The background has 8 etched and gold accented stars. Framed by a carved smiling moon face and wisps of cloud on the outside border on the right. The carved sections are missing most of their gold accents. The back of the button is brass(or other non magnetic metal) with a single loop. The button also features a delicate prong setting. It is used and in very good condition. There are two to three prongs that have been lifted above the surface and the loop on the back is bent. All buttons are sold in the condition in which I receive them. Most come from estate auctions and are in button box or button tin condition. All cleaning or restoration if needed is left to the buyer. I buy a lot of buttons and I do not collect buttons. Therefore all are eventually sold- I do not keep out the best for myself.
