3 GORGEOUS ANTIQUE GAY 90's STEEL CUT & CELLULOID BUTTONS
3 GORGEOUS ANTIQUE BUTTONS that I believe are from the 1890's and are called GAY 90's for their bold design and flair! All 3 of these are grouped together because they do not have their shanks on the back. I'm not sure if they still have value but they certainly are beautiful. The largest one with the purple glass stone measures 1 3/4" in diameter. The steel cut button is 1 1/2" diameter and the smallest with the celluloid center is 1 1/4" They are so much nicer then my photos so bid with confidence. In this auction we are offering a fantastic Antique Victorian Gay Nineties 90’s multi jeweled button. Made of brass. Round and Marquise shaped glass paste in Clear. Amber, Blue, Red and Green colors. The marquise shaped jewels are multi faceted and are flat on top and pointy tops. All jewels are prong set. We’ve heard these glass stones called as“hand cut” glass. This is a Fabulous Antique Gay 90's Button with a Brilliant Emerald Green Faceted Stone with Cut Steels. The button measures 1 and 3/4 inches in diameter and has a loop shank. The stone itself is almost perfect but for a few tiny fine scratches. I can only hope that I look as good when I'm around 100 years old. A pierced brass back embellished with faceted cut steel rivets, and brass back bar with a wire loop shank. The button measures 1 5/8 inches in diameter. The glass jewel has some of its mirror finish worn off. The button is dented. But remains extremely attractive in spite of its imperfections. I think my pictures are pretty clear.
