3 Handsome antique fence, wood-grain board buttons, French tight-top PARIS back
All three of these antique metal buttons feature wood-grain boards. Perhaps fences. The bottom left button is a French tight-top with a Paris back, and measures 5/8" It is marked on the back"Solidaire Bte SGDG AP&Cie PARIS" The remaining two buttons each measure 11/16" All the buttons are in excellent condition. My grandmother was a rabid button collector from childhood until she passed in the 1960's. And these are from her mammoth collection. She and my great-grandparents sailed to Paris in the Spring and Fall to have designer clothing made and to purchase buttons, fabric and trims to bring home to Michigan, around the 1880's and until WWI.
