I cannot ship outside the U.S. I am listing several batches of old buttons from years and years of collecting. They are all in very good condition and of course the ones on the cards were never used and are very old and so beautiful presented on old cards. I would be happy to combine shipping costs should you win more than one auction. All of these old buttons in my opinion are miniature works of art. They are just so beautiful. Lot of 17 Antique Victorian Picture Buttons 11 Lion Set French 6 Large Inlaid, The bidding has begun for a lot of 17 antique Victorian era picture buttons. 11 are a set of lions on original card with French writing on bottom. And the other 6 are older brass looking with inlaid smooth stone or glass maybe of some sort. These came from the estate of a former antique dealer who went out of business in the 1980's. There is a mix of various figural images which you can see in the pictures. I think a lot of them are of French origin, because this estate was full of French antiques. Also some of the buttons are signed Paris or France, not necessarily in this lot, but in some of the several others I have posted. Antique Lithographed Buttons. French Style, Brass, White Metal, Hallmarks Up for sale is a set of two antique buttons depicting styles of the French Revolution in lithographs under celluloid? MARKINGS: There are hallmarks on the underside but I could not make them out. I took detailed close ups. Which I have included and still could not make out what they were. I do believe they are European by the numbers. There are 3 marks on each button. DESCRIPTION: The metal is a brass and white metal filigree. Open work design with tiny flowers. Each button measures 5/8" or 15mm in diameter. One depicts a man in the French costume of that day and the other depicts a woman with a fan. Since this is not my normal area of expertise, I am relying on a book I purchased in order to identify some of the hundreds of buttons I have recently purchased. This auction is for a pair(2) of exquisite delicate antique French Victorian handmade embroidered silk buttons. They consist of lovely pale cream silk wrapped around a wooden base and hand-stitched on the underside. In their centers are a pale silvery blue ribbon trim which is flower-shaped. In the center of each 3/8" flower there is a French knot of metal thread as well as fine loops of metal threads hand-stitched onto the silk surface ground. No two are alike. They are both in good condition and have a lovely patina and very rich appearance. Please note that these are delicate and much smaller than they appear;the silk flower and button's texture is also much finer and not as grainy as shown in photos. They are a rarity and simply gorgeous. I bought these buttons a few years ago from an antique store. I am not a button collector. I use to make jewelry and was going to incorporate them into jewelry. I did some research on the internet and found buttons like these and they described their buttons as" from the 40's. This auction is for a total of four(4) very rare antique velvet buttons(Parisiens) from the pre-Civil War era(1849-1865) The original card that they came from(not included in auction) states that they are circa 1849. I have never seen such exquisite and unique buttons such as these tiny treasures. They are a gorgeous and unique shade of teal blue and have a burlap-like underside. The card says. Antique Original French Buttons on Cards MOP and Porcelain Boutons de Fantasie
Here are five near complete sheets of twenty-four on each purple sheet which contains two varieties of MOP buttons. The other sheet holds 48 1/2" porcelain white buttons each with four holes and one has come loose on the corner. These are all very precious and lovely. SWEET ANTIQUE FRENCH PARIS TINY MOP BUTTONS ORIG CARD APRICOT 9 PC 1/4"
These are probably the sweetest. Tiniest antique French buttons I have ever seen and I believe to be most desirable for a doll costumer. There are a total of nine(9) slightly iridescent. Palest apricot Mother-of-Pearl buttons in a hard-to-find size of 1/4" in diameter. The tiny card is even lovely with"Nouveaute de Paris" company name. I cannot stress how lovely these tiny treasures are. None are the same;some are flatter than others and two of them have pearl lustre wear(bottom right corner) I can only say that it is a rare find and a must for those who wish for authenticity of the era. The color is lovely and so old-fashioned;it is not intense. But a hint of color. Photos have been taken in natural light with no flash. If color is important, please note that all monitors are set differently and these are being sold"AS ... moreIS" and are non-returnable. Photos do not do this justice due to being at a closer view. 2 Antique French Champlevé Enamel Foil Back Ornate Buttons ½” 5/8” Round Two Beautiful and rare Antique French Champlevé Enamel Foil Back Buttons. The blue and turquoise enamel button is an odd shape while the other red button is round and pierced. This second red button is in very good estate condition with patina commensurate to its age. It measures ½” The ½” blue& green enamel button has a bent loop on the back and patina with corrosion on the foil back and a little on the front edge. It is in fair condition.
