Vintage Antique Log Cabin Quilt Hand Pieced Beautiful Colors
Here we have a beautiful log cabin quilt with wonderful colors and a stunning pattern. I think the it dates to the teens or twenties. The fabrics are all light weight wools and cotton prints. It measures app. 80" x 82" overall. The pieces are all hand sewn and it has not been top quilted. The backing is a great paisley print and it feels like there is no batting inside. There are several tiny holes throughout the quilt. I have photographed the worst damage. The quilt is still vis ually stunning. The s titch ing is strong and it is holding together well. LOVELY 1940'S ANTIQUE DRUNKARDS PATH QUILT, HAND PIECED, HAND QUILTED 10SPI
Here is a great 1940's drunkard's path quilt in peach green with a light cheddar backing. All hand pieced and also hand quilted with tiny stitches. 10 ttiny spi. I have been told that this is a very hard pattern to piece due to the curves in each block. This one is very well done. Its in very good condition with just a couple of small spots on the front and one spot on the backing. Besides being entirely hand pieced every piece is hand quilted around its interior. 10spi. All cotton fabrics with a thin cotton batting The cheddar backing is just a few shades darker than the peach. Very complimentary. Its finished with a hand closed pencil thin binding. Absolutely free of wear. The only flaws on this quilt are the few match head size spots that are shown. It measures 72" x 84" and is shown on a full bed. Black& some shirting prints. It has a thin cotton batting& flour sack backing. I wonder if it might have been the first of many quilts made by a young girl of long ago for a special doll? It has been hand-pieced& hand-quilted. I purchased this quilt at a Northwest Missouri estate auction. It is in very good condition with just a few faint stains on the back.

The top side looks very good with no marks or stains. The bottom has a few light spots. I have not washed this quilt. I will leave that to the buyers discretion. The colors are slightly pastel and the blue and yellow are a great combination. Of course there are many other colors. Please take a close look. It measures Approx 78" X 89" and is in Very Good condition. A few small, light stains. I have not tried to clean it. Smells nice and clean. The quilting is SUPERB. With quilting around the perimeter of each piece and in grid and deco/floral designs in the background, all at an even 10 stitches to the inch. The back and hand stitched binding are solid Whit e. Antique Hand Made Red White Quilt 64x82" 1920's As Is
I have for auction a wonderful old quilt from the early 1900'3. It displays an interesting pattern all done in bright red on white; stitching on this quilt is superb; measures approx. 82x64" it is very worn but still lovely. Came to me along with the old red camp blanket I have presently on Ebay. Red must have been a favorite color in that household. It would have taken months to accomplish all of the hand stitching on this quilt; for its age it is still in reasonable condition although it is very worn down to the batting; nevertheless an interesting old piece of the conniseur of quilts or the collector. Up for Auction is a Beautiful Antique Hand Stitched Double Wedding Ring Quilt.This belongs to my Aunt.She is in her 90's and collected antiques for many yrs.I will describe this the best I can,I do believe that this was made from Feedsacks.It is approx.80"by 84" in size,there is a slight scallop border.I do not see any tears or rips,I do see two small stains which I took a pitcture of and some threads that have frayed around the edge.This has been used and washed through the yrs.it is so soft and cudly the best Quilt to get under on a cold night.The back material is a pale yellow and the top of the quilt is a antique white.I am not sure of the age.This comes from a smoke free home and it has been stored away for many yrs.No odors,nice and clean.I am not real familiar with Quilts so please let the pictures speak for themselves.If ... moreanyone has any information for me to add about the age or material, please let me know and I will add it to my write up.

