ANTIQUE 1880-1890's Patchwork Quilt EXCELLENT Condition! Quilted with black thread. Wonderful maroon with white backing! Not sure of the name. It's like a Jack-in-the-Box but with 4-Patch on the corners. If you know the name please let me know. Condition: Quilt is like new. Never washed and fabrics still have a wonderful crispness to them. THE SASHING APPEARS TO HAVE FADED. Can't quite figure it out. Think maybe the fabric was already like that when it was used as sashing so was it originally like that with intentional fading. Nothing else on the quilt is faded. All in wonderful like new condition. The other fabrics may have been left over from other projects BUT was not used fabric then put into this quilt. Reverse side, binding& border were redone in the late 1920's Size- 72" x 81" Full Binding- Mint condition. Construction- Heavily quilted. Well made& sturdy, tight quilting of the blocks. SPI- 7- 10 spi. Condition- Wonderful condition for it's antique age. One small worn area on the reverse side Up for your consideration is a beautiful antique quilt in wonderful condition. Wild Geese" I fell in love with this one at first sight, the colors are awesome- crimson, deep green& soft off white. The pattern is a classic and on this quilt the center frame was done in the mid to late 1800's, the reverse, large binding& borders were redone in the late 1920's. Only 1 small defect on the reverse side, a tiny worn area, which is hard to see. Someone took very good care of this quilt. Up for auction is a 1940's baby quilt that measures 55 x 37. The quilt is white with 15 multicolored appliqued Sun Bonnet Sue's 8" tall. The fabrics are all cotton and many are feed sack if not all. The quilt is hand stitched and hand quilted. The back is solid white. There are no holes. Fraying or fading. There are no spots on the front but the back does have some spots that I have shown in the pictures. The batting in the quilt is thick and in very good condition. Antique patchwork qui lt- a very large cotton patchwork bedspread/ throw. Dates from around 1850/1860 with a few earlier fabrics. Size: King size- with plenty of overhang. 100% Cotton patchwork- all hand stitched- with patterned border. Reverse side is plain cream cotton. Pretty muted colours& prints- paisley. Floral, etc. Condition is commensurate with age. Ie poor condition- the patches are showing signs of wear all over(as shown) so certainly not perfect but heaps of work has gone into this- a genuine one-off piece. OUTSTANDING Antique Abstract Patchwork Quilt ~ 1920's / 30's - GREAT CONDITION
This colorful antique patchwork quilt is from a local estate. It is in excellent condition and appears never to have been used or washed. It is clean and odor free. It was pieced partly by hand with some machine piecing. It was quilted by hand. The only thing that I have found to report are a few very very light and small tea color spots that may have been on the fabrics before they became part of the quilt. There are some feedsack prints and the blue pin stripe saching strips look like vintage shirt fabric. All of the fabric are in very good condition. The unbleached muslin feedsack backing was turned to the front to form a very narrow binding. The soft cotton batting is medium weight. It quilt is 74 by 78 inches.

Antique Springport Michigan Folk Art Historical Old Signed Patchwork Crazy Quilt
Offering today a fantastic historical quilt from Springport Michigan. This folk art quilt is hand stitched with signatures from many many Springport residents. I am not sure when the quilt was started. However I did find one dated 1927. There are roughly 250-275 names of both men and women. Measures approx 76" x 64" I am not a quilt expert but this appears to have a stitched pocket on the back(top and bottom) to hang on a wall. I am not sure if this is considered a topper. But it is not real thick. The center square has most of the stitching missing but almost all of the other squares are very good. There are a couple tears and and edge wear spots. I found one square that has been removed. There are no moth holes or smells. Colors are clean and brilliant. Antique English 1800's hand stitched patchwork Durham quilt - chintz fabrics
You are buying an antique hand stitched cotton patchwork Durham quilt- king size- in chintz floral fabrics This is called Grandmothers garden design I think- hexagons stitched together to form florettes and then the pathways in between are made up of plain hexagons. The hexagons are 2.5" wide. There are 28 of the brown hexagons that have some wear- see last photo for an idea of the worst one. Could be replaced or used as is. Light weight cotton batting or wadding and hand stitched throughout. The quilt is quilted with a wholecloth design with a centre medallion however the design does not show up well on the patchwork side. The quilt is mainly in excellent antique condition- apart from the damaged hexagons the edges are intact with no sign of wear or whiskering. The reverse side is antique white. Description Please scroll down to see all pics. A pretty and charming antique. C. 1920's-1930's, hand patched& hand quilted cotton patchwork quilt in the double wedding ring pattern. Maker added her own detail of a light mint green ruffle all around the scalloped edge, gives it an additional romantic cottage detail. Nice fabric prints in mostly still pretty vibrant colors, some of the light colored fabric used is quite light, luckily maker used mostly the brighter pretty colors. Hand stitched quilting is even but not fine by any means but it does the job. Thin batting. But still this is a heavy-ish quilt. Backside is about half blue cotton and half white with a thin edge of blue on the white side. Not sure if that was a practical or aesthetic consideration by the maker. No holes. Worn spots or tears that I found, fabric is sound. ... moreI dont think that this quilt has ever been washed, if so not more than once or twice. There are areas of spotting/ stains, some possibly from storage. I have shown just about every one, the worst being a stained spot near the pillow or foot end, depending. Some stain drops on back which look like blood drops. I think these stains& spotting could be lightened significantly or lifted with pre-treatment before a good long soak& gentle wash. I am leaving this to the new owner or I may never get the quilt listed. Measures approx. 80" x 90" Love the coloring& pattern. The all around ruffle& the fact that it is all hand sewn. FANTASTIC ANTIQUE BOW TIE PATCHWORK QUILT POST CIVIL WAR BEAUTY
