Very nice set of 4 old beautiful cloisonne or enamel metal buttons. Each button measures 1 1/2 inches across. Gold colored 3-leaf clover design in center with smaller clover in very center. Very fine cut out areas with painted areas in red. Clue, white and green. The painted designs resemble flowers-lilies and tulips perhaps. Loop for attaching button to clothing firmly on back of each button. No marks but suspect they are Victorian. Have other buttons from same period listed. This lot of 5 antique Victorian black glass buttons includes a set of 3. And a pair of matching buttons, with leaf designs. The 3 larger circular buttons have a 1 1/16” diameter. The 2 have a 1” diameter. The set of 3 buttons are glossy black in color, and they have metal thread loops that are set in what looks like lead, or zinc, on their backsides, along with“Patent App d for” stamped in the glass. The other 2 buttons have a matte charcoal color. And a molded back with“4 0” printed, there. Though the“pair” appear to be glass, I am not 100% sure; though they sound like glass, they are not as cool to the cheek as the others. Antique Victorian Black Jet Glass Buttons 10 Leaf & Clover/ 4 3-Leaf/ 1 Basket
There is one basket weave pattern button in this lot which has a browner tone to it. This button measures approx. 9/16" in diameter and is signed"IRGC/ Goodyear" on the back. The four with the three leaves etched in the center measure approx. 1/2" in diameter- all four are in very good condition. The ten with the leaf& clover pattern measure approx. 9/16" in diameter. Four of these have tiny nicks in the clover-shaped centers. And all have normal usage scuffs on the backs. These have handed down from my grandmother who was born in 1886 and would have been wearing these in the early 1900's. Happy Bidding! Lovely set of antique metal buttons. This is a lot of 19 identical buttons. They measure 3/8" across. The top is a copper color. With ribbed edge a slightly shinier color copper. Has a nice leaf motif in the center. The back looks to be a black enamel(not sure if it is glass) Has the single metal loop for sewing. The pictures do not do justice to the pretty color of these buttons.
