Amish Log Cabin Quilt Barnraising pattern
This scrumptious log cabin quilt measures 74 x 74 inches and the fabric is a buttery cotton sateen. The person I bought it from said she got it at an estate auction in Ohio. And that dealer said it was Amish. Sewn with black thread, which you can see on the yellow backing. The first photo is an actual scan of the quilt. Why would you want this quilt? It has exceptional texture in the variety of the yellow fabrics used. It is dramatic and displays beautifully. Not because it's"perfect. because it isn't. There is damage to the black fabric, in the center, along fold lines, and at the border. There is also a 9 by 9 inch brown stain on the back, which does not go through to the front. It displays precise even stitches. 10-12 stitches to the inch. It is hand pieced and quilted with feather quilting along the border and tulips quilted in the corner blocks. The interior quilting is diamond grid. The back is black with tiny white polka dots with a hand stitched binding that is applied. The batting is thin. Fabulous Antque Quilt This charming quilt was a gift many many years ago but I have decided to simplify my life and so I am offering it up for sale The quilt is complely handsewn and hand quilted. The squares measure about 1 5/8"by 1 5/8" and there are aproximently 8/10 stiches per inch. The backing on the quilt is one solid piece of vintage cotton material. The color of the backing is a deep cranberry red with a very small black design. The quilt measures 75" by 84" This size would be perfect for a double or maybe a queen size bed. The condition of the quilt top is excellent. The condition of the quilt backing is good but not perfect. There is one medium/small stain and a small bit of material damage in that area(picture included) I do not know the exact age of this quilt but I guesstimate it to be 100 years old. Beautiful Nine Patch Cotton Quilt in Amish or Dark Primary Colors 83" square
This is a very attractive quilt. It measures 83" square. The colors are Black. True Red and Medium Blue with secondary colors brown, yellow, pink and green. The look is Amish and while the quilt appears to be hand made the stitches are not as small and are fewer per inch than an Amish Quilt. This quilt has 4-5 stitches per inch. Vintage Amish Handmade LONE STAR Quilt ~ 88" x 91" ~Folder ~Cutter?
Vintage Amish Handmade Lone Star Quilt Cutter- Folder ~ Front Porch Worthy! If you like the shabby- country look. this quilt may be for you! We have a soft antique LONE STAR QUILT purchased years ago from an Amish estate sale. This striking quilt does show some signs of wear and a bit of deterioration. So we are classifying it as a cutter or folder quilt. There are no holes or missing fabric; but it's not perfect. It is hand-quilted and machine stitched around the quilt perimiter and boats a nice combination of old fabrics which are probably from the 1930's- 40's. The batting is thin and there is outling quilting and straight line quilting throughout the quilt at about 7 stitches per inch. It measures about 88" x 91" The edges of this binding are frayed in places. But could easily be replaced if this is of concern to ... moreyou. There is also a section along the edge where some of the cross-hatch stitching has deteriorated a bit. In addition, there is some yellowing of the creamy white fabric, but a nice bath should brighten this quilt right up. I've taken LOTS of photos. please ENJOY and bid accordingly. I've used this quilt as a display piece; however. It would also look nice folded at the end of the bed- or a cutter if you so choose. To the best of my knowledge. The opinion of 2 antique dealers and 1 fabric store manager along with her 3 employees we STRONGLY believe this quilt has been Hand stitched& hand quilted. There is no documentation to prove this but the story I have been told is that my Grandmother bought this quilt on a trip to Pennsylvania around Lancaster County in the 1950's. The quilt was purchased from an antique store then and she was told that this Style of quilt was often used in the wagons/ buggies of the Amish people. I have done my research and have not found another like this anywhere. Antique Textile Bricks pattern places this wonderful Old Order Amish piece ... morein the out-of-the-ordinary category. The hand pieced and quilted Bricks pattern is made up of cotton suiting rectangles measuring approximately 1.5" x 3" in shades of red, pinks, blues, navy, dark& lite greens, ivory, white, black, browns, grays, tans, peach and more. The approx weight of this quilt is 4.5 lbs. Please see pictures for exact description as I am not a professional and my pictures are the best way to describe this beautiful quilt. Pa. Amish Quilt, Traditional Old Amish Colors - Vintage - Full/Queen - Excellent
Diamond in a Square is the official title of this Pa. Amish Quilt. It is vintage in excellent condition. It has never been washed but frequently shaken and lightly vacuumed. The delicate stitches are enhanced by the simplicity of the lines and the solid bold colors. The center is orange. Light blue on each side broken by dark green squares in each corner. Dark blue forms the next diamonds and light blue borders are broken by brown squares. Brown borders the bottom of the quilt broken by orange squares in each corner. The intricate patterns of tiny stitches is totally done by hand. The patterns vary from diamond shapes. Feathering, a large feathered circle in the center square and many other intricate and expertly executed hand stitches. The reverse is light beige which allows for great appreciation for the patterns and tiny stitches. It was ... moreused for about ten years and then gently stored in white tissue paper and a white sheet. This is a lovely work of art. With spotting and discoloration- mostly in one quadrant(it appears to be bleach) and the back, and binding wear. There are straight line. Grid, and cable designs quilted throughout at an even 7 stitches to the inch. The back and hand stitched. Rolled binding are the same light blue, and the batting is thin. Lancaster County Pennsylvania Amish vintage quilt Martzall Frey Sellers
