I cannot ship outside the U.S. I am listing several batches of old buttons from years and years of collecting. They are all in very good condition and of course the ones on the cards were never used and are very old and so beautiful presented on old cards. I would be happy to combine shipping costs should you win more than one auction. All of these old buttons in my opinion are miniature works of art. They are just so beautiful. 99 Antique Buttons On Cards Dyed MOP Fancy Czechoslovakia Glass Closeup Photos
Description A number of auctions have been combined below for a button clearance sale. There are 99 buttons in this auction and all have been described and photographed below- just keep scrolling and you will see them all. As shown in the photos and scans below. This is a lot of four antique button cards with dyed mother-of-pearl buttons(one is white and may be natural) The buttons are separated from the 1 7/8" x 4 3/4" paper cards by metal foil. All of the cards have a dozen buttons(48 total) on them and three sets measure approx. 11 mm across. The fourth(violet) measures approx. 10mm across. There is no country of origin noted but we would guess the USA or Japan. We believe these to be antique but have not been able to establish an exact age. The cards are aged and damaged as shown. The paper has become fragile and we have not ... moreattempted to clean the accumulation of dust and other signs of age from the buttons for that reason. Antique 1900's Pearl Button Store Display Box -antique Buttons on original cards
This is an amazing treasure for anyone interested in vintage and antique sewing. Antique buttons and original antique store displays. This is the original store display box of buttons. The pearl buttons are on their original cards with great graphics. The inside of the box lid has a fashion plate of ladies and children dressed in Edwardian clothing which dates this to the early 1900's. There are 2 layers in the box. Each little section holds a card of buttons and all sections are filled with the exception of one. So there are 19 original cards of pearl buttons in the box. I think the photos clearly represent the condition. The box is stained and lid is hanging on by a thread. But all of the cards of buttons are in excellent condition. I have been doing antiques for a very long time and this is the first display box of buttons I have had ... morethe pleasure of seeing. Fifty-five little buttons. Some very tiny. Several are from a collection of antique buttons and a couple are very thin. Most of the loose buttons are white bone or mother of pearl with a couple of pinks and almost all are 2 or 4 holes. There are seven cards of buttons, from the 1940s or 1950s, all full cards except for the one with the tiny pink heart. All of the buttons on cards are shanks. They are all pastel colors: a bright pink heart, three pink dots, three white bunnies, five iridescent flat whites, three iridescent blue flowers, five tiny pink baby sweater buttons, and five tiny pale green baby sweater buttons. Some of the antique buttons show age wear. The carded buttons are in fine condition but the cards are dusty and discolored. These are estate buttons being sold as is. Antique irridescent Mother of Pearl Buttons. On Cards, Small Medium and Large
We have inherited a button collection from Minnesota. There are over 83.000 buttons. They were started by a woman in 1867, who, as a child, began her first charm string. We understand she was 7 years old when the collection was begun. Her name was Mrs. Underleak. She exhibited her collection at the Minnesota State Fair in 1939. At that time, she had over 13,000 buttons. She and her daughter determined to have the largest collection in Minnesota, and it appears, they kicked it into full gear in the 1940's because many of the cards of buttons are dated during that decade. We are not sure when Mrs. Underleak died but her daughter died in the early 1970's and our mother purchased the whole collection as part of the daughter's estate. It is very possible that our mother added more buttons to it, but, when our mother counted the collection ... morein around 1999, she came up with the total of 83,000 buttons. We have now inherited it, and are beginning to sell it. We are not sure whether it ever was the largest collection in Minnesota. But there are several newspaper articles, with pictures, that show Mrs. Underleak surrounded by her buttons in 1939. She was in the St. Paul Paper and the Pine River Journal. We have no experience with buttons, other than using them, so we are trying to learn about them as quickly as we can. We would love to hear from you experts when we mis-categorize something. We will make every attempt to photograph our listings well, so you can determine what the buttons are, even if we can't tell you. Here are five near complete sheets of twenty-four on each purple sheet which contains two varieties of MOP buttons. The other sheet holds 48 1/2" porcelain white buttons each with four holes and one has come loose on the corner. These are all very precious and lovely. There is also a card of 10 blue with gold and red trim Czech buttons. There are 2 French cards of small pearl buttons and 2 cards of Genuine ABC Pearl Baby buttons. The last is a card of pink baby buttons. Condition of the buttons is very good with 1 blue button having a chip on the back. The cards themselves have some wear or damage as seen in the photos. Hi. Two cards of buttons. The first card is actually cornucopias with flowers. There is one that I believe was tole and the image is not clear at all. Otherwise I think they are in pretty good condition. I have not removed any of the buttons so there may be some rust.Some of them are tinted.The large button in the middle is really very beautiful.The second card is all roses in different materials,plastic, lucite with metal rose escutcheon,bakelite with silver plastic inset,porcelain,cellluloid,buffed plastic. I can as see one small metal that does have rust,and one has the white dust a sign of decay. I have not removed the buttons from card,they will come to you as they came to me. Thank you for looking. A few colored, plus 3 full cards, one partial card of Lucky Day,Lady Washington Pearls, and 1 Genuine pearl.
