war era fabrics in it. The outside blue borders have been machine sewed on. Everything else is hand sewn. This is the top only. I don't know if it was ever quilted. There are some gorgeous cheddars. Shirtings, etc in there. There are 5 blocks that have holes. Vintage 8 Point Star Hand Pieced Hand Sewn Quilt Cutter Quilt Or Repair
Up for auction is a vintage hand pieced and hand sewn 8 point star quilt. The body of the quilt is in pretty nice condition. The top edge and the bottom edge is really worn. The side edges have some wear, but nothing like the top and bottom. I'm listing this as a cutter quilt, but I think it could be easily repaired. It is pink, white and multicolored on top and the bottom is white. It measures 62 inches wide and 75 inches long and is displayed on a queen size bed. Up for sale this old. Hand sewn, all cotton fabric grandmother's style patchwork quilt with a"fan" or fans design. Each"fan" is inside a block that measures 9" by 9" approximately, as these were made by hand and the measurements differ a little from block to block. The quilt measures 81" by 67" The bed used for the photos is a queen size that measures 80" by 60' Give or take. The quilt is thick and kind of heavy. As it probably has old cotton batting. Vintage Hand Sewn GRANDMOTHER'S Cotton QUILT: DRESDEN PLATE Variation? 76"x62"
We are not sure if this is a variation of the pattern called Dresden Plate. Or if it is different kind of"plate" Please check our pics and you be the judge, as our knowledge of quilt patterns is not good at all. The quilt seems to be old. Hand made, and the fabric is all cotton, from what we can touch and feel. It is thin, but it has some batting. The fabric on the top has been washed many times and it has faded a bit and at some points, as you'll see below, it has open up a little, but there are not that many damages as one could expect in something this old. We made close-ups of all the damages. But it might be one small hole or stain escaped us. But we really tried to be thorough in our photographing of the damages. The quilt has a"chain" stitched pattern on the white part. As you'll notice below. It reminds ... moreus of the knitting on the front of a fisherman's sweater, a little bit like a strand of DNA, but we don't know if the name"chain" is the correct one. Please check the photo. Vintage 1940s Hand Sewn Quilt
Here is a hand pieced hand sewn quilt made by my mother in the 1940s. It is what I believe is called a nine patch or nine square design. The basic overall color is white. I notice that on what I call the top there is an area about nine inches by twelve inches that is either a patch or she ran out of material and that is how she filled it in. On the back there is a spot that is worn through about the size if a quarter. The back as an additional worn area in the center which does not go through. I would think that this old quilt has a lot of use left in it yet. I will be listing more quilts depending on how this one sells. PAYMENT can be made with PAYPAL or otherwise. Up for auction is a vintage. Hand sewn, log cabin, patchwork quilt. It measures 84 inches by 64 inches. The colors on the front of this quilt are a lovely gray, rust, green, blue, and red. The back is a gray pin stripe. I believe that the material is made out of wool and flannel and is very heavy. Very good looking. Vintage quilt top, hand sewn, made in the cathedral window pattern, but it is not a"real" cathedral window, so it might be a"faux" cathedral window pattern. Very Old Hand Pieced Sewn Log Cabin Blocks Quilt Top This is very very old. From an estate, not sure of its exact age. This is a great old scrap quilt. Tons of different fabrics. Excellent placement of lights and darks for overall effect! I know there are some civil war era fabrics in it. The outside blue borders have been machine sewed on. Everything else is hand sewn. This is the top only. I don't know if it was ever quilted. There are some gorgeous cheddar. Shirting. Etc in there. There are 5 blocks that have holes. Probably from moths, I have added them and am pointing to the damage in each one, so please look carefully. Those are the last 5 pictures. Sweetest of all is the original cardboard pattern for the bug body, cut from some kind of package advertisement. My great grandmother was a seamstress. Vintage Hand Sewn GRANDMOTHER'S Style QUILT TOP: SCHOOL OF FISH ? 82" x 75"
This is an old. Hand sewn patchwork quilt top, swatches made of cotton we think, but we are not sure(and we don't know if all of them are cotton) in the grandmother's style of quilting. The pattern is composed of hundreds of little triangles with 3 1/2" sides, give or take, forming squares that are half white, half some color. The quilt is clearly divided in two sides at the center. The left side of the photo with the white triangles pointing southwest, and on the right side of the quilt, in our photos, the white triangles are pointing northeast. This is best seen in our pic# 6 counting from the top of the photos. We believe the particular way the triangles are sewn. In which four triangles of the same fabric are put in a special shape, as you'll see below, that resembles an abstract or stylized fish, makes this quilt pattern ... moreto be called"School of Fish" But we don't remember where we saw or read that, so please you check our photos and you judge by yourself. Vintage LARGE Hand Sewn GRANDMOTHER'S All Cotton FLOWER GARDEN QUILT, 92"x90"