Another of my prized family heirlooms I have to sell because the current Economic enviroment. Thank you Obama. Anyway here goes. This is a beutiful Amish Star pattern Applique quilt I inheited about 17 years ago from my grandmother(possibly Dunkard or Mennonite) She was born in East Petersburg Pennsylvania and lived in Philadelphia and Lancaster Pennsylvania. Her maiden name was Martzall and some other names in the family are Sellers. Frey, Landis and Bender. Unsure which side this came from. It measures 68 x 51 inches which I guess would make it a lap quilt. It has wear and fading. Also looks like the colors have bled from being washed. It has a small hole on both sides in different spots that do not go all the way thru. The center on both sides has a small wear hole. The edging has heavy wear. The picture of the back does not show the color ... morewell it actually is a Lilac color. Stitch count is about 9-10 per inch. There are also a few spots on it. The picture of the front does not show the stars properly. There are actually white stars in the pattern that are hard to see in the photo. Please look ath the photos closely. I do not sell a lot of quilts. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. This is not in perfect condition but is a genuine died in the wool vintage Amish quilt.

This is a beautiful hand stitched finished quilt. I'm not sure but it is either queen or king size. The dimensions are 114" X 109" It is a beautiful white quilt with light color designs. Very charming antique quilt. Early vintage.1900-1930's in my opinion. She measures 82 x 85" The backing is a solid off white that goes right onto the edge of the front. She does show a few minor flaws.the fabric is shredding on some of the triangles. There is a bluish/gray stain on one of the large squares in the yellow section. There is also a large square that has a faded/whitish in the pics area. Which looks like there was a stain that was over cleaned! There is also a small hole in the white section of that square that is about the size of a quarter. It is just the top fabric.doesn't go through the whole quilt. Authentic Vintage Amish Quilt Top. Awesome.
This is a used vintage Amish quilt top. I picked these up from an elderly gentleman. He said that his wife purchased them back in the early 80's when they were traveling the Amish lands. She was always going to finish them but never did. So they have been in a drawer since then. This one is approximately 84" x 70" These tops are pictured folded in half because I have nowhere big enough in my home to unfold it completely to take a picture. This one is in very good condition. Very clean and bright. The only thing wrong is a missing section on one corner side. You can see in photo 11. No rips or tares that I can find. It is all hand stitched. Very nicely done. Sold as is. +: OW+2. Description: This listing is for an antique early 1900's aMISH Tulip patterned quilt purchased here in Lancaster County PA. Quilt is in very nice condition for age. There is one or two spots where petal is pulling away from quilt that just needs to be restitched along the edge of the flower onto the quilt. One other petal has small tear on it that can be mended. There is some evidence of stitches from mending spots as well. Some slight wear on edges but all intact. Some fading of colors. Quilt is white to slightly off white with a light purple border. Flowers are light purple and light yellow petals with green stems. Very pretty! Back is plain white. Black and blue, that vibrant almost electric combination. Patchwork, cotton, on full size bed so a twin. Too good to put on a bed through- needs to hang out of the sun. That's a statement! As you can see from the photos. There is a variation in the blacks, most likely because of the different materials used which have aged slightly differently and show tonal hues across the spectrum. We personally appreciate the extra life that gives to this very somber and restrained design. Very good condition. We found one pencil eraser tip hole on the back. Which is a greener lighter blue than the front. Otherwise, no open seams, no rips, tears, stains, ... moreother issues. Thin cotton batting. Lays flat. Well quilted in black thread, 7-8 spi one side counted(see ruler in one of the photos) This looks machine pieced. But of course hand quilted. Knife edge folded over and hand stitched as well. Purchased from Ohio dealer's personal collection- no question in our mind that it IS Holmes County and Amish and that the date is about right, Previous owner had a cat and did smoke. So the quilt needs to be aired out, possibly gently soaked(this has been washed in its life, at least according to the way if feels with that polished cotton taking on a softer touch, and the quilting just slightly puffing) We need to photograph outside