BEAUTIFUL OLD TURKEY RED & COTTAGE WHITE WOVEN QUILT 85"x99" + 4" FRINGE - VGC
This early turkey red and cottage white woven coverlet was bought at an Amish estate sale in Berks County. Pennsylvania. It is about 85"x99" in size not including the dense 4" turkey red fringe on three of the coverlets sides. I have examined it several times and I did not find and soiling or thinning- it is heavy and absolutely gorgeous. There are eagles with outstretched wings, shields, arrows, florals, and more in this reversible coverlet. Please view all photos. Handling fee is $4 which includes insurance. Antique Hand Made Red White Quilt 64x82" 1920's As Is
I have for auction a wonderful old quilt from the early 1900'3. It displays an interesting pattern all done in bright red on white; stitching on this quilt is superb; measures approx. 82x64" it is very worn but still lovely. Came to me along with the old red camp blanket I have presently on Ebay. Red must have been a favorite color in that household. It would have taken months to accomplish all of the hand stitching on this quilt; for its age it is still in reasonable condition although it is very worn down to the batting; nevertheless an interesting old piece of the conniseur of quilts or the collector. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO FADING ON THE QUILT ~ IN SOME OF PICS IT LOOKS LIKE A LITTLE BIT OF FADING BUT IT'S IN MY DIGITAL. A white-out. GUARANTEED. ALSO. WHAT YOU SEE PEEKING OUT ALONG SIDE OF QUILT IS FRINGE ON A RUG THAT WAS UNDERNEATH THE QUILT. Fab T-Square(T is for temperance ~ women didn't have a voice in the 1880's but could sure speak out in their handwork) antique quilt, 68" square(perfect for hanging or for a twin bed or back of a chair, etc. from Spartanburg County, S.C. all the bells and whistles of a Southern textile village"Sunday best" quilt right down to the stitching, which is in the Southern traditional"ocean waves. In favored red and white calicos, all by hand, 2 interesting little cutout appliques in the sashing. Binding is in plaid fabric(Alamance Plaid? and there are several little"nips" ... moreor"bites" in the binding, not really noticeable unless you're looking for them- in one of the pics you'll see one I'm holding. Quilt is all cotton, all by hand. Backing is a tiny black or deep navy and white check, it's hard to tell which; and there is a very small fragile place not far off center in back that has"rubbed" away, showing us the wonderful cotton from the fields that was used for batting. On front I found 2 tannish small stains(see pics) ~ backing has several tannish stains which I couldn't pick up on the digital ~ all of the above I'm 99% sure could be removed with a good soaking in the proper product or, if you choose not to, hardly noticeable because of the graphic nature of the quilt. And that, my friends, tells what I know of the story of this so-graphic and beautiful piece of Southern folk art. Descripti on: Bea utiful red& white blazing star quilt. This is a really nice one. Made somewhere betwe en 1860& 1880. Clam shell stitching. It is all hand sewn at 8-10 SPI. The red is true red color. the background is a creamy white. There are 12 blocks of stars. The quilt measures 77-1/2 X 67. Condition: I can't find much wrong with this quilt outside of a faded fold line down the center& a few very small spots or light stains. I had a tough time fin ding them even searching in very bright light. Not at all noticeable. I believe you can see the center fold line fading in the 5th picture. Shipping: I ship Tuesdays. Bold and spectacular ca 1900 patchwork red & white star quilt, 7 SPI
Offered here without reserve is this bold and graphic ca 1900 patchwork star quilt that measures 79 1/2" x 71 1/2" and quilted at 7 SPI. The red is solid and unfaded. Nor are there any repairs to this piece. Indeed, I suspect from its suppleness, that she's never been washed. However, although there are no holes, repairs, or tears, there is s ome subtle staining(loo ks to me to be water staining. Definitely not blood) and thus she could use a cleaning(see my last 4 pictures) But again, though, there is no reserve, although buyer pays $16 for priority USPS domestic shipping.

