Up for auction is this fabulous 1800's finely refurbished Etagere which would look striking in your french country. Cottage or victorian home. 6 feet 5 inches tall x 4 feet wide This wonderful vintage piece has four mirrors. All original and in surprisingly excellent condition. Some light scratches and marks but nothing that takes away from their beauty. This unique piece has a large mirror in the center above a center shelf with an oblong mirror just under the center shelf and two oval/kidney shaped mirrors. One on each side. It has two small. Decorative shelves, each above the oval side mirrors. This top piece will lift off from the pegs that hold it onto the bottom section. The lower piece has a narrow drawer and six shelves(3 on each side) and a long scalloped shelf on the bottom with four decorative curved legs. It also has two glass ... moreencased doors which open to two shelves. Many hours were spent sanding off black lead paint; then a woodworker repaired and strengthened it. First of all. Let me just apologize for my photos. We have stored the hutch at my in-laws where he is moving and remodeling is taking place. They aren't the prettiest photos but with all that's going on in that house right now, it's hard to find a good spot to take photos. This little hutch appears to be done in old ... morepine and may also be oak as well. You can see some of the knots showing through on the piece. It's a very heavy. Sturdy piece. Glass doors, crystal knobs and awesome old naturally crackled paint give this so much charm. I'm not sure if the paint is original as I do see some green coming through in one door but I can tell you without a doubt this is old paint. The old bead board backing appears to be oak but I'm not 100% sure. Dates back to the late 1880's-early 1900's. I do not see any major issues with the piece. It is structurally sound. It is in great vintage condition. Note a small area on top where you see some blue paint. I would just take a piece of sand paper to it and lightly sand it. The inside would look great painted white. When I bought this I liked the color of the paint but had intended on painting it white or pink for my shop. When I realized how old the paint was and saw all of that wonderful crackled paint on the sides, I decided not bother. The color is a soft beige yellow tone. Very neutral. I'm not just being partial but I think this is one of the prettiest hutch/cupboards I've ever seen.and its all because of its gorgeous honey/gold patina and its incredible character. What with the cracks in the wood, the darkened area, the old wavy glass, the rounded feet, the beautiful crown moulding and on and on. I was told when I purchased this antique hutch that it was made in Wales mid-1800's. I can't verify that but I do know enough about antique furniture to know it is the original finish and hardware and that is a very very old solid HEAVY hutch. It is in 2 pieces. The bottom is like a sideboard with 2 doors, 2 drawers and an open space center bottom. The top has open shelves with 2 center shelves behind a glass door. The wood is hand-carved. It is in very good condition with some marks on the top of the base. The piece measures 91" tall X 61" wide X 18" deep overall. It is a very heavy piece to move even in 2 pieces. I am asking half what I paid for it years ago because I am moving and cannot fit this into my new home. Antique Primitive Pine 4 Door wavy glass Cabinet Hutch Cupboard french country
removed from american foursquare built around 1905. It appears that builder used this original cupboard for parts when house was built. I was in the process of gutting the kitchen and installing new sink and cabinets and kinda discovered the bottom half of the piece had been used for the original sink area. It appears that over the years a number of counters had replaced the original top and bottom half framed in with sheetrock. The top glass cabinet was anchored to the wall and had the original 3 coat plaster around it. I managed to find as much of the original pieces as I could and put the bottom back together with the exception of the top. I used yellow pine salvaged from the house to rip the new top. The top glass portion is 100% original and nothing has been done other than clean and lightly sand the pine to remove old plaster. The piece ... moreis huge, it is 8' 4" long and 7' tall. Top cabinet is 13" deep. Bottom is 23" deep. The weight of the item is around 600 to 800 pounds. All glass appears to be original wavy. One divided into 3 interior sections. Each drawer measures about 24 1/4" wide x 17 3/4" deep x 4" high. The top hutch section has two glass doors with hand-painted medallion-like decor. See photo. Stunning antique Hoosier hutch from Seller's. This was purchased in Indiana. Metal brand plate(Seller's) is attached to the front. I am unsure of the exact age but it did belong to my Great Grandmother. It was originally located in Indiana. The hutch is in 2 pieces so moving it is relatively easy& it will fit into most any size living space. The bottom part has a white enamel counter with a gray speckled edge. The cabinet in the base opens& there is one shelf inside. There are 3 drawers with glass handles. The bottom drawer is metal in the interior& is used for potato storage. There is a small hole rusted through it but it does not interfere with use. The top part has 3 panels of the original amber slag glass with no cracks or chips. The left side used to contain a flour mill but it is long gone. Plenty of storage. The ... moreother side opens and has 2 shelves& on the inside of one door there are little metal compartments. Primitive Antique Chestnut Hutch / Cupboard
