Beautiful Small Round CAMEO CARVED Pearl Button WOMAN, BUILDING Cut Steel Border
A very nice Victorian era. C. 1860-80's pearl carved cameo button. The cameo is of a woman dressed in 18th century costume with a temple like building in the background. The cameo is beautifully carved and measures a small, just over 1/4" in diameter. The button measures 10/16ths of an inch in diameter. The cameo is claw set with a border of riveted cut steels. The steels are in beautiful condition, bright and shiny. A wonderful little button in excellent condition. Please use the photographs to aid with my description. ORIGINAL Beautiful 19th Century Hand Rivited CUT STEEL BUTTON Fancy Border - A
This wonderful example of a hand-riveted cut steel button 19th century in manufacture. It is an open or cutwork blank to which are riveted round faceted cut steels. The button is saucer shaped. It has two circles/rows of faceted cut steels surrounding a central steel. It has a fancy patterned outer border. It is a pretty spectacular button. It measures 3/4 inch in diameter. It has an elongated loop shank. The button is in excellent vintage condition, commensurate with it's age. I have not cleaned the button. I will leave that decision to the new owner.