This is an auction for a VINTAGE/ANTIQUE RED WHITE& BLUE PATCHWORK QUILT- 62"x80" HANDMADE in MISSOURI. The majority of the 3 1/2" finished blocks are made of vintage cotton fabrics mainly red. White, blue in color- but there are a few blocks of greens, yellows. browns also in the quilt. The backing& edging are done in white cotton and the filling appears to be a white flannel(lightweight) The quilt is EXTREMELY OLD. Although I do not know the exact date of when it was made. It was my grandmother-in-law's quilt and she was born in 1901. My husband remembers her having this quilt& just knows that it something that she made. And obviously lovingly used. She lived her entire life in the"Lead Belt" area of the state of Missouri, south of St. Louis. This quilt is completely hand quilted. But finished in ... morea machine stitched binding. The quilt is NOT IN PERFECT CONDITION. There are some stains. Some tears& rips, some missing binding on the edges. The back side is not in as good of condition as the front side. As some of the back fabric is well- worn and has deteriorated. I'm guessing that is why there appears to be an 8 1/2" binding( on one end of the quilt- maybe to reinforce the back side where the fabric was damaged. But why she would also put it across the front side I don't understand. Maybe it was meant to designate the head of the bed where the pillows were to lie on top. I'm not sure- the quilt blocks underneath that strip do not appear to be damaged. A mystery that will never be solved, as Grandma died years ago, before I had the quilt and could ask questions from her. There are no musty smells and it has always been in pet-free. Smoke-free homes. Check the pictures carefully to see where I have tried to picture some of the damages. I have not made any attempt to repair or clean it. Early Red and White Pieced Quilt - 10 Hand Stitches per Inch
You are bidding on an early pieced red and white quilt. It is bordered and has 10 hand stitches per inch. The pattern appears to be an Irish chain variation with some of the pieces being elliptical in shape. It measures 73 by 82 inches and the red is the early printed material. There is one tiny spot that has a few stains which I photographed. It also has a piece added to the back that if allowed it to be hung at one time. It can easily be removed. Great quilting and form on this early quilt. I don't see any holes or tears and the fabric has been washed over the years and it still has nice color. This quilt could be called Crossroads. Lily Pond, Fancy Flowers, Lily’s corner, crows feet, etc. It’s a heavily, hand quilted and hand pieced red and white beauty. Its soft, thin, and cozy. It measures 62” X 80” It is quilted at 10-11 stitches per inch. There is triple parallel stitching at 1/8” intervals throughout the quilt. It also has feathering throughout. As you can see from the photos, It has an age spot on the front. Besides this, it's very clean and smells good. There’s an age spot on the back that you can see from the photos. I think I’ve represented the quilt problems in the photos well. The binding is worn. The integrity of the fabrics are sturdy with some small stains and ¼” hole in the top(see photo) I’ve included photos of all of these. My price reflects the condition. Red White and Blue Butterfly cotton cross stitch quilt
From an estate here in Nevada. We have for sale this 82 inch x 102 inch cotton quilt. It is totally hand stitched and the pattern is a red and blue cross stitched butterfly on a white background, each of the 12 butterflies is double banded in a nice blue color. I don't know the age of this quilt, only that the little lady is now in a rest home and she either collected it during her life or inherited it from her mother. This feels crisp and the white is very white on the top, with only some slight yellowing on the underside. It may be just from storage, and could just wash out. Antique Cotton Red and White Geometric Applique QUILT, "Arrowhead" design
This antique quilt is pictured on a double(full-sized) bed. To give an idea of size. Measures approximately 74" x 75" Generally good condition, bright fabric, with all major flaws shown in close up, the most noticeable being the spots on the underside(they also appear on the red side, but do not detract in a major way there) Some white areas especially along edges have light grayish areas which I do not believe are dirt(see sixth photo) There is wear to the point of separation all along the binding of the piece. It is expertly hand embroidered with redwork on a crisp white background. There are poppies. Water lily, flower baskets, a fleur de lis, scrolls, and more embroidered in the center. The edge is red and white and features a checkerboard pattern in the corners. Masterfully hand quilted at 11-12 stitches per inch. There is 1" single rods. Braiding, and flowers quilted throughout. Vintage Antique Heavy Handmade Quilt Red & White Cotton & Daisy Back
This is a beautiful handmade quilt in red and white cotton. The pieces are machine stitched and yarn has been pulled through to tie. The back is a very pretty raised daisy design also in cotton. There are no rips or worn spots. Material is in great condition. I tried to take a photo of every spot I could find, some are very small and didn't show up too well. This quilt has not been laundered so the spots may come out. Also, the photo shows a bright red, it is a bright red bud not as florescent as the photo, the white is very white. It measures 66.5" x 72" It is filled with turkey red fabrics on a cream background. It is hand quilted at 6 stitches per inch. Hand pieced and hand bound in tan. Filled with a thin cotton batting. There are visible cotton seed fragments in the batting when it is held to the light. Very good condition. Freshly hand laundered. There are 2 small repairs. The back is white cotton and there's minimal if any batting. The binding is white cotton applied on both sides by machine. 80" x 76" Thin and Lightweight. This quilt has rarely if ever been used. There are a couple spots on it which you can see in the pictures. Maybe coffee? They would probably come out. I have not attempted that myself. Descripti on: Early 1900's Irish chain quilt. The yellow fabric is dotted fa bric that is dotted with red. The fabric is brought around to make the binding. This quilt is thin& has a nice crisp feel to it. It is hand stitched at 9 SPI in a double grid. Feather& floral stitching. The quilt measures 81 X 81. A really nice quilt! Condition: There is one yellow square that has a tinge of fading on it(shown) There is also a dark spot. But it is on the reverse side of the quilt. You can handily see it and it may not show up on the photo. The hand-sewn Red Star quilt top measures 82" x 94"comes from a Ridgefield Ct Estate sale. The red color is vibrant and the white sheeting strong with very little isolated age-yellowing that is hard to spot. This is a lovely example of American quilting.

