Aside from sheet music or records, it is also a great storage place for scrapbooking paper, newspapers, pictures and CDs/DVDs. It is in good condition, with some scuffs on the front. It was originally a keyhole. Beautiful Inlay on front door. Down the legs and across the back plate. This cabinet does have apparent scratches and chips. Please see photos) The front left foot on the Queene Anne Leg has broken off. The number 444 is stamped into the wood on the top back plate and the wood back. Inside shelves are original to this cabinet and do have some scratches and chips. The cabinet itself is solid and does not have any cracks. The photos are not greatest. My camera was having one of its off days. There is a lot of glare and was not able to feature all of this cabinet. I will offer more pictures with your request. This antique Larkin Co. Buffalo, NY cabinet has been stored for years originating from an 1800's farmhouse that was torn down in 1970. The original Larkin Brown Paper label is still attached on the back and it has not been refinished- it expresses directions for the care of the cabinet and identifies the piece as coming from Larkin Co. Buffalo N.Y. Factory no. 15 and a premium item produced circa 1895. This particular piece has a latch door opening to 4 shelves inside. Claw feet, and hand painted on front with mandolin, flute, leaves& ribbon.I am told that it was a music cabinet"to store sheet music next to a piano, or records that people used in their parlor, next to their piano or Victrola" It stands 37" tall, 20" long and 15" at widest width(bow design) It has some vintage wear spots on the finish topside. ... moreOne leg has split wood which needs to be re-glued-I have the piece I have not found a piece of furniture like this anywhere, and Larkin went thru a few production phases ultimately failing during the Great Depression after a period of great success in earlier years. There is some nice details, carved claw feet in the front. single drawer on the bottom, dovetailed. Very sturdy.The pictures don't show the good color. the last two pix shows it better. Measures 19" wide. 13 1/2" deep and 40" tall. The inside has side slots supports for the wood shelves which are removable; it needs 2 shelves to be complete. The top edges shows some small slot holes where it likely had a gallery going around the edge which is now long gone. Otherwise fine clean solid sturdy condition with no damage, just minor age wear better than expected for an 1890 era music cabinet. The tiger quartersawn oak wood is beautiful and desirable, much nicer than the much more common walnut or mahogany. Please try to make a local pickup, we are located just south of Boston MA.

Antique Victorian 1890 Art Nouveau Era Mahogany Sheet Music Cabinet By Larkin- label on back shows made at Larkin factory no. 15. Measures 44 1/2" high to the top of the mirrored backsplash; or 36 1/2" high just the main body of the cabinet; 20 1/4" wide and 16" deep. The front legs are curved Queen Anne style. The mirror piece is beveled glass with serpentine shaped frame. The interior has a total of 6 slots- 5 shelves plus the base. The mahogany veneer is in great condition with a fine aged patina.
