Uniform look, but the flash obviously makes ... morethe piece look significantly lighter in certain places as well as amplify any imperfections. There are a few minor bumps and scrapes as shown in the pics. The very top has some light"surface" graffiti. See pics. I say surface because they are not deep and could be removed with light sanding. Probably some naughty church boys from the past. The average person cannot see the top when standing in front of the piece. I am 6' 2" and I cannot see these marks without standing on a stool. I believe there may have originally been two additional carvings on the two vertical boards toward the back on each side. I can't say for sure. But there be appears to be some light wear in these locations. The piece is signed in the back I believe M.I. Belgium B.G.E. The only reference I could find to this signature is MI Belgium Ministre which published some religious books. The front opens and the back is on hinges so both sides open. From auction records. The lift off top securing a two part base divided by a sliding locking action with four graduated drawers to one side and a cupboard door enclosing two drawers over a base drawer to the other side. It is on fitted platform base with side carrying handles. Each drawer is lacquered black and the bottom drawer on the right hand part has a removable lid as you can see in the photos.