This antique quilt is c. 1870 and it is still a beauty without any worn fabrics. Its a wonderful bow tie variation using small 1.5" triangles and 2" squares. Its pieced on antique cotton, still crisp. colors are mainly several browns, several reds including a leaf print which is gorgeous, a few indigos in the piece work, and some stripes. Each block is 8" all set on point, 25 blocks total. Each piece is hand quilted in the ditch and then the squares are hand quilted in an X shape. I have shown two blocks which i think either show some fabric fading or there are two prints in varying colors. I am pretty sure the stripe shown in pic 11 is fade. I am less sure about pic10 which shows the red and brown variation. No color bleed though! Beautiful hand quilting in the white blocks. Feather wreathes done at 10 spi. True old time craftsmanship ... moreon this beauty and its entirely hand pieced including the border and both sides of the binding. The backing is also ecru cotton. Made of 2 pieces also hand sewn together-what a lot of work! The batting is a very thin cotton. The binding is a classic white dot on blue and its pencil thin, done entirely by hand and in excellent unworn condition. It does have several stains. Most small and I have not been brave enough to wash it. One is a deep brown on the border. There are several small light stains and one water stain that involves two blocks, its actually appears darker in the photos, much less noticeable in person. Even with the stains this is an incredible post civil war find. Satisfaction is always guaranteed. Antique patchwork T quilt, excellent condition 100 years old
This is a fab 1910 T quilt with chain lightening sashing. Absolutely gorgeous fabrics: indigos. Shirtings, clarets and that amazingly saturated black which has the sheen of silk but I think its cotton. Blocks are hand pieced. Hand quilted at 8spi The backing is an old green print fabric put together in 3 panels and one lower corner is black cotton-not a repair. The quilt is unwashed condition. I imagine the maker was just short of fabric and used what was on hand. You will see that in just one T block on the front also. Its the black and white pattern T and parts of the block are made with pink cotton while other parts are a pink print.The rest of the blocks are very uniform. This is a heavy winter quilt. I suspect its a wool filling or else its a very heavy cotton wadding. The edges are turned and machine sewn. I assume that is the original ... moreedge. No wear. The only imperfections on this quilt are a few tiny spots as shown in just one block and some light fade to the cranberry lightening on one side. Oddly enough the blocks arent at all faded in this areas so maybe the fabric pieces were faded to begin with. I have tried to show this area isn pics 10& 11. No holes or wear or issue. It measures 74" x 84" an absolutely wonderful antique piece great for upcoming fall weather too.

Stunning Antique Pinwheel Quilt Amazing 19th century. Hand stitched, indigo blue and white cotton antique quilt in a pinwheel design. This quilt has approximately 10 or more stitches per inch, they are so tiny and so close together that it is almost impossible to count them. Rare, handmade, all cotton quilt with cotton batting. Condition: Old. With wear, some bits on the quilt the fabric has worn down and one can see the cotton batting, but this does not take away from the beauty of this old charmer. The wear is in various place, as well as areas that are in excellent vintage condition. White background with white backing and indigo blue with white dots tiny patchwork pinwheel design make this a really collectible quilt for anyone. Old antique vintage patchwork crazy mourning quilt. 73" x 90" in size. This old quilt is made from woolens and other suit fabrics. A widow would make these from her husband's suits after he passed on. It has a grey flannel backside. The turkey track stitching used to enhance the quilt is loose on some places. It is hand tied and some of those are missing. It has a 4" long tear which is shown in the 3rd picture and a few other small tears that are not real noticeable. For your greatly appreciated consideration is this amazing pink Antique quilt. This was a very interesting estate sale I found this at. It was hand made in the mid 1930's with a big variety of designs. It measures 68" x 80" The backside is light lavender and this quilt is super soft. Quilt is in good vintage condition. I shot pictures of some areas where it looked frayed or patches look like they might need to be repaired. LARGE Antique Abstract / Crazy Patchwork Quilt TOP - Feed Sack Fabrics 74 X 97"
This antique quilt top has a nice colorful group of feed sack and vintage fabrics. Some of the blocks were made in crazy quilt style with several small pieces sewn on a cotton fabric backing. The plain yellow pieces are home dyed muslin Hersey sacks. There are a few blocks with a small tea color spot but since it is a top it would be easy to replace them. It is unwashed but clean and it is 74 by 97 inches.

