The third is a domed cuff button, with the same symbol above larger Crossed Cannons The largest of the three is superbly marked- T.W. W. H. M. BREVETE PARIS Made by Trelon. Weldon& Weil or H.M(Hartog Marchand) The middle pressed dome one is marked? F. PARIS. Most likely made by G.J. F. The cuff button is made of embossed brass. Filled with what appears to be lead or pewter. It is marked on the back as well, but we can only make out PARIS All three of them were most likely part of French Artillery Military uniform However. 19th Cent COMMEMORATIVE HISPAN ET IND REX ME 8 R J P COIN TW&W PARIS 1 1/2"
I do not know the history or purpose of this set of four brass buttons. I believe they were made in the mid- late 19th century. Each button is a different country replica coin. On the front is a CROWN over a 4 section SHIELD with two LIONS and two TOWERS. On each side of the Crest is a COLUMN with a banner. On the left column the banner reads PLUS and on the right it reads VLTRA. Around the rim it reads HISPAN ET IND REX ME 8 R J P. On the reverse it has a wreath of laurel leaves and is marked PARIS under a five point star and atop the large shank and TW&W between 2 five petal flowers beneath the shank. In extraordinary condition. Looks to have never been worn/used. In coin terms it would be uncirculated or near uncirculated. It has great toning to the brass. Measures 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
