This is a great diminutive hanging corner cabinet with kind of a folk art look. It is solid pine with nice old thick and decorative mahogany veneer. There are several shelves inside which will make for excellent corner storage. There is a geometric design to the paneled door as well as an inlaid wood escutcheon. The drawer is hand dovetailed and chamfered. Although there is only one drawer. It appears to have three due to the three original wooden pulls or knobs. the top is pine as are the rear boards. One of the rear pine boards is very wide at 17" There are new hanging brackets on the back at the top. At some point a block was added so that this cabinet could also be a freestanding unit. It does retain the original lockset and key. Ogee top drawer, bracket feet and original wooden caster wheels. This is a very early Sheraton/Empire transitional piece. It has its original lock(we didn't get a key with it but they are simple to match) We note a base interior shelf was added on the right side but now the left side. If you require one we'd be happy to install that for you. The piece is in very good condition without any veneer chips or other issues. It measures 32 1/4" long, 19" deep and 31" tall. A double scrolled back rest in front of a cornucopia carved rolled arm rest at one end and a deep inward roll at the other. A dragooned seat rail. Open carved pedals and lion claw feet support the lounge in front. Wonderfully turned legs support the lounge in back. The new upholstery is a powder blue damask with a grey/silver design~beautiful. Very solid and sturdy with, in my opinion, no apologies to speak of, this lounge shows only age appropriate ware. A fabulous find is this antique solid quartersawn and straight sawn oak cabinet with handsome designs of inlay on the door and around the drawers. Two of the three doors are false. However, the drawer area encompasses the entire area under the main cabinet and the bottom. The door has a fantastic inlaid shell design. The classic canted corners help display how beautiful the patina is on this old cabinet. The door to the inside is paneled and is chamfered on the inside. There are several shelves. Height to the top = 42" Width across the front = 24 3/4" Depth is 19" in the middle and 20 1/2" on each rear side. Canted corners are 4" each. Area under front of cabinet is 1 3/4" This corner cabinet as always beena corner cabinet and built as such versus being a hanging corner cabinet made from the top of a standing ... morecabinet. TWO PIECE LATTICED DOOR FEDERAL PERIOD CONCH SHELL INLAID MAHOGANY CORNER CABINET Bay Colony Antiques is delighted to offer you this extremely fine two piece 19th Century Mid Atlantic States Federal solid mahogany Corner Cabinet with triple Conch Shell inlays. It is accented by a broken arch pediment with highly carved decorative rosettes and a flame finial. A Thirteen(Celebrating the original Colonies of the United States) pane lattice worked top door and three highly scrolled lolly pop shelves. Its top and base side molded panels are each string inlays. The base cabinet stands on very well done Ogee profiled bracket feet with double doors. It has 32" long. 15" in depth and 81" tall. Each side right& left side measures 21" in depth. This is a very sweet period corner cabinet in very good condition with a most desirable ... moresize and scale. Victorian Mahogany Corner Mirrored Etegere with Marble Top Circa 1890's
A very unique Victorian corner etergere. This piece is done in mahogany with a marble top. The sides are trimmed in rope twist accents both on the bottom and the top display area. The bottom storage area has two curved panel doors with rich graining. One side can be locked in place with a slide stay. The other side locks. There is one shelf inside the storage area. The top has two display shelves and a top shelf, the backs of the display area are mirrored. There is a larged turned finial at the top and applied carved brackets at the base and each shelf. Just a very rare unique piece with great carved accents. Dimensions are 76" tall to top of finial by 24" deep at each corner and 34" wide from corner to corner.
