Antique Butterfly Graphics Mother-of-Pearl MOP Button Card Lot 3 Sizes/40 Total

This is a lot of 4, approx. 3" x 3.75" paper cards, of which 3 are complete with twelve mother-of-pearl buttons attached and 1 is partial with 4 buttons(40 total) The buttons are separated from the paper by metal foil. One set has buttons approx. 10 mm across and two have buttons approx. 11.5 mm across. The partial set of four has buttons that are approx. 12.5 mm across. There is no country of origin noted but we would guess the USA or Japan. We believe these to be antique but have not been able to establish an exact age. The cards are aged and damaged as shown. The paper has become fragile and we have not attempted to clean the accumulation of dust and other signs of age from the buttons for that reason. This card is mounted with all black glass buttons that have one thing in common ~ they all have gold lustre designs on them. There are a total of twenty(20) These buttons are typically from the Victorian Era. They range in size from 3/4" across to 3/8" And I have tried to provide a good selection of different shapes. Great store display card for the T& M Button Company with 48 buttons that are either bakelite. Celluloid or plastic. They have a hand written code& style number for each button. Sadly some of them are missing. I will ship anywhere in the US FREE in a well padded envelope, First Class mail. 1 Card of Antique Buttons Hands Thumbs UP. BWG Muscatine Iowa Button Market
We have inherited a button collection from Minnesota. There are over 83.000 buttons. They were started by a woman in 1867, who, as a child, began her first charm string. We understand she was 7 years old when the collection was begun. Her name was Mrs. Underleak. She exhibited her collection at the Minnesota State Fair in 1939. At that time, she had over 13,000 buttons. She and her daughter determined to have the largest collection in Minnesota, and it appears, they kicked it into full gear in the 1940's because many of the cards of buttons are dated during that decade. We are not sure when Mrs. Underleak died but her daughter died in the early 1970's and our mother purchased the whole collection as part of the daughter's estate. It is very possible that our mother added more buttons to it, but, when our mother counted the collection ... morein around 1999, she came up with the total of 83,000 buttons. We have now inherited it, and are beginning to sell it. We are not sure whether it ever was the largest collection in Minnesota. But there are several newspaper articles, with pictures, that show Mrs. Underleak surrounded by her buttons in 1939. She was in the St. Paul Paper and the Pine River Journal. We have no experience with buttons, other than using them, so we are trying to learn about them as quickly as we can. We would love to hear from you experts when we mis-categorize something. We will make every attempt to photograph our listings well, so you can determine what the buttons are, even if we can't tell you. Early 20th century La Mode brand button display card showing three sizes of celluloid buttons in a variety of colors. The heavy card measures 8-1/4 by 10-1/4 inches. The card is worn and shows signs of use; there is damage at the center where two buttons were removed. Some of the buttons have discolored and others seem slightly brittle or fragile. Buttons are laced onto the card so they could be easily removed. Still an attractive display item for the collector! From a smoke-free needlework studio. Hello. A wonderful card of bird buttons from an estate sale. I did have to remount the buttons the card was in very bad shape but the buttons are fine. I mounted it the same way because I thought it was a pleasing set up. The largest button measure just under 1 and 1/2 inches, the smallest about 1/2 of an inch. Antique Button-Rite store display card, wood plastic, handpainted glass buttons
Up for auction is an antique Button-Rite store display card/manufacturer's card. In rough condition- torn into three parts. The card is 6 blocks by 5 blocks, handwritten ink, with nice graphics. I think there are three wooden buttons, 2 large plastic ones(I think plastic- maybe vegetable ivory? but they are in rough shape and pitted) and the rest glass. The four barrel shaped ones seem to be glass- the yellow one seems to have a small chip in the upper righthand corner that makes it look glass. There are three clear faceted ones(three sizes) Of the hand-painted ones: three light and dark blue ones(three sizes) one red, green, blue and yellow one, one pink and blue one, and one red and white one that is loose from the card. I believe these are original as there are no other holes in the squares where some of them are, but I am no expert(can't ... moreyou tell? For scale, the barrel-shaped ones are 5/8" tall. The card is 9 3/4" across. Like I said. I'm no expert, but I am more than happy to answer any questions you might have or provide more photos. Just ask! For auction. An old salesman's sample card of light and dark amber, and black faceted Czech glass buttons. Suitable for shadowbox framing, the buttons are screwed into the card stock and number 10 samples. They measure between 3/8" and 5/8" With a fountain pen, stock numbers are written at each button and the card stock is printed with a black and pink shield. Lot of 54 Black Glass - Antique Button Work Card - Various - 1950s
This is a piece of memorabilia! Collectors may enjoy this mid-20th century work card from one of my family members. As often was the case. This work card is of recycled materials. The buttons were hand-sewn onto the card initially. Some buttons are now held on with coated wire. There are a number of whistles. Faceted buttons, and a variety of shapes. One has goldstone. The largest buttons measure approximately 1 inch. The smallest is 7/16. I see a few minor chips on these buttons, most look very good.

Beautiful METAL BUTTONS(24) from the early 1900s featuring a floral sunflower motif. The background of the buttons looks to be copper with a dark brown metal overleaf. The back has a metal cutout shank. The entire set of 24 buttons is still attached to the original"Perfection" brand card with string. The buttons are in perfect condition. The card is not as can be seen(If buttons were restrung the card could probably be straightened out but I did not want to attempt and get rid of original string) Please see all photos!
