First of all let me tell you that my expertise is in non-military buttons. I know very little about military. Uniform, hunt, livery or coat of arms buttons. Having said that I did have the good fortune to acquire a very large collection of such buttons. Amassed over a life time of collecting by an Indiana collector with great expertise. Many of the buttons on each collector's card are identified or short comments or descriptions are provided on the reverse of the card. I will list what is written on the reverse of the card by each button. There is nothing listed on this one. This is a set of 24 small gold-washed brass buttons; likely uniform. I have been unable to find anything on the buttons from any source materials. They are lined with a tree in the center of the button. Surrounding the tree are the letters T.C.O.F.L in blue. They ... moremeasure just over 9/16ths inch in diameter. They have a rather large brass loop shank and are back marked Superior Quality. Believe them to be from the mid-late 19th century. As you can see they are on the original card with pink tissue paper to protect the buttons. Please use the photographs as an aid to my description.