Strikingly beautiful hand sewn quilt. Made of all cotton swatches of fabric, very heavy and in an unusual big size for its vintage. It has a special flower garden pattern, as you'll see below. It has green edges on two side only. We placed those sides. For our pics, at the head and the foot of the bed, but they could be on the side of the bed as well, as the quilt is practically square in shape. Because it has not much batting. We believe this quilt was made as decor, as a bedspread, instead of to be used as a comforter. The quilt is a bit heavy, so using it as a comforter could be. uncomfortable. Vintage Hand Sewn GRANDMOTHER'S "HOURGLASS" QUILT, Hundreds of Padded Triangles
The folk artists. Master quilters who hand made this work of art, made hundreds of little triangles that have the same fabric on both sides, then filled the triangles with batting and make them look like little triangular pillows, and then sew all these pillows together, all by hand. Notable art inspiration, great skill, we think(of course, we are no quilters and we have no idea if what we just described is the actual way of making these things, it is just our impression of how this quilt might have been achieved) So we have a good size quilt. Almost square in shape(75" by 74" give or take) which is composed of hundreds of little padded triangles that are thicker on the center and taper towards the edges, where they are very thin and can be sewn to the other triangles. This technique gives the quilt a"bumpy" of course) ... moreappearance which you will appreciate below. Please check all our pics showing the two pieces that have become loose and how they fit perfectly to the quilt. Etc. There are no other large loose sections, but some of the stitching of some triangles, mostly on the edges, are visibly starting to get loose as well. The pink triangles on the edges of the quilt are supposed to match the pink of the true center of the quilt. But the fabric on the edges have faded more rapidly than in the center and there is a slight difference between the pink on the edges and the pink fabric on the center. This is most likely a good cutter but I have seen worse repaired so draw your own conclusions. No matter it is absolutely beautiful and it is heavy. Every stich is hand done botht the quitlting and the top. You can see the damage in the picture. There is some yellowing as well which is also visible. Measures 60' x70' Thanks

I don't know what type of fabric was used to me it looks like cotton but I don't know my fabrics very well. The measurement I came up with was 77" x 86" that was laying flat with no stretching or pulling. Every block has been hand sewn together. The blocks are about 2 1/4" each way. This looks like it has been washed or maybe just wrinkled from being packaged away. I have no idea if it has odors as I can't smell very well do to sinus issues. I do pack my linen items is a plastic bag with fabric softener sheets to make them smell good. I did not seen any stains or flaws. I might have missed something but there are no obvious flaws or stains. Please ... moreask any questions. Dated 1935 Vintage Hand Sewn GRANDMOTHER'S Cotton QUILT SWASTIKA Pattern 85"x66"
We found this pattern in an old book on quilt patterns and it is called"Swastika" At the time. This geometric figure was considered a sign or symbol of wish of good luck. This of course changed precisely in the 1930's when the Nazis in Germany took the Swastika as the symbol for their party and their later atrocities; the Native-Americans, mostly the Navajo, who used this symbol, stopped using it in the 1930's, for example. The quilt for sale here is beautiful and has this now rare design or pattern. And it is clear it was made before the news of the nefarious use of the symbol arrived in full force to America: the quilt was finished in 1935, as it says at the bottom, the one that is hanging at the feet of the bed on the photos. It says there, as you'll see below: 1935- Seniors-P.H.S. Then each Swastika is signed by ... morea student. With the exception of one that says"sponsor" under the name, and we think could be teacher. We think P.H. S. might stand for Pullman High School. Of Washington State. That High School was founded in 1929, so from the point of view of time of existence, that school fits the acronym. But we are not sure, and P.H.S. could be other schools as well, of course. The quilt has a vibrant. True red color. It is striking. The size is that of a queen size bed, but it would fit a full as well. The bed used for the pics is a queen size that measures 80" by 60" give or take. Very nice hand sewn quilt top made of(mostly) cotton swatches of fabric(some fabrics might not be 100% cotton.
