Here is a fantastic SC estate find.a two piece antique heart pine corner cupboard with all original brass hinges and brass escutcheon. This cabinet was surely made for a specific place in an old home and now it is ready for a new home! Construction is all mortise and tenon and pegged except for the rear boards are tongue and groove.with 1" by 10" heart pine boards and what appear to be rosehead nails. These back boards are continuously the same board from the top to the bottom of the cabinet. Height to top = 81" almost 7 feet) Height to top of base = 34" Length in front = 36" Length from back corner to center back = 32" Diagonal measurement from front to center of rear = 27" Since this is a corner cabinet and angles and other dimensions may be needed. Another great early piece of furniture that was left in the st one wine cellar of my 1850 clapboard in the olde iron town of Rockaway. Thought that I might be able to use it in the kitchen where it belongs.But have decided instead to part with it.It may very well be yet ano ther piece that once graced the ho me as part of it's original furnishings.Probably of local manufacture or at least nearby Pennsyl vania.My home was reputedly used as a general/dry goods store in Civil war times for at least a short perio d.Rockaway was America's leading center for iron production of cannons and munitions during both The Revolution and the Great Rebellion. Antique Primitive Pine 4 Door wavy glass Cabinet Hutch Cupboard french country
removed from american foursquare built around 1905. It appears that builder used this original cupboard for parts when house was built. I was in the process of gutting the kitchen and installing new sink and cabinets and kinda discovered the bottom half of the piece had been used for the original sink area. It appears that over the years a number of counters had replaced the original top and bottom half framed in with sheetrock. The top glass cabinet was anchored to the wall and had the original 3 coat plaster around it. I managed to find as much of the original pieces as I could and put the bottom back together with the exception of the top. I used yellow pine salvaged from the house to rip the new top. The top glass portion is 100% original and nothing has been done other than clean and lightly sand the pine to remove old plaster. The piece ... moreis huge, it is 8' 4" long and 7' tall. Top cabinet is 13" deep. Bottom is 23" deep. The weight of the item is around 600 to 800 pounds. All glass appears to be original wavy. This is a fantastic cupboard. I would estimate the original age to be in the 1800's but I won't hazard a guess at which decade. There have been shelves added over time and a little extra crown molding up top. It measures 74 1/2" tall. 35" wide and 12" deep. The case has been reinforced with extra screws and nails and this stands straight and sturdy. It has marks that would be expected from dings and dents as well as some loss on the bottom from previous moisture issues, and I might have seen some old worm holes too. Local pick up is preferred. This is an unusual. Early American, 19th century primitive cupboard, we are assuming it is entirely made of solid pine. Great lines with minimal ornamentation, this functional piece has wonderful hand hewn columns in front which are its main distinguishing element. Cupboard has two doors below, a drop down space in the center, and then, an unlikey hinged top section which opens up. Please view all photos and ask any questions you may have before bidding. Cabinet measures 46" tall by 44 1/2" wide by 19" deep. The top lid section which opens up reveals a compartment about 4 1/4" deep. This hinged section/panel is about 11" deep. A Christmas Cupboard! It may have been used to store jellies or pies once upon a time. But today it can be used for whatever your pleasure. PAINTED with(original) pine green paint, this is a small and very narrow primitive pine cupboard that hails from the back country near Aiken. SC. Likely late 1800s-early 1900s. The entire cupboard is painted green, including the back. Crude in construction using old flathead nails, it is extremely sturdy. It has cute clothespin legs and two interior shelves(3 spaces) for storing crocks, dishes, bake ware, books, etc. The top pieces(see photo) appear as if they may have been tongue and groove pine floor boards at one time. You are bidding on a wonderful. Primitive, antique, 19th century/1800's, pine, wood/wooden, hanging cupboard/cabinet that measures 11 1/4" x 20" x 7 1/4" deep. As seen, it has a hinged, front door, 4, interior shelves, and a leather strap for hanging; the top shows some dovetailing on the left side, and one, metal, hanging eye remains on the top. With a great bucket bench, a cupboard with old iron hinges and a great twist knob, wood shelves almost two inches thick. Long shelves on the other side and a great carved top. EARLY 19th CENTURY PRIMITIVE PENNSYLVANIA PINE LARGE CORNER CUPBOARD
