The whole cabinet is made from quarter sawn white oak and has a very nice finish. It also has three separate mirrored backs that unscrew for transport because in every way this unit is heavy. There is a very an attractive doom shaped door which features the original glass(this is rare to see) The door has a working lock and key. The interior has been relined in a green velvet material with small motifs. The interior has two fixed shelves. The whole of the cabinet stands on a figured burr walnut shaped plinth. This item features a rich yellow to brown burr walnut colour. As it boasts the original polish. It has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. This item would look superb in a variety of rooms from the dining room. The table measures 48 ½ inches or 123 cm high at the back. 30 inches or 76 cm high at the front to the gallery along the top of the table, 24 ¼ inches or 61.5 cm wide across the front, and is 16 ¼ inches or 41.2 cm deep. The front has a drawer that pulls out so that you can fill your display with all your treasures. It has a glass front and top and is lined with light brown velvet. This part is quite decorative with a curved glass display ... moreat the center with a hinged door that opens. On either side of the center display is a small curved gallery. And also along the top. The vitrine is in overall very good condition for its age. The glass top has some surface scratches and some minor scuffs and dings to the sides and edge of the wood. There is a very small piece of decorative molding missing from the front top right. Also on either side the rectangular molding decoration is missing.