The pattern is called Poinsettia and it is attributed to Old Chelsea Station Needlecraft Service. The quilt measures approximately 73" X 84" The quilt has pulled out of the binding near one corner for abou 1 1/2" That would be a simple repair. There are two larger stains that encompass most of two blocks(lots of pictures of the larger stains) There are also two areas with several very small spots. I have not tried to clean the stains. The top appears to have been hand-pieced before layering and quilting. Quilting stitches, also worked by hand, average 12 stitches per inch, counting both the top and bottom stitches. Antique Red and White Applique Tulip Quilt
14.00 Here is a wonderful hand sewn applique quilt with scalloped border. So many tiny stitches went in to the quilting and applique of this lovely old quilt. There are forty eight red tulips on tan stems against a white background. In groups of three per stem. Seventeen of the tulips or stem have some wear or shredding to the fabric. Some is fairly minor and some more apparent. The background appears to have fared well with several small holes to the top of the quilt seen in one area. Most of the background is in good condition, as is the backing. There is one good sized pale discoloration or area of soiling, which looks like yellowing or browning. There is also one area of binding which needs to be re sewn. I would not consider this quilt to be a cutter, however it could benefit from a little T.L.C. Antique WILD GOOSE CHASE Red White Gingham Handmade Hand Stiched Quilt 67" X 70"
This Auctions is for A Early 1900's Handmade Patchwork Quilt. Wild Goose Chase Quilt" ~ Measures approx. 67 inches X 70 inches. Fabric used is red and white gingham and unbleached cotton muslin. Entire quilt was pieced together by hand with hand top stitching at 9-10 stitches per inch. There is one patch repair on side outer edge and one small repair on this quilt(shown at end of ruler) Appears to have had an outer binding attached at some point in time(binding was attached with treadle stitches) binding shows signed of wear. No other rips. Tears or stubborn stains. Light yellowing consistent with age. Fabric still nice and strong. Very pretty quilt for those who are partial to red and whites! Primitive Pillow 7 by 7 Red White Blue Star Antique Cutter Quilt Indigo
A fantastic primitive pillow made from a beautiful antique quilt square. The old fabrics are beautiful. The horseshoe print on the red fabric is really fun. The hand stitches on this quilt are amazing. I think you can see that in the photos. However. Too many worn spots mean the quilt can't be used-the fabric on the plain squares setting these blocks was completely shattered. So I've made pillows to be used as decorations-on your bed or chair, or in a basket. The pillow is about 7" by 7" The corners are slightly boxed, to give the pillow a nice shape. The pillows are stuffed with new bamboo fiberfill. The pillow has a complementary antique/vintage button sewn in the middle. STUNNING Antique RED and WHITE QUILT TOP 86"x74" HANDS ALL AROUND/TURKEY TRACKS
Antique Vintage STUNNING highly collectible TURKEY RED and WHITE Quilt Top with provenance. This top was all precisely Hand-pieced by Agnes Green born 1900-1982 of Chicago. Illinois, see the last pix, probably around 1920. It is 86" by 74" inches with 2 sides having a white 5 inch pieced border. There are 24 HANDS ALL AROUND or sometimes called Turkey-Tracks. 10 inch blocks. Other names that fit are Maple Crown and Wandering Foot. Excellent condition. Clean and sturdy. I found that there are two tiny holes, less that an eraser size, and someone did a small temporary repair/marked the spot, shown in pix#9 and#10, using a red patch on the back. A GORGEOUS QUILT TOP! VINTAGE FEEDSACK FABRIC 29½ x 27½ Yellow Red Blue White QUILT Repair
Here is a piece of fabric. Looks to me to be feedsack that was opened out and made into a small table cloth by adding red hem binding. Table cloth was used, there are 2 stains about 1” wide, some small dark spots, one tiny hole and a couple of pin size holes, and there is fading. Even with these issues, it is still strong fabric, and a lot of fabric for vintage style projects, for a new quilt or perfect for restoring/repairing an old one. Hope you can use it. Antique Cotton 1890's red and white star quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted. Measuring 82 x 66 in nice condition no rips or tears. There are some spots. Please see photos. Quilt is thin weight is 3lbs. I'm not a quilt expert so please use photos as a reference. There was a little pcs of paper pinned to it long ago that said 1890. Beautiful pillow made from an antique quilt piece. The backing and stuffing are new and the front is from an old quilt. The quilt pieces were all hand washed in woolite prior to making the pillows. Antique Red and White Quilt Patchwork Hand Quilted c 1920s
