DESCRIPTION: Offered is this antique"Chippendale Five Drawer Wall Hanging Spice or Tea Cabinet" Chippendale fretwork in the scroll and scallop design; a dark walnut finish on the exterior; cabinet and drawer fronts appear to be walnut; the drawer boxes are a softer wood. The top nail hole and drawer pulls have a carved double ring design; the lower nail hole might have been added at a later time; both have been rounded smooth. Construction is with pin nails and glue. Cut back drawer fronts. Circa 1800. MARKINGS: Unmarked. CONDITION: Very Good Pre-owned Condition as found. Age appropriate wear shows as: minor scuffing to finish; slightly musty smell to drawer boxes; the nail holes appear to have been rounded out at a later time; other than nail holes. This is a Great 19th Century Southern Pine Antique Wall Cabinet used for Medicine and other small accessories. The cabinet has a nice design with a crest ridge on top. Mid level shelf an the original brass knob. The cabinet measures 14" wide by 17 1/4" tall, the piece is 5" deep. This piece came out of an estate in Linville NC where it had been for many years. There is some normal age related issues here and there but nothing that takes away from the overall form and beauty of the piece. Measures 18" x 12 1/4" in the front. 15 1/2" x 11 1/4" in the back. And is 5 1/4" deep. This piece is in good condition.
