Set of 4 authentic Michael Thonet Crocodile chairs in original condition. One chair is missing the seat part and has been replaced with a regular piece of wood. For the age of the chairs they are in excellent condition. They are all(with the exception of the one missing the seat) stamped on the bottom of the seat"Foreign Made. and on the inside rim of seat the wood is stamped with an"M" They have normal scratches and chips in the wood from age. The back of one chair has a piece of wood missing(seen in picture) and another one the lower ring of bent wood below the seat is coming unjointed. They are a little wobbly but are safe to sit in. Set of six Marcell Breuer Cesca chairs in maple and brass. 4 arm chairs and 2 side chairs. Some minor wear and tear that is to be expected for 30 year old chairs. One side has discoloration on the bottom tubing and loss of some of the plating. See the pictures for details. They are in great condition with only one pin hole that I can see. 2 of the chairs have something sticky on the seat that I did not want to try and remove. And as can be seen were in the process of having the old finish removed, where you can see some sanding off of the old finish. The wood is beautiful where the finish has been removed and when completely refinished you would have two beautiful chairs, there are a few nicks hear and there, on the legs and two on each back from stacking the chairs back in the day, which would be gone once refinished. The chairs do not have any cracks to the wood and are structurally strong. The chairs will be broken down and marked where each piece would be reassembled. This is a beautiful and rare matching pair of Thonet Ply-Bent chairs designed by Bruno Weill. They are in very good condition with moderate paint wear and some minor edge defects. There is a dark stain on the seat of one. There is some splitting in the seat but they are solid and strong. They could use repainting and the coat that is on it now would make a good base to paint over. They measures approx 21" wide. 21" deep and 32" high at the back. To save significantly on shipping the chairs will be disassembled if it can be done safely. The seats have some separation and will likely be in sections when they are removed from the legs. DESCRIPTION: Exceptional and rare set of eleven Thonet stacking conference lounge or dining chairs. Possibly designed by Massimo Iosa Ghini. Use 10 and one as a chair as parts. Reminiscent of George Nelson"Aluminum Group" designs. These chrome finish frames are accented with aluminum back bracing(magnet sticks to chrome section but does not stick to aluminum section) The arm wood insets look like maple. The chairs stack. The back rest is attached only at the arms offering a minimalist and sexy sculptural quality. These chairs are very solid and sturdy. At first, I thought the upholstery was vinyl. Upon closer inspection the quality and finish were so good that I took a seat off the frame and uncovered the back of the"fabric" last photo) which shows the suede graining on the back of the leather seats. Chairs have Thonet ... morelabels. I'd guess these are 1980's era. CONDITION: Very well constructed. Heavy and sturdy. One chair missing one foot pad. One seat back has green paint splatters. Up for sale are 6 beautiful Michael Thonet style cafe/parlor chairs. Although these chairs are not 1800's originals they were made in Poland by the ZPM Radomsko company which was started in 1881 and uses original Thonet equipment to steam bend the wood to shape the chairs. These chairs are in great shape cosmetically and are quite comfortable. There is no damage to the upholstery. Some of the finish shows wear but there are very few noticeable scratches or chips. I would prefer local pickup in Kenilworth. NJ 07033- I am willing to deliver up to 100 miles for the cost of 75 cents per mile as long as paypal payment is made in full before delivery.
