The broken-arch pediment is striking and unusual. The thin arms lifting from the molded top in a cresting wave, curling into fine inlaid pinwheel rosettes; these opposing waves of the pediment flank a fine inlaid pointed urn finial raised on a plinth base of conforming inlay. The arched door is crafted with through-tenon joinery, the fragile corners supported with butterfly dovetails on the inside(possibly later) it features twelve glazed panels framed in scratched-bead walnut astragals, opening on original hinges to reveal a shelved interior. Each shelf is channeled to display plates and platters, the front edge of each shelf molded, one shelf crafted to hold utensils in the front edge. The case has outstanding proportions. These eased by the thick molding around the waist and the inlaid band around the shoulders- this easily divides the visual planes of the piece into graduated levels that are easier for the eye to digest. The bottom of the case has a pair of solid walnut doors framed in a matching inlaid band, each embellished with inlaid shield escutcheons to match the arched door, these opening to reveal a shelved interior. The entire case rests over original bracket feet. The construction of the case is very fine. The pair of stiles on either side of the case joined in some kind of hidden dovetail or butt-joint, running from just an inch above the ground through the molding of the crest. Made in England. Circa 1980 Bevan Funnel Yew wood Gothic arched doors Includes key Excellent condition, There are several unusual features to this lovely corner cabinet. First. The wood used is yew wood. Yew wood is a native English wood that is not common, but has many of the same features as maple. The second unusual feature is that we know who made this corner cabinet. Usually English furniture does not include a maker’s mark. On the inside of the lower door is the mark for Bevan Funnel, a very prestigious English furniture firm still in business today. We have dated this particular model to sometime around 1980. From the Gothic arches on the glass doors to the sturdy bracket feet. No attention to detail was spared on this corner cabinet. Inside the top section are two adjustable wooden shelves. They adjust via a brass pin and hole system. The lower cabinet contains one wooden shelf. Both cabinet doors lock and one key is included. A moulded cornice crowns the top while a recessed panel door with trim really shows of the attractive qualities of yew wood. The fact that after over 30 years this yew wood corner cabinet is still in excellent condition is a testament to the quality of skill and care that went into its construction. It has survived with no noticeable wear and would make an excellent addition to any room of your home! This yew wood corner cabinet would look great in any corner of the home! Plenty of display and storage space that all locks with included key. Here is the label from Bevan Funnel. On the inside of the lower door. The moulded cornice looks great on top. Construction is all mortise and tenon and pegged except for the rear boards are tongue and groove.with 1" by 10" heart pine boards and what appear to be rosehead nails. These back boards are continuously the same board from the top to the bottom of the cabinet. AMERICAN PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH SOLID WALNUT CORNER CUPBOARD CABINET CIRCA 1820
This is an antique Pennsylvania Dutch solid walnut corner cupboard with two glazed(glass) doors that dates to the 1820's. It is mostly original including the front and back. The back has 14" wide lapped pine boards with the appropriate saw markings and cut nails. There are some newer nails(probably late 1800's) added to supplement the original nails. The bottom and shelves are cut from single solid pieces of wood(17" wide) And the upper shelf has grooves cut into them to prevent the dishes from slipping when stood upright. It features hand-made crown moulding. Two glazed doors with six panes of original wavy glass in each and two solid lower doors. The glass is held in with putty. It has a wonderful scalloped lower apron and the original iron hinges. There is a single drawer in the front with wide bevel bottom and wide hand-cut ... moredove-tails. The wooden knob is held in place be a hand cut screw. Although the original wooden clips are still in place to keep the left upper and lower doors shut, there have been 4 magnetic latches installed inside to keep all doors closed. These can easily be removed if desired. I do not see any maker's marks on the piece at all, but what appears to be the name"Bolton" is written in chalk in cursive on the bottom of the cupboard. The cupboard stands 87" tall and fits into a 32" corner. It is 52" wide and 21-1/4" deep overall(at the crown moulding) And 49" wide and 19" deep. Please note that the pictures were taken in full sunlight to show as much detail as possible and the color of the wood is darker then shown in the photos. Antique Hanging Corner Cupboard Cabinet Blue Paint Mirror Primitive SE PA to start a new paragraph use- This is a charming old"make do" fancy piece out of Southeastern Pennsylvania. It's a heavy piece and the frame looks to be constructed