Antique Red& White Quilt Hand pieced and hand quilted. Red with white polka dots fabric is circa 1910-1925. Measures 74 x 76 inches. No musty odors. This block has two common names(maybe more) Duck Foot" and/or"Cross and Crown. Block size is 9 inches. Sashing is five(5) inches wide and is quilted in a feather pattern. Very good solid condition showing no signs of wear. No holes. No thin areas, no fraying to binding. Cotton fabric is soft and smooth. Batting is lightweight. When held to light, there is evidence of cotton seeds/hulls. I consider this a summer quilt. Provenance unknown as I purchased from an antique store several years ago. Quilt stitches are neat& tidy; 16 to 18 stitches per inch(top& bottom) Rows of quilting are close together making the appearance of a nice scrunchy look. Quilt lays flat. Binding was ... moreattached by machine. Concerns to consider that prevent it from being described as mint: there is one age spot along one side of quilt. Some of the red threads from the blocks have been sewn into the batting. Not noticeable from a distance. Can be seen when quilt is viewed closely. Along edges and on back. There is some general pale yellowing to fabric. I would consider it"off-white. I have pictured edge along side an ecru maltese coverlet that I have on my bed. All concerns are pictured. Quilt has been in my collection for approximately 6 years. It was only out as display during Christmas holidays. It was then stored in a closet wrapped in a pillow case. I have never laundered quilt as I felt there was not a need. If I were to keep quilt and display more often. I would gently soak in cold water in the bathtub and air dry. I have tested a corner of the red fabric to make sure it would not bleed onto white. It appears to be colorfast. When fabric is wet, the red seam allowance is visible. Although. I am not a quilt appraiser, I am knowledgeable about antique and vintage quilts. Books I use for references are: Dating Fabrics" by Eileen Jahnke Trestain and"Carrie Hall

Older Antique or Vintage Quilt Coverlet- Hand made- Patchwork Hand stitched work- beautiful squares of red and off white. Off white and some faded prints of black and off white- one fabric almost completely faded. Condition- Good to Fair. From an Attic Trunk- Definite wear and tear from age and use as shown. Appears to be cotton. Cute faded detailed prints- Pictures taken inside, no flash. Size- Measures 64" by 78" No batting or heavy inbetween- lighter in weight. Will need TLC. Or buy as is- character in this old piece has fray and yellowing, stained fold in center. 19th Century Antique Tulip Quilt - Red and White
This is a gorgeous antique appliqued tulip quilt in solid red and white cottons. The quilting is about 12 stitches to the inch. The quilt's binding is worn and there are stains on the back but they do not show on the front and they do not detract from the beauty of this quilt. There are tiny holes in one corner. This quilt is a rare find. I would date this between 1830 and 1875. Hard to do with the colors but the texture of the fabrics give me the date. STOCKING from 1880s QUILT~FUNDAMENTAL NINE PATCH~RED & WHITE~DENSE QUILTING~
I have had several requests from many of my wonderful stocking buyers who are avid year round Christmas shoppers. For me to make and list my stockings year round so that they can get a head start! This stocking was made from a wonderful turkey red and white"Fundamental Nine Patch" pattern quilt from around the 1880s. Give or take a few years. This quilt was hand pieced with teeny stitches and densely hand quilted with about 9 to 10 stitches per inch.lovely precise stitches. This stocking measures approximately 19 inches long. 11 inches from heel to toe, and about 8 inches across the top opening. I've made the back of the stocking out of the same quilt so it can be hung with the toe pointing left or right. It is fully lined with no seams showing using vintage sheeting.the hanger is a grosgrain ribbon. To give the stocking more ... morestability for all of those special treats, I've interfaced both the front and the back pieces. The lining has ample give from top to toe for those heavier little treats! Being a purist at heart. I love the traditional stocking shapes. The workmanship and original beauty of this quilt lets this stocking stand alone.no frills or embellishments are needed. Super great all year to hold magazines in your guest or that special room for you or your guests to enjoy, in your kitchen filled with vintage utensils, hostage gifts filled with treats, great for the patriotic decor.there are so many creative ways to display them!
