There is one basket weave pattern button in this lot which has a browner tone to it. This button measures approx. 9/16" in diameter and is signed"IRGC/ Goodyear" on the back. The four with the three leaves etched in the center measure approx. 1/2" in diameter- all four are in very good condition. The ten with the leaf& clover pattern measure approx. 9/16" in diameter. Four of these have tiny nicks in the clover-shaped centers. And all have normal usage scuffs on the backs. This is for a total of(4) four buttons. This auction is for the tiniest. Sweetest antique 19th century handmade buttons of the Victorian era or possibly earlier(1860s) They are still on their original old string which will be kept intact. As one will note from photos, it attaches to a garment by thread. The threads are of natural fibers and are so much more delicate and fine than photos depict at a closer view. So please take note of this…If anyone is an avid gardener, they sort of remind me of nasturtium seeds. These measure approximately 1/4" round;no two are the same. These have a nice patina. Two antique brass buttons: the small one measures slightly under 1/4" 5.5mm) and the large one measures 11/16" 17mm) They are both metal and have self shanks. They were constructed by folding the brass in a round shape and leaving holes(small button) or having 2 holes formed in the original casting or molding of the metal(large button) The small button has small ridged dots(calico style) and the larger button has a repeating filigree pattern. Both buttons are unmarked. They are in good condition. Both are very interesting buttons and would make a nice addition to anyone's antique button collection. As the name suggests, the whistle button is shaped so that one can blow in it and make a sound, The picture button is metal and shoes a house in the mountains, The twinkle button has a reflective background with a grid over it, and the Victorian are fancy buttons for that day.