out of second hand hard wood crating boards; the boards are 3/4" thick. There is old paint on it. Looks to be several coats of paint on the front from over the years, none of them new. There is plaster molding trim framing the outside edges of the front and framing the door opening. That's what makes it a"fancy" make do piece) This piece is solid and sturdy. There is light chipping of the paint on the front exposing some of the plaster in the molding. And overall age to the painted surface, the door closes easily but there is a slight gap at the top, there are also some gaps ... morein the boards. The mirror is old and has some losses on the back, but all are small and it's perfect with this piece. The mirrored glass is beveled on one side only opposite the door handle and was probably taken from an old mirror. I'd never replace it. Fancy metal pull that was also painted over at some point. These type pieces are getting very hard to find and this came up in a small shop here in PA. It's a one of a kind. This is not a typical offering from us, but I just couldn't resist it. And it's been confirmed as fabulous from all the"ooooh and ahhhh" comments since I brought it home, even from members of my household who arent' into antiques so much. The unboxed weight is about 22lbs(shipping weight about 27lbs) Measures Approximately 27 inches tall, the front is 16 inches across, the two back side boards are 12 inches across forming a"V" in the back, the cabinet is 10 inches deep at the widest point from the center of the"v" to the front, with one small shelf inside. The bottom is flush, and this will stand on the floor as shown or could be displayed on top of a table or other piece you may have to complement it.

This is a great diminutive hanging corner cabinet with kind of a folk art look. It is solid pine with nice old thick and decorative mahogany veneer. There are several shelves inside which will make for excellent corner storage. There is a geometric design to the paneled door as well as an inlaid wood escutcheon. The drawer is hand dovetailed and chamfered. Although there is only one drawer. It appears to have three due to the three original wooden pulls or knobs. the top is pine as are the rear boards. One of the rear pine boards is very wide at 17" There are new hanging brackets on the back at the top. At some point a block was added so that this cabinet could also be a freestanding unit. It does retain the original lockset and key. It is triangular and made to hang in the corner by 2 loop hooks. It is constructed from oak wood and has two shelves plus the bottom. The original mirror is bevelled. Old corner cabinet/cupboard from 1800's Vermont. Distressed painted wood. Two parts stack nicely. But are shown here with top mounted on wall brackets. The height of the base with the riser/backsplash thingy is 41-3/4" while he horizontal top surface of the base is 37" above the floor. The base projects about 24" out from the corner to the front or about 30-1/2" along the walls. The top piece is 38" in height and projects about 20-1/2" from the corner to the front or about 24" along the walls. So when stacked the pieces are about 80" high.

Antique Pennsylvania Country Federal Corner Cabinet Cupboard Poplar Glass c 1800
Wonderful antique Pennsylvania Country Federal corner cabinet or cupboard. This cabinet is in two pieces with an upper cabinet crowned by a molded cornice and a door with twelve glazed panes. The interior of the upper cabinet has been painted a lovely soft turquoise blue and has four shelves. Each with ridges to allow for upright display of plates, bowls and platters. The lower section of the cabinet features a single drawer with wooden knobs and a diamond-shaped brass key surround. Below that are two paneled wooden doors with brass knobs, enclosing a two-shelf storage area. The apron has been fret carved in a decorative scalloped design. The entire cabinet is made from poplar wood and has a beautiful finish that shows signs of age but is probably not original to the piece. This cupboard likely dates from the early 1800's. Overall this ... morepiece is in good antique condition. However there is a small missing piece of molding near the top. Please examine the pictures provided. Otherwise, the piece has no breaks or repairs, only minimal wear consistent with age and use. The glass looks original and is in excellent condition. A fabulous find is this antique solid quartersawn and straight sawn oak cabinet with handsome designs of inlay on the door and around the drawers. Two of the three doors are false. However, the drawer area encompasses the entire area under the main cabinet and the bottom. The door has a fantastic inlaid shell design. The classic canted corners help display how beautiful the patina is on this old cabinet. The door to the inside is paneled and is chamfered on the inside. There are several shelves. Height to the top = 42" Width across the front = 24 3/4" Depth is 19" in the middle and 20 1/2" on each rear side. Canted corners are 4" each. OUTSTANDING! 