I think they might have been meant for holding it to a wall or something like that because no damage can be appreciated. This practical country cupboard is a product of early America. Possibly Pennsylvania, having been crafted in the last half of the 19th century. A solid, one piece cabinet, constructed in Pine with a shaped cornice. The upper section is set back, commonly referred to as a stepback, with three shelves behind paneled doors over a large horizontal working surface. With a paneled back. With the expected indentations, scrapes, and other minor cosmetic defects that are associated with antique pine pieces. The construction is solid and the joints are tight. Tongue and groove style doors and back. 2 top drawers. drawers are the nailed style) and have 4 matching metal front handles. Right drawer has a corner of the top left part of drawer missing(see photo) Nice old jelly cupboard latches on the bottom doors! Right knob is worn. Shelves inside have a small square notched out of each of them. Cabinet has general wear from age. Scratches, nicks, some soiling. Antique Rare China Cabinet Punched Tin Pie Safe Jelly Cupboard Wavy Glass
Up for sale is anther great find from our grandparents 200 year old Indiana Farm Estate. We would love to keep this great piece. But need to make room for the next generations, so it is time for it to find a new home. This piece(not sure if it is considered a pie safe or china cabinet) belonged to our great grandparents, and may have been in the family longer, but we have photos of it in their farm house from the very early 1900's. I tried to upload some of these photos, but due to their age and point of deterioration, was unable to. This cabinet can be moved in two pieces. The piece is in amazing condition for its age. The only issue I could find with it is that it looks like one of the wavy glass panels has been replaced, but may have just been re-secured as it matches the other glass panels(see photo 10) The punched tins on the bottom ... moreare in amazing condition, and original to the piece. The piece measures 80" tall x 45" wide x 18" deep(all measurements at widest point) The drawers are dovetailed as well. We are not exactly sure what kind of wood the piece is made out of, but it is very solid. Antique Jelly Cabinet Solid Butternut
Offered is an antique cabinet with dimensions of 42"X46"X20" made from solid butternut. Butternut is a member of the walnut family. The secondary wood found in the back. Interior shelving and drawer side and bottom is probably poplar. Old glass knobs may or may not be original. The drawer has a lock, but alas no key was found. All primary wood is cut from large width wood as there is no signs of it being joined. The top board is 19 1/4" sides are 18" and doors 16" Mortise and tenon joinery is evident in the doors and where sides meet front. Dovetail workmanship on the drawer.
