This charming little trio of antique glass buttons are as cute as can be. And all in excellent condition. The polka dot button measures 1/2" in diameter. The left button is deep honey colored transparent glass. And measures 3/8" in diameter. The right button is a true diminutive. And measures 5/16" It fits nicely through my button measure. Listing 51. 30 Antique Tiny and diminutive Glass. China,MOP Swirlback, Paperweight, Pairs. Largest, about 3/8 inch in diameter. Swirlbacks, 1 that is sort of a translucent beige with black and yellow decoration on the top, shot with thin gold lines. The other is purple gray, marbled with lighter lines.Paperweight is 1/4 inch in diameter with blue background, pink rose, and leaves under glass. Also, there is a button, bead that looks like jade. Please check out pictures carefully. Most of the Underleak collection was completed before and during the early years of the Second World war, so most of the collection would have come before 1941. These buttons have been boxed up for 60 to 75 years. They were used and displayed prior to being put away. Please see pictures to determine the condition. It's black with a little crystal decoration on the top. A very neat little hexagon shaped red glass or china button with a triangle decoration on the top, a button that is shaped like a little acorn, a color that looks like clambroth, and much more. Lot 17 Antique Victorian Diminutive Buttons - Enamel - Glass - Jewel - ALL NICE
This is an awesome lot. All of which came out of the same fantastic collection. Most are"diminutive" by NBS standards, but the size range is actually 5/16" to 7/16" The only issues I see is a missing amber colored rhinestone, and the blue and aventurine waistcoat button is missing its shank. The top flower button is celluloid, and the Victorian black glass flower has a rosette shank. Too cute! A few of these buttons are truly incredible. Especially in light of their size. I think the clear rhinestone flower and the enamel w/cut steels are especally nice. When I bought this vintage Bingo card I didn't know what I'd do with it. Just thought it was neat. Then I decided to gather up all my diminutive red glass buttons to put on it. Ran out of diminutives so finished by adding smalls. The card measures 4 x 12-1/2 inches. There's a total of 75 glass buttons. Some are clear.