1800'S RARE EARLY OOAK ANTIQUE FOLK ART PRIMITIVE CORNER CABINET CUPBOARD SIGNED AND DATED* Up for auction is this very unusual corner cabinet. It's old! We're not sure how old but the detailing puts it in the 1800's. Possibly earlier. This is a unique and rare cabinet/ cupboard. It has the original rich, dark black paint and a fantastic patina! On the front on the door, there's a painting of a vase of flowers. Only the flowers are very visible now as the vase has faded over the years and now you can just see the outline of the paint. The writing above the flowers says"Fanosi Josef Kesri" It's hard to read the rest but we think it says"tet* 869 BC" We are fairly certain this mean British Columbia. It might be 1869, maybe it's 869! Either way, it's still old! and fabulous! It ... morehas scalloped edge trim all the way around the cabinet. The hardware on the door is old and the bottom one may have been replaced at one point. There's a bent over nail to hold the door shut and this has rubbed off the paint in that spot over the years. The door is bowed out slightly as you can see in the picture of it laying on its side. To close the door you have to lift up on it a little bit. The drawer below the door is old and nicely dovetail mortised. Big. Primitive dovetails, just the way we like to see them. The drawer slides in an out on a little board that was likely added later to help it from flopping around. The drawer pull is a simple wood element and this may have had a finial on it at one point. The drawer requires a little wigglin' to get it to set in there also. But, when the door and the drawer are all set in, it looks amazing! The back two sides are old thick wood. And the cabinet is heavy as a result. Weighing a good 34 lbs. There are holes in the back wood, likely where they hung the cabinet from. It measures 33.5" H x 27.5" W x 14.25" D(middle) and 20.25" down each back side against the wall. This is a fantastic early piece and

I am delighted to offer for your consideration. This antique corner cabinet. This piece dates roughly around 1840-70's. In the classic and lovely Empire style. Wonderful curved doors and arched wood detailing. Ones of this age and size and very rare and highly collectible! It stands 18 inches tall. From tip to tip at the widest point it is 17 1/4 inches. The two back panels that go against the wall are 12 inches wide. The top has a nice strip of inlay wood. It has it's original hardware but no key for the lock. The overall condition is very good and it is ready to enjoy. The piece appears to may have been painted at some point. Slight remnants visible. The doors are not flush and a space is present as seen. Appraiser's notation: Walnut 12 pane corner cupboard in one section cove molded cornice above single 12 pane door. 2 lower doors with flat panels. Cut out skirt and feet. First 1/2 19th century. Excellent refinished condition. This piece is heavy and solid with no loose doors. Panels, shelves, glass, or joints. There is a light patch on top right side of top door and a darkening on the lower left bottom door( please see photos) The key and lock are fully functioning on top glass door. The key fits in bottom lock however the lock does not work. The bottom left door has a turnbuckle. Measurements: 82 1/2 inches tall. 38 inches across front. 16 1/2 inches deep inside. ANTIQUE GERMAN PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH PINE CORNER CUPBOARD CABINET
Here is another terrific find from one of my newest consignor's- a delightful family piece inherited from his great-grandmother on the Tulp side of the family originally and his mother most recently. an early to mid-nineteenth century pine corner cabinet from the Pennsylvania Dutch country area of Pennsylvania where his ancestors settled and lived from the early 1800's through the 1930's. This is a solid. Well constructed five board back antique corner cabinet with pegged construction and old nails, and I've included a number of photographs in addition to my detailed description of condition above in an attempt to accurately represent the age, construction, condition, design, quality and overall beauty of this terrific old cabinet. This wonderful corner cabinet stands 73 inches tall and measures 46 inches across at it's ... morewidest point. Outside edge to outside edge.It measured 21 inches deep from the center front straight back into the corner and 27 inches on each side, as in the length along the wall on each side. The interior of the top cabinet measures 39 inches across at it's widest point and has one of two fixed shelves still in place running the width of the cabinet with 15 1/2 inches clearance above the shelf and 16 inches depth back into the corner from the front of that shelf. The space below has a height of 23 inches clearance, also 16 inches deep straight back into the corner and an opening of 28 1/2 inches with the top cupboard door open. Again, as noted by my consignor- he removed the other shelf as the lower of these two spaces is now"perfect" to house a 32 inch flat screen TV as he did. The lower cabinet, also 39 inches across at it's widest point has one fixed shelf 16 inches deep front to back and dividing the 26 1/2 inches in height in two with 12 inches clearance above the shelf and 13 1/2 inches clearance above the base of the cabinet below the shelf.
