Vintage Industrial Hamilton Cosco Swiveling Mid Century Office Chair Machine Age
This is a vintage Cosco office chair. It has great bones and a lot of potential for someone who knows how to touch things up. Chair adjusts at head rest. Seat front to back and seat height. It rolls great. It is upholstered in a perforated vinyl so there is no cushion dust escaping from the top vents here. It does have wear to the metal(aluminum? base with chrome accents(scratches and surface rust) but the vinyl on the seat looks good. The metal may be touched up with spray paint if desired and the upholstery also can be replaced if desired. This is an early Cosco office chair that says Patent Applied For and also has an acoustic sound board in it. It is Model 25S. I am not sure of its date. This chair was in great condition when I bought it. I did not like the same old grey color so I used some real nice vinyl paint and used several coats of it on the seat. I kept the chrome as is and used hammered silver on the rest. Real nice chair. Measurements are.34" tall. seat is 16 1/2" x 13 1/2" and 3" thick. Great condition 1940's or 50's? baby bouncy seat/chair by Hamilton Cosco. Stylaire! It is made of metal and the seat is a brown starburst pattern made of vinyl. The vinyl is separated near the head/top of the seat but it appears it can be sewn back together, the vinyl is in great condition, no holes. There is rust on the tray and on the metal pieces on the side of the chair. It has 8 sliding beads and a bell between the beads in the middle. It is a very sturdy piece and would be a great addition to a baby or doll collection! The chair has great colors and is clean, it is marked Hamilton Cosco Stylaire along with numbers on the bottom of the tray, see pics, There is one piece of rubber missing on the bottom of the seat that would rest on the floor, the other 3 are intact. Fantastic retro industrial office chair made by Hamilton Cosco Inc.s office furniture division in Gallatin. TN. This rolling, swiveling office chair is made from lightweight metal, probably aluminum and has a wonderful emerald green faux leather seat and back. There is a company tag on the underside and the propeller shaped legs have been reinforced with sound-reducing cardboard. Overall. The chair is in good used condition. There is some wear and scuffing to the metal, especially near the feet and a few small spots of wear to the edges of the seat. Please examine the pictures for more details. This chair stands 33.5" inches tall and measures 25" wide across the base. The seat measures 16.5" across and 14" deep. Full seat top and backs are great, show nice shine, no tears, and are not brittle. Paint is original, shows scratches and light surface rust. Seat back to the green chair is missing one adjustment screw knob. Both have wheels and move freely with no problem. Bottom of legs still include the original cardboard inserts for dust and noise. Both also are stamped on the bottom with the 15S model number and have their manufacturer DO NOT REMOVE tags. The green chair is the only one that still has the company foil sticker. Legs have a 26" width. Seat top measures 17" wide x 14" deep. Seat back measures 14" wide x 7" tall. If you look at the photos. I adjusted the brown to sit at the lowest height of 18" and the green is at 20" max seat height. A beautiful. Solid built pair of chairs that will last you another lifetime of use! Great if you live or work in a warehouse loft environment and are into the industrial office design such as this! Elvis and Bing Crosby were singing to the American people and Hamilton Cosco was turning out this iconic desk chair on August 19. 1957. The date is stamped on the underside of this steel gray chair with Kelly green upholstery in near mint condition. The rails behind the backrest and on top of the footrests have paint loss due to rubbing over the years. This style chair was hugely popular in offices throughout America, but most of them were discarded or destroyed. This one survived beautifully and is ready to continue on. The seat measures a cushy. Comfortable 17 x 14.5 inches. There's a little nick on the upholstery on the edge of the backrest, otherwise the upholstery is in fabulous condition. The backrest will be removed for economical shipping. It slides and snaps back into place, no tools necessary.