This quilt is in VERY nice condition for it's age! It must have been stored very well for years because it shows only minor signs of wear- and those signs are all on the reverse of the blanket. Some sun damage(faded lines where it was folded) and a couple of minors stain is most of the evident wear. The front is immaculate- no staining. No rips and no tears/holes. Really in GREAT shape- heirloom worthy piece! The colors of the piece are vibrant- there are lots of bright velvets and some satin. Plenty of fancy stitching. There is written"1893" in stitching on one little panel. Plenty of names of people who contributed to the quilt. CHERISH EACH DAY& ALL WILL BE OK This antique quilt measures 62" by 74" has some type of square pattern. It may have been made prior to the 1930's. As the fabrics appear older, with regard to color. Quarter sections are shown, to see the details better. The binding is blue& was machine sewn. The hand quilting was done at an even 10-12 spi. The main color is a dusty pink, there are 8" squares. The back is off-white. Most of the fabric is cotton, but there are some that are something else. It has thin cotton batting. It has been washed& lays flat. There are no flaws seen. It is also basted around the center hole and outside edges very neatly. The 17 petals are a mixture of FEEDSACK. Apron and Dress cotton fabrics of the day. Each petal measures 5.25" long and 2.25" wide. The colors are typical 1930's-40's purple, pinks, blue, with white, etc. This block lies flat. Excellent condition and project ready. Clean. Old well loved double wedding ring quilt is approximately 82" by 76" There is one particular fabric that has shredded. I think there are about 4 or 5 of them. Please see pics. The binding all around the quilt is tatttered. It is still very pretty and shabby chic looking. Could go thru many more light washings. Quilt is displayed on queen size bed and last pic is on patio. Very interesting flower basket quilt. All blocks have a name stitched on it. Some have the date 1934. I would assume some ladies had some fun while they put this together. Second picture shows an age spot. Quilt is in pretty good shape other than fading. The back is pink and is faded. All the quilts I have listed are totally hand stitched. My what time it took! Wonderful Victorian Silk Satin Hand Pieced Large Quilt Top.This is a Real Labour of Love and must have taken years to complete.The Stitches are Tiny and the Silk is in Very Good Condition as mentioned above there is very little wrong and it has an added bonus of 14 spare Patches to replace any faults.The Top is Lined with a Soft Wool and still has the odd Tacking Stitch in place.Pic6 shows the Wool Backing and the 14 completed Spare Patches folded under.Ideally it needs a Cotton Lining and would be a lovely Winter Project and what an Heirloom to pass down.I have had the Top for Many Years and have never had the time to complete it.I have had it wrapped in a Cotton Sheet put away in the Drawer and it seems such a shame when it really deserves to be on show.This is a Real One Off and I have never seen better.Measures Approx 81ins X 82ins. Antique/Vintage Grandmothers Flower Garden Hand Stitched Handmade 82"x80" Quilt
Up fo r auction is this wonderful Vintage/Antique hand stitched/handmade quilt. The quilt is done in the grandmother’s flower garden pattern. It measures 82” by 80” The quilt is in good shape for its age. It does have some wear to the edges that could be rebound and three flower octagon blocks have some wear/damage. The backside is all white. It has a few dark browning spots. Some yellowing at one edge and one small hole that does not go through to the front. I did not try to clean or treat the quilt so the spots might be able to be taken out. This is a super nice quilt and very old. It is fresh from a local estate. 60"x64" I am not an expert on quilts but this looks all hand pieced. There are a few small tears that are shown. I Would fix them but I don't want to ruin it. The tears are along the seams. This is a beautiful hand appliqued and hand quilted pink roses quilt. There are roses and rose buds in various shades of pink& peach with a touch of yellow& red. The flowers. Buds and leaves are accented with embroidery. There is some slight discoloration on a few of the folds and a tiny stain in the bottom corner of the back(see photo) These may come out with washing(the quilt has been washed before) It's pastel palete gives it a great shabby chic look and it is in wonderful condition. Freshly laundered. I examined closely and stitched a few places where the hand stitching came lose on the skirt. I'm a seamstress tailor and this is a real piece of art. The design is all hand stitched.There is a slit at each bottom corner to alow for the bed posts.Beautifully done. spread is 80" wide by 80" long. The skirt is 14" long.top quilt is 62" clean no signs of wear no problems. the real deal This quilt was completed and then the matching skirt was attached.Belongs together tough. TSome of the peachy orange is faded. There are a few small areas where the edge is loose or partly off and a few spots on the one black and a spot on the cream back. All seen in the photos. Antique Quilt Double Wedding Ring Design 1920's Hand Quilted Large 97" x 87"