WOW! I f you are looking for a 100 year old quilt in excellent condition. This is it! This churn dash quilt is just gorgeous and appears to be unused and properly stored for decades. The fabrics are cinnamon pinks. Yellow calico and a calico that might be madder, its brown with a tiny 3 dot red and white print. The brown calico represents the butter churn and the antique yellow calico is symbolic of the block of butter in the churn. this pattern originated in the early to mid 1800's and has always been popular. Lovely hand pieced blocks. Unbleached cotton backing, thin cotton batting. Hand quilted with 10 tiny stitches to the inch in grids and parallel lines. Cotton backing is brought forward and hand closed for a pencil thin edge. Its in immaculate condition. I found one tiny smudge up on the backing right on the edge but it would not ... moreshow up in the pictures. In one block i think there is a slight fade line in the pink fabric this may just be a fabric flaw. It doesnt show in the pics really either but i am mentioning it for accuracy sake. It meassures 80" x 84" A classic for any collection. A great addition to a country home. do note the last 3 pics are not correct for color.

Antique Patchwork CRIB QUILT - Reversible - Hand Pieced & Quilted 32 x 45 inches
This unique antique crib quilt was made in an unusual way. A long narrow quilt top was folded in half. Batting was added and then binding on three sides. It was pieced by hand and on one side the side piece was stitched on by machine. It was all quilted by hand. One long side and the folded end should be rebound. There are a few hand mending stitches her and there that can be seen with the zoom close up. It has thin cotton batting and is clean and odor free, it's size is 32 by 45 inches.

Antique quilt is in pretty good condition considering it's age. This quilt was purchased an an estate sale and we were told all quilts at the sale dated from the mid 1800's to the 1930's period. Antique Vtg Victorian Wool Patchwork Quilt 67 x 85 Plaid Backing Hand Tied Yarn
This is a beautiful. Heavy Victorian wool quilt that is pieced in a staggaered tile pattern and tied with colorful wool yarns. The wool pieces on the face of the quilt include dark blue suiting remnants and a lighter blue heather woven wool. The backing is a blue woven plaid cotton. I don't know what filling is used inside the quilt, but it is quite heavy. There is also a protective piece of Victorian cotton print fabric encasing one end of the quilt. Many older comforters have protective end covers like this that were periodically changed. I've left this cover on because it is in relatively good condition and is made of such a charming vintage cotton print fabric. The new owner may or may not be interested in removing this end cover. The quilt measures 67" x 85. This quilt came from NE Ohio where there are many Amish. Mennonite ... moreand other rural groups with Germanic heritage. The maker is unknown, but the quilt is typical of Germanic-made comforters made in this area. It is in gently used condition with a few minor spots. And a couple of very small holes. This Old Quilt Comforter is nothing but Character! Measuring 76"x75" The top is hand pieced of homespun material, the back is an 1800's blue floral. The condition is Good however. All around the edges have wear, there are a few holes which can be seen in the pictures, they do not go all the way threw. There are also a few spots, I have not washed this quilt, not sure if the stains will come out, they also can be seen in the pictures. Antique Vintage BLOCK STRIP PATCHWORK Quilt- Calicos& Feed Sacks Antique block strip quilt is full of pretty calicoes. Cottons and feed sacks. Nice earthy colors are wonderful! The back is thick canvas like fabric and is brought to the front for the binding. Simply sweet! Measures 80" x 64" Hand quilted. Nice and thick. The front of quilt is in excellent shape. There are some light stains mainly around edge on front. No popped seams and no tears on front. The backside and binding does have several small tears. And there are some stains here and there throughout. Some of these almost look as if they are discoloration instead of stains. Still in great shape and a beautiful antique quilt! Please keep in mind that these are vintage and antique quilts. So there may be some small loose seams and some age related stains. I try to report ... moreas much of this in my descriptions as I can, but may at times not see every little thing. Lots of history and charm in these old quilts.

