Vintage. Mid-Century Modern, Bentwood Chair. There is no label or maker's mark but it looks like a Thonet bent plywood chair from the Eames Era of the 1950s. The finish is a medium, to medium-dark brown. 30 1/2" tall, 18" deep, 18 1/2" wide and weighs 16 pounds. Condition: Normal wear for this vintage. Two small nicks on the edge of the seat. Some small scuffs a round the edges. Wear to the finish on the back rest. Several scuffs around the base of the legs. Sturdy and comfortable. Overall, good to very good condition. Vintage Thonet Bent Wood Lounge Arm Chair Mid Century Modern #1
For auction is one of three identical Thonet bent wood armchairs from the late 1950s/early 1960s. It is in very good condition. The wood frame has the sort of wear one would expect from age; most noticeably on the rounded part of the armrests and in the scuffs and scratches on the legs(pictured) Many of these scratches and scuffs would disappear with a little steel wool and Howard's Restore-A-Finish. However. The beautiful, plum-colored vinyl is in great shape for the most part; it's still shiny and the stitching is perfect, though there are some nicks on the backrest and a light abrasion a few inches long on the front of the seat(pictured) It is also missing one of the upholstery tacks on the back, but that is easily replaced. Authentic Thonet Bent-wood rocking chair
Beautiful authentic Thonet Bent-wood rocking chair. Year of production approximately between 1869-1930. My extensive research verifies that this is an original and not a reproduction because of the"Made In Poland" stamp that is burned into the wood. At the time this chair was manufactured. The factory had switched from etching the THONET name into the back of the chair, to using a sticker that would of normally been placed on the under side of the chair. Unfortunately that sticker is no longer present, but the dimensions and weight are all accurate to the original style and size of the authentic chairs. It is in great condition, a few imperfections have been shown in the pictures, otherwise chair is very sturdy and still has many more years of use. The rocking chair has a bent Chrome tubular frame with bent wood caned seat and back. The chair measures approximately 24 inches tall x 14 inches at its widest point x 27 inches long. The chrome tube frame shows slight surface scratches and minor spots of surface rust, and the caned seat and back show normal wear to original finish. A fabulous pair of Mid Century/Danish Modern Chairs by Thonet Industries. They are super heavy and solid chairs-the main base: back and seat are one solid piece of bent plywood. Legs and frame balance are also wood. Perhaps teak, I am not sure. Rare Pair 1950's Bruno Weill for Thonet Bent-Ply Arm Chairs Mid Century Modern
This is a beautiful and rare matching pair of Thonet Ply-Bent chairs designed by Bruno Weill. They are in very good condition with moderate paint wear and some minor edge defects. There is a dark stain on the seat of one. There is some splitting in the seat but they are solid and strong. They could use repainting and the coat that is on it now would make a good base to paint over. They measures approx 21" wide. 21" deep and 32" high at the back. To save significantly on shipping the chairs will be disassembled if it can be done safely. The seats have some separation and will likely be in sections when they are removed from the legs.
