Happy to offer these exquisite examples of well made AND beautiful vintage. I have dated these c. mid 1800's based on the design and materials. These sweet little brass buttons measure 5/8" Diameter. They are a single layer. Openwork dome with a dimensional floral motif. Each features 8 facet cut steel gems, creating sparkling beauty despite some tarnish. There is a total of 18 buttons. Including 2 which are bent(one of these is missing a steel cut) and 1 other which is only missing a steel cut. Please examine photos carefully for condition and features. These 13 Victorian buttons feature a silvered brass escutcheon in a floral motif with cut steel accents over a shiny sort of midnight blue metal backing. The buttons are about 1/2 an inch across. Overall fair condition with surface rust/patina and shine loss to background piece. Some leaves are bent. Some flowers have lost their silvering. I have not attempted to clean or restore these buttons. They will be well-wrapped and shipped via USPS. Thanks.

As sterling silver would be decorated. They were used on a wedding dress in 1869. In England or Wales. These are Estate fresh, off the market since 1869. The flowers glisten and catch the light. The whole set presents beautifully. A few fleabites do not detract either visually or to the touch: they are smooth and should not snag. 19th CENTURY ROUND CUT STEEL DECORATED FLORAL BUTTON 1" Steel Cup - Antique
This auction is for a large cut steel. Decorated button, from the 19th century. It measures 1" in diameter(25.5 mm. This button has 4 faceted. Cut steel pieces riveted on to a floral plate, which has a golden finish to it. The decorated top fits into a very thin steel cap with a metal shank on the back. It has some rust on the back of the button. I have left it in the condition that I found it. I will leave cleaning of this button up to the buyer.