I'm ready to list lots of lovely old things over the coming weeks. There are quilts, lace, costume, shawls, trimmings& fabric& much more so do take a look at my other listings& check back often. An original Victorian patchwork cover which may have been intended as a quilt top& then not made up. The edges have been hemmed so I guess the maker decided to use it as a cover in its own right. The patchwork is completely random. Just using up whatever scraps of fabric were available. They are all dress-weight printed cottons& include an interesting array of patterns. The stitching is all hand-done. Although it's in over all good, sturdy condition, it has evidently been used as a ... moredust cover at some point& has a few paint spots here& there(I'm always amazed at just how many lovely old textiles carry these sort of scars! However, most of it is unaffected& it's an interesting& decorative piece, ideal to use or as reference material. It could also be used to provide original fabrics for restoring Victorian quilts. He measures 13" X 9" next is the star with a button, it measures 10" X 12" both are made from an antique quilt and are in good used condition, please see pic's. Lastly is a Cat, she is made from newer craft material and measures 9 1/2" X 7 1/2" It too is in good condition. All would make a great display for Halloween! Please see pic's! Dear Customer, After receiving your vintage linens you may want to freshen them with a‘nice bath’ Here are some tips for your‘new’ linens. Each different textile requires different care. Linens should be washed in warm water and gentle detergent with a final cold rinse. Bleach may be used on whites to brighten. Antique linens-use very sparingly& soak. One tablespoon of bleach will sanitize a full wash load. Soaking whites for an hour in detergent& a bit of bleach will help remove stains and then give a gentle wash. Repeated washing sometimes helps lighten stubborn stains with gentle agitation. A 1/5 mix of Fibergard Javex mixed with water and dabbed with a Qtip on tiny spots sometimes helps. Oxy Clean sometimes works wonders but do not use on thin or fine linens. Be careful. Stain removers and rubbing will destroy your vintage linens. Antique fabrics such as lace should Not be washed. Antique 2 SIDED Blue Ridge Mountain QUILT Zigzag & Patchwork 66 X 72"
This lovely antique quilt is from an estate in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. It is all cotton and and has a nice variety of vintage prints and and polka dots. This very unusual quilt, it is 2 sided but in addition the sides are very different styles. The darker side has a lot of polka dot fabrics, tiny pieces and an zigzag pattern. The other side is a patchwork design. There are a few very small tea color spots and there are brown lines in 2 blocks on the one side that are part of the fabric, not stains. There is some fading in the upper corner on the zigzag side. It was partly hand pieced and some was done by machine. It was hand quilted. It's overall condition is very good, it is clean, odor free and 66 by 72 inches. The cotton batting is medium weight and the narrow binding was added and stitched down by hand. Black and blue, that vibrant almost electric combination. Patchwork, cotton, on full size bed so a twin. Too good to put on a bed through- needs to hang out of the sun. That's a statement! As you can see from the photos. There is a variation in the blacks, most likely because of the different materials used which have aged slightly differently and show tonal hues across the spectrum. We personally appreciate the extra life that gives to this very somber and restrained design. Very good condition. We found one pencil eraser tip hole on the back. Which is a greener lighter blue than the front. Otherwise, no open seams, no rips, tears, stains, ... moreother issues. Thin cotton batting. Lays flat. Well quilted in black thread, 7-8 spi one side counted(see ruler in one of the photos) This looks machine pieced. But of course hand quilted. Knife edge folded over and hand stitched as well. Purchased from Ohio dealer's personal collection- no question in our mind that it IS Holmes County and Amish and that the date is about right, Previous owner had a cat and did smoke. So the quilt needs to be aired out, possibly gently soaked(this has been washed in its life, at least according to the way if feels with that polished cotton taking on a softer touch, and the quilting just slightly puffing) We need to photograph outside hanging. But it's thundering so more to come. And we'll show you the plain cotton back as well, Measures about 82x64. While we swoon over 1850s quilts. There is just something truly special about this Amish quilt. It's a work of art peculiar to the Amish quilt making tradition. We never get tired of looking at it- it's one of those that makes your heart go pitter patter. MUCH better on your large wall than a computer generated painting, no? This lovely antique quilt piece was pieced and quilted by hand. It has a nice mellow look and very tiny prints. There are a few 1/2 inch splits in the sashing strips but the blocks are fine. 2 of the edges have binding with some splits the other edges are cut. It has soft lump free medium weight cotton batting. It is clean and odor free. It's size is 19 by 36 inches.
