Some squares have seams, the artisan using up every scrap of fabric on hand. The backing is a charming old cotton print of raspberries or blackberries, in muted shades of olive green. This auction is for a vintage doll quilt made in 1955/56. It measures 24" X 24" There are no tears or holes and there is some slight staining on the back side. It includes paperwork from the Washington State Historical Society. During the 1980 the Washington State Historical Society documented hundreds of quilts. This is one of them. The quilt was made by Euphemia Ellen Evans Seeley Howard for her grand-daughter. The quilt is in good condition. But the construction is average compared to today's standards. However, this is a wonderful piece of history.

ANTIQUE HAND-STITCHED DOLL QUILT 4-PATCH PATTERN This darling little quilt was lovingly handmade with fabrics indicating a time period of 1860-1890. The colors are indigo blue. Black& some shirting prints. It has a thin cotton batting& flour sack backing. I wonder if it might have been the first of many quilts made by a young girl of long ago for a special doll? It has been hand-pieced& hand-quilted. I purchased this quilt at a Northwest Missouri estate auction. It is in very good condition with just a few faint stains on the back.

It is completely hand sewn of great early fabrics, lots of nice browns, as well as a bit of purple and red calicos. I especially like the binding fabric, which is a wonderful chocolate brown and cornflower blue diamond pattern, I've never seen that particular fabric before. This great old doll quilt measures about 17 1/2" long and 14" wide and is in nice antique condition, with no holes or rips, a bit of light staining on a couple of the light squares on the front, and a few brown spots on the back. There is also one tiny area on the binding where the blue did not print, which was in the printing of the fabric, but in no way detracts from the piece. Please look at the pictures for a better idea of condition, and if you would like additional photos, simply e-mail me, and I'll do my best to provide them. This is an antique baby quilt with a sort of 8 point star design. It is 29" by 38" and is string tied. Because it is string tied rather than quilted to the back it is lumpy and a little out of shape. Other than that it is in pretty good condition with one small 1" open seam. It has not been cleaned and has general soiling and a light stain. A sweet little quilt here made in the early 1940s by a farm wife for her little girl. The child now grown.Is going into assisted living and remembers when her Mother brought out many pieces of saved fabrics in all different colors to make the pieces that makes up her quilt. Selling my collection of little vintage and antique quilts. Wonderful antique doll quilt not later than the 1940's. Strip pattern of 1/2" blocks. Hardly used. Crisp and not washed. Fabrics are mostly feedsacks and some earlier prints. Backing and ground is a creamy muslin. Some photos show dark areas on the muslin ground. But those are only lighting shadows, as shown in last photo. All cotton with light cotton batting. Pink edging. All hand-sewn. Overall size is 21" square. Up for auction is a very old. Very interesting handmade doll quilt. The more I look at the fabric pieces, the more I love this quilt! The pattern is traditional, but the fabric pieces are quite special. I’ve taken a lot of photos so you can see for yourself. This cheerful quilt is trimmed in a tiny pink polka dot edging. This lovely doll quilt came from an old country farmhouse in the Northeast and has been stored for many years in a pet-free, smoke-free home. Condition: Very good condition for its age. Up for auction is a very old doll quilt made of flannel or flannelette. I can just picture a mother fashioning this 14 ½ X 20 inch quilt for her little girl’s doll out of left-over flannel. One side is one whole piece of fabric and the other side is pieced in 5 sections. It is hand tied with coral colored floss. I have taken pictures indoors and out. In natural light to try to give you a true color. The background is gray with a cream print, which actually looks more ecru than cream. There are some age"shadows" more than spots, which some people say gives age character) but they are not pronounced as the print is more of an ecru color than what shows in the photos. A Small Piece Of Unused Turkey Red& Yellow Fabric Circa 1880 It Measures 1 1/2" Long And 30" Wide The pattern is dyed not woven. There is nothing wrong with this fabric except that I wish I had 10 or 12 yards of it! It is not dried out or friable. And the centers of the design have not popped. You can still feel the sizing in the fabric. This fabric may be long and thin. But I think you could use it to repair reds in some red, green, and white quilts or trim dolls' dresses. VINTAGE APPLIQUED DOLL QUILT~THE COLONIAL LADY PATTERN~CHECKERBOARD FRAMING~
Offered is a sweet doll quilt from between the 1940 and 1950s which is done in a solid aqua and an aqua floral print fabric. All on a white ground. This light weight"The Colonial Lady" pattern quilt measures approximately 23 inches by 21 inches, with very nicely done applique work. The quilt is hand quilted with approximately 7 to 8 even stitches per inch. The center design measures approximately 10 inches by 8 inches, and to set her off, she is framed with a one inch wide checkerboard design. Her neck area, arms and the little nosegay flowers are hand painted. The border outside of the checkerboard design is hand quilted in a one inch grid while the area around the lady is quilted with a floral design. The back is from the same white fabric as used on the front. The separate narrow white binding is machine stitched to the front ... moreand then hand stitched onto the back. Freshly laundered and ready to use, ideal for cutting, unpicking for doll's clothes, design reproduction, design study and quilting study ~ also wonderful for any timeworn interior ~*~ ~ this lovely antique French quilt dates c1880 ~The patterns of quilting on this textile are GORGEOUS ~ wonderful hand stitched and hand quilted ~ this lovely little quilt has two sides, one side has a beautiful circular bottle cap design with red and eggplant purple. This side is a medium weight, gentle twill weave cotton. The backing is a shirting cotton, with lovely thin stripes buff pink and eggplant purple with off-white ground. This quilt has many stains and is best saved for the above purposes only. I had one of these a few weeks ago. But this is a little different design. The tag says Boyds Bears and Friends Quilt 100 percent Cotton, 1996. This seems to be mint in package and had a price tag of fourteen dollars or so on it, but I will start cheaper here. This is about 8 3/8 inches square.
