They are all in very good condition and of course the ones on the cards were never used and are very old and so beautiful presented on old cards. Antique Black Glass Buttons Here is a fantastic collection of antique black glass buttons for sale. Most of the buttons are Victorian with a carved look. A few have an Art Deco look. Most of the buttons have a self shank or metal shank but there is one whistle hole button. There are two that are more beads than buttons. One of which is square and has two holes along the side. The small cross shaped button has a pad shank. Offered for your consideration is a fabulous lot of 18 antique Victorian hand made black jet glass buttons. Each button is approx. 3/4" X 3/8" and are beveled on the edges and appear to be molded and has a self shank. Each one has a carved design on the edge and in the center, and painted gold. Two buttons have a visible chip on one corner, I could not feel or see any others. These are from the Estate of a 99 year old woman that passed in 2001. There were many turn-of-the-century dresses with bustles made with Taffeta, Satin, and Silk and adorned with grosgrain ribbons. Here are 3 beautiful black glass buttons from the 19th century. These are large. 1 1/8th inch across, and decorated with silver luster. These have a design of molded crescent shapes with faceted polygons and dots to resemble cut steel rivets of older style buttons that were steel with rivets. These have applied wire shanks. They are in excellent vintage condition, slight rubbing on the silver luster.
