Pair of vintage MCM Ingmar Relling Westnofa Siesta Chairs ---Midcentury modern
Up for sale is a beautiful pair of vintage low-back Midcentury Modern Westnofa Siesta Chairs. They are a beautiful orange/brown leather with black wood frames. They are in very good condition for their age. Once chair has a spot that looks like someone tried to make a stain repair and did not match the leather(see picture) The other chair has no major stains but does have a button that has come loose on the bottom cushion(I do have the button and this should be an easy repair) The canvas on both chairs is in very good to excellent condition with no holes. Rips, or tears. I believe once chair must have received more sun or wear because it has faded into a slightly different color. The leather cushions are very soft with no major cracking or peeling. On the back of the cushions once chair has an elastic piece that holds the cushion in place ... morewhile the other has string that matches the canvas webbing. I am not sure which is original/ correct but this is not really noticeable when the cushions are in place. It is becoming difficult to find a pair of these chairs in good shape. I looked for a long time before locating these but unfortunately we have no room for them after remodeling. These chairs can be shipped but will most likely need to have the frames taken apart to ship pretty reasonably. The chairs can be put back together with the allen keys in about 10 mins a chair. Set of (6) Milo Baughman Thayer Coggin Dining Chairs MCM
This is a great set of 6 Milo Baughman for Thayer Cogan. Arm chairs. The chairs retain there orginial yellow, chenille fabric. The chairs are on the classic, chrome frame. The fabric is in very condition, considering they are dated from 1975/76. There are no stains. But 2 of the chairs have small tears in the fabric. They are about 1/2" in length, but since they run along the chenille, they are not terribly noticiable. Three of the chairs have there orgional Thayer Cogin label. See pictures. And two of the chairs also have small tears in the bottom lining. It does not hang down, or can be noticed, unless you flip the chairs upside down. The welds and screws are all tights and in good condition. However. The chrome does have some rust/pitting. I have not tried to polish, touch-up or repair the chrome in any way. And, I suspect that they ... morechrome could be polished and touched-up. But, I am not a furniture expert or have I ever done any furniture restoration work. So, I am a bit out of my eliment in this regards. Please see pictures and make your own judgements regarding polishing, touching-up or rechroming requirements. Also note, there are no slides or feet on the chairs, the chrome on the chair bottom is rather rough. These chairs were used in our dining room. Along with the matching Milo Baughman dining room table and floating server, in our last house, which was a MCM architecture home on Sarasota Bay. suspect the chrome rust came from our close proximity to the water. There's literally not a dark stain or rip, fraying or pull on any of the four(4) chairs of the entire set and on either of the first pair of chairs being offered in this particular listing. The surface of the teak is still very crisp and clean, without dings, abrasions or evidence of abuse. The surfaces are almost pristine and quite close to original condition. The color is that of frozen honey, with hues of amber, at times in the sunlight appearing 3-dimensional and like petrified, prehistoric amber. They in fact, glow. The matte natural fiber cord seating provides a nice visual contrast to the teak's coloring. This was a set of Poul Volther for Frem Rojle side chairs that were clearly well cared for by their previous owner and maintained. There was only some settled dust in the cord weave of the seating. Missing the original tags that were attached to the bottoms but we are almost positive that these chairs were either made by either Knoll or Gavina because you can tell that the hardware is old(See photo#8 showing a close up of one of the bolts) History: The chair later known as the"Wassily" was first manufactured in the late 1920s by. The German-Austrian furniture manufacturer most known for its bent-wood chair designs, under the name Model B3. It was first available in both a folding and a non-folding versions. In this early iteration, the straps were made of fabric, pulled taut on the reverse side with the use of springs. Black and white fabric were available, as well as a popular ... morewire-mesh fabric version. The Thonet produced version of the chair is most rare, and went out of production during World War II. Most of Breuer's early designs were produced under license by the Berlin based manufacturer. Standard-Möbel, Lengyel& Company. Also have one additional matching chair listed up for auction* Beautiful pair of vintage modern barrel chairs in the style of Milo Baughman. Chairs swivel and lightly rock. Both chairs are solid and mechanically sound with cushions being firm with no sagging. Pretty pastel ikat pattern on cushions with the frame being a light grayish blue in color. I believe the material to be a part silk and linen or possibly 100% silk but am uncertain. Upholstery is in nice vintage condition as pictures show. Minor vintage wear. No rips, tears or funky odors. The actual seat and back cushion are in mint condition on both chairs. The solid color frame does show some minor wear at arms and base and some very light fading to bottom. I personally do not feel they need reupholstered if material, pattern and color is to your liking. Could use a cleaning to the ... morebase/arms but again, I personally don't feel it's totally necessary. One chair does have two small red stains on the front side of bottom base, please zoom in on second picture, left side chair. Wooden base's could be refinished.