You are bidding on a very unique Primitive cupboard. It was made locally here in Northwest Rhode Island by a Mr. Joe Crumbuss. Who has signed his name and info about the cupboard on the inside door( See photo) This Hutch is made from true one inch by up to sixteen inch wide chestnut boards which were removed from Mr. Crumbuss's floor during expansion of his home dated 1747. You can see the original markings from original cut nails which were used on the flooring. The family states Mr. Crumbuss build this in 1875 and used in his eating room. ANTIQUE STEPBACK CUPBOARD 2 part/ top comes off. HARD PINE FROM A NEW ENGLAND ESTATE This Olde Cupboard/ Hutch was found in an old Farm Estate outside of the Shaker Village of Canterbury N.H. It was still in use when pulled out. Construction is Wide board Hard pine. Which shows its age well.The top does come off. The sides are made of single Wide boards- the lower front door is also a very wide board with breadboard ends to stop any warping the back is also wide board The house it was in. Had molding around the room and I guess they thought it prudent to put the same molding on the base of this cupboard- it can be taken off quite easy. My Estimate of date would be late 1700s to early 1800s- make no mistake its an OLDE one There are some traces of paint outside just visible in places- and it is old yellow paint inside. It was made sometime around 1890 and provides a large amount of lockable storage space beneath a stunning exterior. The wood used is solid oak that has a medium brown color. Hunt cupboards were usually used in the dining room to store plates. Silverware, and other dishes. The term“hunt” was given to these pieces because they ... moreusually depict game, fish, or fowl on their carved doors. While this cupboard does not, it does have carved versions of the cornucopia on the bottom doors. The cornucopia depicts a plentiful harvest and is another common theme on antique hunt cupboards. Among the other impressive hand carvings on this piece is the central carving showing a man and woman conversing by a well. The bottom cabinet has the most storage and includes a removable wooden shelf. Above that are two drawers. One of which is felt lined for silverware. Finally, the top section has three doors all which open into the same large cabinet space which houses two wooden shelves. The top and bottom cabinet doors lock and include two keys. The drawers have a lock in between them, but no key for it. Overall this antique hunt cupboard is in excellent condition. There are a few minor marks on the counter top and here and there. Up for auction is very old antique hutch or cupboard. It is a beautiful piece. I believe it to be from the late 1800s. But I can't say for sure. It has been lovingly preserved. There are a signs of normal use. It was appraised at over $6.000 back in the late 1970s. It measures: 72" tall. By 58" wide. by 22" deep. The unit is in two sections: top and bottom. 1800's English farmhouse Pine Hutch / Cupboard,
A great hutch two covered bottom cabinets with latched doors- it was in storage and the top corner of the pediment was broken off but the piece is available and easy to nail back on.This was purchased in the 1980's at an antique store in NYC that specialized in imported English antiques- it is a farmhouse hutch composed of old pine and dates from from the late 1880's- 1900's. 5 door Grand Stepback French Country Hutch. Hand built in southern France circa 1880. Beautiful piece with natural wood finish is highly functional and will provide a unique presence to any setting. Antique - 130 years old - Victorian - Light Blue - Kitchen Cupboard/Hutch
This great old cupboard came out of the little coal mining town of Wilkeson in Washington State. Great Grandma had it at least as far back as 1885. She most likely bought it new in Tacoma around that time. The upper shelves are all solid wood with an oil finish. They are each cut from a single piece of wood about a foot wide. The lower shelves. Behind the bottom doors, have gone missing somewhere over the years. Their replacements are cut from 3/4 plywood and have a varnish finish. All of the shelving is removable.This cupboard is made from fir and some cedar. It features fancy brass pulls on each of the center drawers, and a solid brass knob on one of the lower doors. A very fine antique. Circa 1890's, plain oak open hutch cupboard in dark brown original finish. Two part construction, the case in Jacobean style having three doored compartments, barley twist legs with cross stretcher. The cupboard has three shelves with two groves each for plates. It measures 6'6" 78" tall by 6"6" 78" wide by 20" deep, the shelves 11-1/2" deep. Excellent condition: without chips or cracks, original finish unworn. Includes all three locks, no key. It is a beautiful piece that fits into a small home. It is two separate pieces and can easily be moved. The base measures 45” wide 20.5“ deep 36.5” tall The top measures 43.5” wide 13” deep 29.5“ tall Overall height is 66” The base is complete and can be used as a server. Sideboard. There is a wooden shelf inside the base. The pieces could be used separately or together as shown The backsplash is done with beautiful blue and white French tiles. There is a crack in several of them, but the tiles are firmly in place and it is not noticeable. The glass is glass from that time also and there is a crack in one of the panes, but again, not a problem. The age is probably about 1880 to 1898. Rare Antique 2 Piece Dutch Cupboard with Contemporary Decoration by David Y. Ellinger. Cupboard has great early construction with dovetailed case on top and bottom. Doors have mortised construction. Feet are dovetailed. Hand forged lock on the base and door catch on the top. Hand chamfered on back. Door panels, and drawer bottoms. Drawer slides have been replaced. There are 2 rectangular holes in the top of the base-not sure why they are there but are mostly hidden when top is in place. Some age appropriate minor paint loss. Antique French/German Pine Hutch Local Pick UP Only I purchased this beautiful 2 piece hutch made of Pine while living in West Germany. I purchased it in West Germany on the French border area. It is supposedly from the late 1800’s. I believe it is. The base has three drawers and one shelf inside. It is the original locking device. The base measures 39” tall. 49 ½” wide and 19” deep. The top portion rests on a sold back and two spindles. There are two shelves in the top which gives you three shelves. Counting the bottom of the piece. It measures 48 ½” tall, 11 ½” deep and 44” wide. The overall height is 87 ½” It is in very good condition. There is some darkening on the surface of the base and on one of the sides.
