Vintage Mid Century Modern THONET Bentwood Arm Chair Eames Era Set Of 4
This is a great set of Thonet Bentwood chairs. They are in good condition for there age. The one chair has some writing on the arm as pictured and all of the chairs show wear. This wishbone or ribbed style is very rare. Three of the four chairs are tagged the fourth is missing. The chairs are 30 and 1/2 inches tall- the seats are 17 inches wide-19 inches from front to back- and the arms are just under 23 inches at the chairs widest. Please ask any questions before bidding. Vintage Thonet Gull Wing Side Arm Chair Mid-Century Modern Molded Plywood
Great look and it is sound and solid but has been painted. It looks like a red primer first then brown on top.It was done many years ago as there is wear to the paint. Also there is a 1/16" deep by 1" wide by 5" long piece of veneer missing from the furniture grade plywood that this is made of. It is at the base of the one arm and it is common to have a problem there as the veneer wants to buckle when they steam form them in to place. It usually blisters and cracks there. If you are going to strip it and take it back to the original blonde finish you'll need to replace it with the natural plywood veneer strip. If you are going to repaint it you just paint over top. Fill it with wood filler or just patch it in with any veneer strip you can find. It sets very comfortable. The finish is a medium, to medium-dark brown. 30 1/2" tall, 18" deep, 18 1/2" wide and weighs 16 pounds. Condition: Normal wear for this vintage. Two small nicks on the edge of the seat. Some small scuffs a round the edges. Wear to the finish on the back rest. Several scuffs around the base of the legs. Sturdy and comfortable. Overall, good to very good condition. This is a Vintage Thonet Style Bentwood Rocker with original cane back and seat. I purchased new in 1965 in Birmingham. Mich. furniture store. Chair has been with me ever since. Extremely comfortable. Measurements floor to top of back = 39" seat depth =17 1/2" seat width = 17 1/2" from front curve to end of rocker = 41" This type of chair was first created in England during the Victorian Era. Has been popular ever since. Seems to go with all styles of decor. During the 1960's, this Bentwood Rocker was considered a Modern piece and was extremely popular. Originally this chair was stained walnut with natural rattan seat and back. About 5 years ago I thought it would look great in black. So I spray painted the chair. For auction is one of three identical Thonet bent wood armchairs from the late 1950s/early 1960s. It is in very good condition. The wood frame has the sort of wear one would expect from age; most noticeably on the rounded part of the armrests and in the scuffs and scratches on the legs(pictured) Many of these scratches and scuffs would disappear with a little steel wool and Howard's Restore-A-Finish. However. The beautiful, plum-colored vinyl is in great shape for the most part; it's still shiny and the stitching is perfect, though there are some nicks on the backrest and a light abrasion a few inches long on the front of the seat(pictured) It is also missing one of the upholstery tacks on the back, but that is easily replaced. A fabulous pair of Mid Century/Danish Modern Chairs by Thonet Industries. They are super heavy and solid chairs-the main base: back and seat are one solid piece of bent plywood. Legs and frame balance are also wood. Perhaps teak, I am not sure. This is a Vintage Thonet Style Child Size Bentwood Rocker by Salvatore Leone in Modena. Northern Italy, from the 1950's or early 1960's. It features a double curved bent beech wood frame and high quality craftsmanship. The frame has the original black paint and natural woven cane seat and seat back. Condition is excellent with no damage or repairs. There are some cracks in the seat cane(see photo 6, lower right) but the seat is strong and tight. The size is approximately 32 inches front to back, 17 inches wide and 32 inches in height. The seat itself is roughly 14 inches by 12.5 inches and is 13 inches high from ground level. There is a small piece chipped out of the front top back(see picture) Also looks like someone tried to fix a crack on bottom the piece that connects bottom rockers(see picture) Some hardware is oxidized. VINTAGE BENTWOOD THONET ROCKER / ROCKING CHAIR IVORY1950'S SOLID NO CREAKS!
This is a 1970's Thonet-style. Adult size, bentwood rocker finished in enamel paint that was originally an ivory color. After acquiring the chair at an estate sale and cleaning it thoroughly, it is ready to rock. The finish has yellowed over the years, though most of the yellowing could probably be removed with light steel-wool. There are various chips and scratches in the finish-please view pictures carefully. The chair could definitely be re-painted. The chair is incredibly solid! To test. We had a 6'4" 216 pound man try it out and he rocked for several minutes(didn't want to get up because of the soothing nature of the rocker! No creaking or sounds of strain from the rocker! It does not move at any of the joints if one applies pressure to opposing angles. It rocks perfectly without any creaks, squeaks or other sounds of ... morestrain on the frame. The caning is also completely sound, with no sagging or worn spots, nor any stains. The only markings on the chair are on the underside of the seat where"Made in Poland" is imprinted in the rim. I believe that taking the chair apart for shipping. Or possible jarring during shipping, could possibly interfer with the structural integrity of the chair, so the chair is available for pick-up by buyer or buyer's agent(freight company) or, we could drive within 100 miles of Fremont, OH, to deliver it@ $.50/mile round-trip. Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Detroit are some of the cities close to within the 100 miles. Buyer could also meet us within 100 miles from our home to pick up.

Up for sale are 6 beautiful Michael Thonet style cafe/parlor chairs. Although these chairs are not 1800's originals they were made in Poland by the ZPM Radomsko company which was started in 1881 and uses original Thonet equipment to steam bend the wood to shape the chairs. These chairs are in great shape cosmetically and are quite comfortable. There is no damage to the upholstery. Some of the finish shows wear but there are very few noticeable scratches or chips. I would prefer local pickup in Kenilworth. NJ 07033- I am willing to deliver up to 100 miles for the cost of 75 cents per mile as long as paypal payment is made in full before delivery. Up for sale is a Thonet Style Design Bentwood Chair from Hungary. I bought 4 of these chairs when I was stationed in Hungary. They are all different- I thought it was interesting to have 4 chairs around the table of the same bentwood style with different design elements. I haven't used them very much because I have a kitchen table and chairs. These chairs were around the table in the craft room and mostly used when I was sewing. I'm moving soon and have to downsize. I don't know the exact age of these chairs. I think they are from the 50s. This chair is in very good used condition- some scuffs and scratches as expected from its age but no damage.