hanging. But it's thundering so more to come. And we'll show you the plain cotton back as well, Measures about 82x64. While we swoon over 1850s quilts. There is just something truly special about this Amish quilt. It's a work of art peculiar to the Amish quilt making tradition. Baeautiful Early 1900s Antique Kokomo Indiana Amish QUILT. Click picture to enlarge Kokomo is the 3rd oldest Amish settlement in Indiana. Founded in 1848. This quilt was found there, and has all the attributes of an Amish made quilt. Early 1900s. This quilt has pieced squares pieces in solids of black. Red, yellow, green and white. It is hand quilted. It is treadle bound. It measures 73 1/2" x 62 1/2" There is popping of the top fabric in three square pieces. One tiny nick in the binding, and a couple lentil size spots on the back as shown in the photos. There is also light age tanning on the front that is too light to photograph and only seems to be visible in the light pieces and light age tanning on the back. Freshly hand laundered. Elegant hand made Amish quilt/ blue & white/matching bedskirt/pillow shams/King
This is an Exquisite hand made Amish quilt in excellent used condition with matching bedskirt& pillow shams. It is in very good used condition with no tears/no fading. No spots, etc. It is a light colonial blue pattern with a tiny pink flower and alternating sparkling white quilted sections It is the highest quality Amish work because we know from buying many quilts over the years. It has been lovingly taken care of. I discovered that it can also be used as a queen bedspread when I put it out to photograph and for a queen bed it covered the entire bed and you don't need a bed skirt. I am including a ruffled king bedskirt of the same blue& pink print fabric. It is a very full ruffle and is mounted on a king size sheet so the ruffle will stay in place easily. It is quite wrinkled from storage so I have not shown a picture. It is ... more13 1/2 inches in length. The bed shams are the size that fits a king size pillow with a ruffle of 4 1/2 inches all the way around and they are also made of the blue& pink print in the bedspread. This is a very beautiful set and with proper care with last to be an heirloom for generations to come. The size of the quilt is 105 x 106" These quilts can be machine washed on GENTLE CYCLE which does NOT spin them hard. A regular spin of the washer is too harsh& could break threads. It is best that these fine quilts NOT be put in a dryer but should be hung outside preferably on a warm sunny day with a little breeze. These are cotton and should NOT be dry cleaned. Moultrie County, Illinois probably around 1910, I am not sure.This antique quilt have been in my late husband family for over a hundreds years, is in almost impeccable condition for its age. I was told it was a gift. Never was used, always very well care and preserved. Except for a few yellowish spots, I tried to show in pictures, the quilt has no rips is not faded, no lose stitches either. Up for bid here is a Beautiful Hand Made Amish Quilt. It was made by a little Girl named Dora S. Eberly age 9 in 1925. As you see in the pictures the little girl put her information on the Quilt. She sewed 42 different patterns on the Quilt. Just think of the hard work and the time this little girl put into making the Quilt. Vintage Amish Hand-quilted "Round the World" Pattern Large Quilt
Machine pieced and hand quilted. Diagonal quilting pattern. Front pattern is bordered by right-angle triangles on three sides. Forth side has bigger 6.75" red and yellow floral border. Fabric indicative of early 1930's homespun fabrics- shirting and simple prints decorate quilt. Border is back fabric brought around to front. See last two pics to see small tar in back. It can be mended but I left it as is.

1994 Willitts Amish Heritage Collection - Quilt Teddy Bear Ornament in a Tin Box
This Rare and retired ornament by Willits is part of a Amish Heritage Collection by Ann Dezendorf. This one patch quilt Teddy Doll was retired in 1994 and is in mint condition. You can see from the pictures it still has the packing tissue in the tin along with the Teddy Bear tucked inside the pouch in the one patch quilt. The quilt measures 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" and the tin is 4" x 4" The tin includes the Amish Teddy Bear. A one patch quilt, and a brochure describing the quilt and a history of the Amish Doll. I said this was used but it looks in new condition.

QUILT handmade, hand stitched,( amish / mennonite)
handmade. HAND stitched quilt. USED, in very good condition! I found 4 small spots. three pics above show them w/ coins next to them. It is my quess that the the white fabric was bought in yard widths and possibly sewn together by machine,to make the overall width. then the rest of quilting and flower pattern, as well as trim, was sewn all by hand. maybe at an amish or mennonite quilting bee, which are very popular in this area) Those few seems are on the bottom fabric and inside seems so i cannot see the individual stitches. These pics are taken on a queen size bed, the afternoon sunlight is coming in the window. no flash. the approx size is 90 x 104. i do think it is lightly lined. Very pretty quilt! This beautiful and very well preserved baby quilt was my late husband baby quilt when he was born in 1935. Belonged in the family, never was used for anyone else. Excellent condition, the only small brown spot is shown in the picture, Size 35 x 44 inches.