Estate found this fall. Is this large early 19th century Pennsylvania Pine 2 piece Corner cupboard. This cupboard was painted sometime in it's life and was stripped by someone. There is still some white paint on the inside of the bottom doors, which were hand chamfered. The hardware is very early and solid brass, and looks like there were changes in the past, by the holes that do not match up. This is the condition that the cupboard was found. It has really old glass with bubbles and flaws in it, and has hand forged nails. The top inside was painted red by someone, and has unusual shaped shelves, while the bottom is still white inside. This is a large corner cupboard with measurements of 47 inches wide by 7 ft 7" tall and 29 inches deep to the corner trim. The back of the cupboard has some really ancient wall paper on it, and the ... morewood is really old. Antique Primitive Painted 19th C Shelves Southern Heart Pine Square Nails
A great primitive bookcase/ cupboard with lots of character. It is made out of Southern heart pine with gorgeous patina and pattern on the backside. Has original. Old black paint over even earlier barn red paint. Early pieces of furniture were usually multifunctional and compact so they didn't take up too much room. This piece has a slim profile, little cubby holes for storage and 4 shelves, which work for books, displaying collectibles, or showcasing pottery. At one time it had a drop down shelf, making it useful as a desk; sadly that part is gone leaving holes where it was attached and the break in the wood where the square nails are visible. The nails and the colors of paint used, black and barn red paint are early colors, leads me to think this bookcase leans towards very early 1800’s, could be earlier or later, I’m not an expert ... morejust did a little research about primitives. Antique pine corner cupboard blind door 19th century narrow country primitive
A 19th century pine corner cupboard in a primitive country style. The finish is very worn and dry but not original… it looks like it was painted at one time and then stripped. The hardware has also been replaced; the lock plates on the back of both doors are missing but the doors do close and stay shut. It has a single door on top and a single door on the bottom. And it breaks down into two pieces for transport. The piece measures approximately 87" tall, 38" wide, and 21" deep- a nice narrow size. There is some later replaced wood on the back of the piece which visible in the photos. It is a well worn piece that has a nice country look… the molding at the top is a nice feature. This practical country cupboard is a product of early America. Possibly Pennsylvania, having been crafted in the last half of the 19th century. A solid, one piece cabinet, constructed in Pine with a shaped cornice. The upper section is set back, commonly referred to as a stepback, with three shelves behind paneled doors over a large horizontal working surface. With a paneled back. Mid 1800's ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE Pine WARDROBE CABINET-Wide Boards-Square Nails
This auction is for a mid 1800's Primitive Wardrobe that has a deep brown-black finish. The boards are all different widths-from app 11" to over 16 inches. The left door in the frame is one piece. Most of the boards are 1 inch thick and they appear to be a dark pine-can't say for sure. There is a screw on one side of the shelves with a little hand forged hook to hold it closed. The left side is open for long dresses and coats while the right can store folded pieces or shoes. It has pegs to hold the door framing together. Shelves are notched and piece has square head nails. The drawer pull on the right was on the piece when I got it. The left I added. There is a circular hole in the back that has a piece of tin affixed to the back and someone has added brackets at the top for a hand cut clothes pole. There is a lot of dug in spots ... moreat the top on the right side-looks like something rubbed up against it. The back boards on the outside are rough to the touch. The drawer needs to be rubbed with something-it sticks badly. Hope I have enough pictures. Piece is app 82" tall, 46 1/2 inches across and 16 inches deep. Very nice original vintage antique solid pine cupboard. Still has the original wavy glass. Pine slatted back, and I believe this is the original finish. Very sharp clean old cupboard that most likely dates back to the early 1900’s, if not earlier. This is 3’4” wide, 3’7” tall, 15 ½” deep. Most likely served as a special cabinet to hold someone’s precious china or something similar because it has a lock that opens with a skeleton key. The original skeleton key lock was replaced, but this one still old and very nice. Original key still with it. Cabinet has very solid joints, very solid all around, built with mortise& tenon construction using square nails. This cabinet comes from a non smoking home. Pine Primitive English Country 1860's Antique Pewter Cupboard. Item# B-19729. A picturesque country pine pewter cupboard was hand crafted in England around 1860. This well worn antique furniture is solid wormy pine with lots of losses to the wainscoting back. Mars, stains and dings for character, see photos. The finish is very well preserved. And has been waxed and buffed so that all that is needed to maintain its patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. Behind the center doors are drawers with hand cut dovetails and chamfered bottoms, some rebuilt. Brass pulls are old but not original. The upper section is a separate piece for easier moving.