This Double Wedding Ring design Quilt is hand sewn and hand quilted and dates from the 1920's. Exact origin unknown. It belonged to the seller's aunt until her death in 1985 and has been stored as a part of the seller's personal quilt collection ever since. Excellent condition for it's age. Lovely variety of printed cotton pieces. Scalloped edge. Intricate hand quilting is best observed on the back side. Perfectly symmetrical in shape. There are some flaws(all shown in the photos) two spots, one large one which is visible through the front and back; two tears in the backing; four pieces whose fabric has worn off so the thin cotton stuffing shows through; very slight wear at the egdge; some slight yellowing in places. Large Antique Quilt Top "T Blocks" 84 x 87" Hand Pieced 1880's-1900
This is a wonderful example of a very early quilt top. It is all cottons and measures a large 84 x 87" The block is called"T Blocks" Or"Four T's" and it measures 10 1/2" It dates to the 1880's to 1900 and has marvelous prints. Some are crisp cottons and some have a brushed feel, and as I have shown, the maker sometimes ran out of one fabric and substituted another of a similar color, giving it the charm of a make do era. It is completely hand pieced, even the green print border. The border goes all around, and is 4" I saw only one very small age spot, it is otherwise excellent, with no holes, weak spots, or odors. A very nice collectable top.

ANTIQUE OCEAN WAVES QUILT VINTAGE PRIMITIVE SHIRTINGS HAND QUILTED TURKEY RED
This is a beautiful antique. Primitive quilt. I believe it is a variation of the Ocean Waves pattern. If you know another name for it, please feel free to comment. The size is 72x76. It is pictured on a queen sized bed. It has been hand pieced and hand quilted, in a truly"make-do" fashion. Many of the triangles are, themselves, pieced. It is quilted with brown thread in single parallel lines, going the length(76" of the quilt. The quilting is utilitarian with long, widely spaced stitches, as this quilt is quite thick and heavy. It wouldn't surprise me if the"batting" is an even older worn out quilt. The fabrics are cotton. There are homespuns, shirtings and a couple of flannels. The backing is homespun. The binding was done by bringing the backing to the front and stitching it to the top. I will describe the condition ... moreas well as I can. There is some age fading of a couple of the red fabrics. There is a small paint smear on one square. There are a few repairs along some seams. There are a couple small holes in the border. It needs to be washed. These condition problems are minor. In my opinion, and do not distract from the overall impact and displayability of this quilt. The quilt and fabrics are still sturdy, and the colors are strong and vibrant. Please note. As stated above, this quilt is quite heavy. It weights 7 lbs. without box and packing) Also it is not from a non-smoking home, though I don't notice any odors.

It is pattern# 1339a in Brackman's Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns It has great colors: a nice white background with two colors of pink. Mint green. Two colors of yellow. And aqua blue. Antique vtg Primitive Blazing Star Quilt Block c1860-80 Hand-Pc'd LAST ONE
Antique Vintage Primitive BLAZING STAR Quilt Block a.k.a. SUNFLOWER or SUNBURST also called NOONDAY. c.1860-80 CIVIL WAR ERA or earlier. This was bought from a Lancaster County. Pennsylvania antique dealer in the 1990's. Size: The quilt block is approx. 13 inches square or 19" on point as in pix#8. The Blazing Star circle is 10 inches across and the Chrome Yellow center circle is 4.5 inches across. The 16 WHITE diamonds are 2.5" long. This pattern is difficult to piece and it is beautifully sewn by HAND very precisely by an expert. Color: POISON GREEN is the 13.5" background block. After the CHROME YELLOW center of the STAR. There are 8 half diamonds of CINNAMON or DOUBLE PINK alternating with 8 Madder Brown that has a White stripe and polka dots of red, tan and white half diamonds. The large diamonds are WHITE with teeny ... moreblack Dots. The half-diamonds on the outside curved edge are a similar Madder print with dots of red, tan and white on a smaller scale. See an explanation of these fabrics in the pre-1830 section of Eileen Jahnke Trestain's book"DATING FABRICS A Color Guide 1800-1900" There are some small light storage specks barely visible.
