Vintage Handmade Hand Quilted Blue Flower Basket Feedsack Full Cotton Quilt Description. Vintage hand made flower basket quilt. All cotton fabrics in solids and prints. I believe feedsacks as well but am no expert and will let you be the judge. Striping in blue with red squares. It is all hand quilted. Backed in a wonderful cotton fabric in white. Navy blue and red with birds leaves and geometric medallion designs. It is a medium or heavy weight winter quilt. The quilt top is in excellent condition, I noticed just a couple of small faint spots. The back has some repairs around the edge. The repairs are machine stitched and it looks as though it was done before the back was put on. The edge stitching was not undone anywhere and the machine repair stitching does not go threw to the front. There are also a a few small holes just started around ... morethe edge. Hand pieced 1 1/4" square pieces with great novelty prints including a girl blowing a bubble and birds singing. It has 1 1/4" grid quilting in the body and chain quilted borders. Hand quilted at 6-7 stitches per inch and hand bound. Thin cotton batting. All cotton construction. It measures 79" x 76 1/2" Hand quilted in blue thread. This quilt has a few small flaws: 2 small repairs. 2 small seam separations, slight wear in the binding, slight age spotting and a tiny hole on the back as shown in photo's, overall this is a strikingly beautiful quilt and the flaws are hard to find! VINTAGE/ANTIQUE RED WHITE & BLUE PATCHWORK QUILT- 62"x80" - HANDMADE in MISSOURI
This is an auction for a VINTAGE/ANTIQUE RED WHITE& BLUE PATCHWORK QUILT- 62"x80" HANDMADE in MISSOURI. The majority of the 3 1/2" finished blocks are made of vintage cotton fabrics mainly red. White, blue in color- but there are a few blocks of greens, yellows. browns also in the quilt. The backing& edging are done in white cotton and the filling appears to be a white flannel(lightweight) The quilt is EXTREMELY OLD. Although I do not know the exact date of when it was made. It was my grandmother-in-law's quilt and she was born in 1901. My husband remembers her having this quilt& just knows that it something that she made. And obviously lovingly used. She lived her entire life in the"Lead Belt" area of the state of Missouri, south of St. Louis. This quilt is completely hand quilted. But finished in ... morea machine stitched binding. The quilt is NOT IN PERFECT CONDITION. There are some stains. Some tears& rips, some missing binding on the edges. The back side is not in as good of condition as the front side. As some of the back fabric is well- worn and has deteriorated. I'm guessing that is why there appears to be an 8 1/2" binding( on one end of the quilt- maybe to reinforce the back side where the fabric was damaged. But why she would also put it across the front side I don't understand. Maybe it was meant to designate the head of the bed where the pillows were to lie on top. I'm not sure- the quilt blocks underneath that strip do not appear to be damaged. A mystery that will never be solved, as Grandma died years ago, before I had the quilt and could ask questions from her. There are no musty smells and it has always been in pet-free. Smoke-free homes. Check the pictures carefully to see where I have tried to picture some of the damages. I have not made any attempt to repair or clean it. The backing is a light blue stripe. This is shown on a Queen bed. Measures approx 92 x 89 Edge all around is a nice strip design that sets off the log cabin blocks. Vintage Cotton Hand Quilted Orange & Blue Bowtie Quilt
Welcome to my auction. This auction is for a vintage Orange And Blue Bowtie quilt. It has nice bright colors. It is hand quilted and nicely made. It is a light weight quilt. It measures 73” x 83” The backing is white. It is in good condition with a few minor flaws. There is a tiny hole about ¼” in diameter and a few spots/stains. I have not tried to clean it. So I have no idea what might or might not wash out. The stains are more noticeable on the back of the quilt. The colors in the close up pictures are more true colors as the full picture of the quilt the sun makes It look washed out. It is not. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions prior to bidding. Backing is a white cotton. The star appears to be all hand pieced. While the border may be machine stitched. The edges of the quilt are turned in and machine stitched together. Hand quilted, made of cottons and is a thin quilt. This very old quilt has a good bit of wear around the edges. The body of the quilt looks pretty good. Fabrics strong-there is some light discoloration overall. Really nice for country or primitive display. Nice size- it is pictured on a queen size bed-more details below. Pattern/design-pinwheel star. 72" sq, hand pieced and hand quilted, thin, cotton, white cotton backing- Damage-has light age discoloration and thinning. Worn, torn fabric on all edges. Vintage quilt top - blue and brown - 61 inches by 90 inches
This vintage quilt top measures 61 inches by 90 inches. The 4-patch units measure 5 to 5.25 inches. The 4-patch unit with borders measures 9 inches. There are 28 blocks. The Cadet blue/indigo blue fabric is fragile and rips easily. I would not recommend using this fabric as part of a quilt; it's purpose is more educational. One section of blue fabric along the border is missing(photo 3) There is color loss in the gold/tan fabric bordering each 4-patch unit(photos 7 and 8) Some of the 4-patch units appear faded. Others have vibrant color. The top is stained and grubby. The top was assembled by hand and machine(last photo) possibly more than one person sewed the blocks and/or top. In my opinion, the best part of this quilt top are the 4-patch units.

Very well made in in fantastic condition. soft subtle blue and white, there is some fading here and there but no significant damage at all, I found a few missed stitches and an ink stain on the underside that shows v ery little on the top side. Quilt has thin batting with mild separation but it is not lumpy, quilt is clean from a pet and smoke free estate, I have not laundered it and there are 2 light spots that should soak out with a little oxy. Tied every 2" and measures 78 x 64" Main part is in good condition but edges are worn and need to be resewn along seam in quite afew spots. Only two holes shown in pictures 10& 11 and they are both out on the very edge. Very thick batting inside and weighs 5 lbs. Very nice vintage satin or satin-like reversible quilt having a light pink background with blue. Green and darker pink flowers and designs on one side and a solid medium blue on the reverse side. As I am looking at the blue side. I see multiple thread knots leading me to believe that this cover was hand-quilted. I think that it was machine-stitched together, tho. There are a number of discolorations. Mostly noted, on the pink side and an area on the blue side. Please view the photos closely, as they will show the areas. The photos are part of my description. I did not find any rips. Holes or tears after careful inspection. There is no identifying label to show the maker or the washing instructions. However. Beautifully decorated with floral and leaf print on all over the sari along with zari weaving on border of the saree. This sari is also adorned with check pattern on sari. Print color includes green. Brown and pink. Fabric of the sari is soft and strong. Hemming is done but fall is not attached with the sari. Three very pretty pillows made from a beautiful antique quilt. The hand stitches on this quilt are very nice. I think you can see that in the photos. However. Too many worn spots mean the quilt can't be used. So I've made these pretty pillows to be used as decorations-on your bed or chair, or in a basket. Maybe in a baby's room? Each pillow is about 5" by 5" I take the extra time to box the corners, to give the pillow a nice finished shape. The pillows are stuffed with new fiberfill. Hand Made Vintage Quilt 1923 Primitive Blue Large Size - Beautiful work
This is a gorgeous quilt. My Grandmother made it in 1923 and that is stitched on the quilt. I have had it for years and never used it. So it's time to go to someone who will. It's a nice white. I didn't see any flaws in the stitching. It has a small mark on the backside. It does not show through on the front. There is a slight yellow mark that barely shows on the front. You can't see it in the photo at all. But it's 89 years old. This will fit a double bed nicely and would work okay on a Queen. Measures 72 x 86ish.
