Large Lot 400+ Antique Vtg Metal Picture Advertising Cut Steel Sewing Buttons
Up for bid is a large lot of approximately 400 antique& vintage buttons. The majority of the lot is metal buttons but also is a small amount of celluloid. Bakelite and some glass stone buttons. The lot also includes some advertising buttons which include Pinkerton, Peary Coat, Boy Scouts, U.S. Army, Crown Overall, Ox Hide and possibly others. There are many metal picture buttons and there are several button sets with 4 or more matching buttons. There is also a nice red coral cameo button in the lot but it is missing the back button loop(photo 2) The buttons range in condition from excellent to fair with most being in very good clean condition. The sizes of the buttons also vary but most are shirt and/or jacket size with a single metal button loop on the back. I am not a button collector but I cannot imagine any collector being disappointed ... morewith this lot. We usually always accept returns for any reason but due to the volume of buttons, inventorying a return would be difficult so there are no returns on this item. Thank you for your understanding. Some have cut steel, others depict flowers or buildings, churches, game birds, carved mother of pearl etc. Most measure about 3/8" to about 7/8" and have loop shanks. 6 Old Buttons Size an inch or under, Condition of three is very good: the one with stars. The picture one with three flowers growing around the edge, and the black/silver one. The two gold coloured ones have rust on the back. But their design is quite interesting. Also the one with flowers around a steel cut centre has a bit of rust on the central post on the front. This is an assortment of small buttons the smallest measuring around 3/8" The largest approximately 3/4" They all are very unique and have steel studs, some look 3 dimensional, theres one small one that has blue studs. They are all in great condition I think. There is one Paris button, it is the one with three small studs on a flower branch and rose tones and two levels. DETAILS: Both buttons are white metal. The one button is a steel cup with fluted edge. The center is pewter and it has a copper loop shank. The other button is a soft metal so it can be either tin/aluminum. It has a loop shank. Vintage Antique Two Strawberry Picture Buttons Steel Cut Brass Detailed Nice
I have added a large picture button to the little steel cut strawberry button I listed previously. Both have very nice detail in the berries and leaves and would be a nice addition to your collection or to use on clothing or accessories. The loops are in very good condition. The little steel cut strawberry button is about 5/8" and the larger one measures about 7/8" across. Please look carefully at the photos as all of my buttons are sold AS IS with no returns.
