Antique lot - 2 Glass Ball Waist Coat Buttons, 1 luster china button
Three beautiful antique waist coat buttons. The clear one is quite remarkable as you can't see the shank in the glass- it appears to simply float yet the shank is quite secure. it measures 1/2" across. The blue on has a white swirl in it and has a little chip in it(see picture) It is well constructed as well with a brass shank going all the way through it. The third button is a small china button with a lustrous finish and a well made shank. I would be glad to combine shipping. Thank you for looking at my item.

Part of a huge button collection from a family that collected them over several generations.They range in size from 7/8" in diameter on the large size down to some that are approx. 1/2" in diameter. That's why I decided to show all my calicos and let you pick the ONE you want at the end of the auction. At end of auction. Please send row and column of button you want. I am listing each color in six separate auctions. These measure@7/16" and are in excellent condition. Calicos were introduced in the 1840's. Read about their history here from Bead& Button magazine. The patterns on calico china buttons were not intended to match calico textiles. But to complement them. Hello& welcome to my auctions. Up for auction is a beautiful larger sized hand painted porcelain button. Victorian ladies would hand paint these in the privacy of their homes inspired by Natures beauty all around them. Roses were a popular flower then as they are today. Three pretty deep pink/red roses are meticulously hand painted on this old treasure. Forest green leaves amidst their brown foliage are hand painted. As well. Hues of soft pastel greens are hand painted on the background. It measures approximately 1 1/8 inches wide. Last photo. There is no damage anywhere& very little paint wear.
