The cherry veneer is in very good condition with a beautiful grain and the chair matches the ottoman perfectly. The leather is in really nice condition and does NOT have any tears. Rips, or holes. The leather shows very mild wear from use with few minor scuffs. T he lounge chair is in extremely good condition. Structurally solid and displays beautifully. This is an iconic chair that displays well in any setting. The ottoman is also in very good condition as you see. Chair has a couple of chips and scratch from use. But overall very good. Eames Sofa Compact and certain Eames table bases. These glides have a rubber insert set into a curled stainless steel cap foot. Original parts can make all the difference when undertaking a restoration project. Specification: 1 9/16” foot diameter. 17/32" pad height, ¼ x 20 threaded stud 9/16” long. For sale is this vintage 1960s Charles and Ray Eames Lounge Chair(670) and Ottoman(671) in original Rust Red leather with Brazilian Rosewood shells. M anufactured by Herman Miller prior to 1971. This magnific ent piece has many early earmarks and features. Including; the highly desirabl e 100% down and duck feather padding/stuffing. Rubber shock mounts and molded-plastic backings with(2) grom mets and(2) subsequent snaps. I am the proud 2n d owner. Having purchased it from a dealer in Michigan several years ago, having brokered it from a n ar chitec t's Palm Springs. CA estate. Who had apparently custom ordered the piece new sometime in the late-60s. This all original example certainly displays y ears of love and comfortable enjoyment. As the leather's creases have begun to expose the untreated material beneath. But for me. That is ... morewhat attracted me to this absolutely gorgeous example. I really appreciated the unrestored patina, which result antly created a fit tha t's like that of an worn in baseball mit t. The bases are in excellent shape. Both of which retain all of the original scre w-on rubber foot glides. All of the shells are in excellent structural condition with no scratches nor significant chips. The insides of which are all factory stamped"301. The original white and black HERMAN MILLER Zeeland. M ichigan labels are both long gone. With only the silhouette of where it was once attached being visible. The round Herman Miller badges have also fallen off from the incredibly dry heat of the Palm Springs desert weather. Eames Lounge Chair by Herman Miller. Distressed condition. Though it is solid and completely usable. Really like a worn pair of jeans. It may look rough. But. When you sit in it, you are sitting in an authentic Eames Lounge Chair by Herman Miller. Very comfortable. Be the first in your neighborhood to sport the worn out Eames Lounge chair. 2 Panels are 1970's rosewood. Middle Panel is a 1990's Herman Miller walnut replacement. All panels have been dyed and sanded and bleached twice. Base separates into 2 pieces. Stem and Star. Though completely load bearing. Armrests are worn through. Shock mounts were screwed through at one point. But. They were replaced in the 90's. And are currently load bearing. Seat cushion zipper separating at side. Though. This may actually be fixable. Vintage August 1978 Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman 670/671 Brazilian Rosewood
NO RESERVE AUCTION. Vintage Charles and Ray Eames 670 Lounge Chair and 671 Ottoman matching set in beautiful Brazilian Rosewood and Leather. All Original from August 16th 1978. It's all there. No repairs. I am the third owner. The leather is perfect- soft/ comfortable with all buttons intact. Shows minimal wear and no smells. Stains,rips, picks, nor tears. Never exposed to smoke. Identical Original Herman Miller stickers on the bottom of both pieces. The shells are gorgeous Brazilian Rosewood which have never been refinished. The chair has two small chips along the bottom edge that don't show from the top of the chair(see photo# 6) The ottoman also has two small chips along the lower edge(see photos# 10& 11) There are no more gouges nor deep scratches present. I found a couple of tiny scratches on the back of the chair see photo#4) ... moreWhich should disappear with a little Scratch Cover.
