So when you fold it up it needs to be pushed to the side a little bit to fit. I'll leave the restoration to the new owners of these awesome chairs. You are viewing a set of oak wood and wicker leg-o-matic folding chairs from 1961. These have been kept very nice and are in exceptionally good condition. The wood is oak with the same color of wicker on the backing. The seat is a light beige in color and believe that it is a type of vinyl. The folding collapsible bars are all in good condition and works great. The measurement for the chair in standing position is as follows: 32" tall and 16" wide the seat is 16 1/2" wide at the front and 14" wide at the back. And are easy to open and fold down smoothly for very compact storage. They have a beautiful finish with a great original shine and color. And other than some very minor scuffs, you'd be surprised they weren't bought new last year. The upholstery is a simple neutral egg shell vinyl covering with no scrapes. Tears, or holes. One has the complete original how-to-use instruction tag. Because these were produced before content tags were required, they only had one tag on it. You can see the tag that's remaining on the chair, in the pictures I took. The one-touch mechanisms are all metal. And all operate smoothly, as they should, and without ... moreany difficulty. These chairs were clearly treated with care throughout the years, and have none of the problem signs you usually see on furniture like this that's typically kept in moist basements or garages. Leg-o-Matic chairs began production in the 1940s til 1970s and became favorites for the Airstream trailer owners and city dwellers. Where space is always at a premium. When production ended. Demand was still high enough, that in the 1980's a company began manufacturing copies to satisfy the market. They are no longer produced today. Each seat is nicely sized and comfortable. The seat itself is 16 1/4 inches wide at the front. 14 1/4 inches deep, and 14 inches at the rear. The Chair back is 32 1/4 inches tall. And when placed against a wall, it measures 19 1/4 inches from the front of the seat to the wall. When folded. The chairs collapse down to a compact 19 inches by 16 1/4 inches by 6 1/4 inches, which makes them easy for storage. LEG-O-MATIC VINTAGE FOLDING CHAIRS WITH RATTAN / BAMBOO BACK MID CENTURY
Nice set of four vintage Leg-o-MATIC folding chairs. Wood legs and back with upholstered seats. The upholstery has been redone. They are in good condition there are a few things that I will point out. Three out of the four are a little tough to fold up. The legs need to be pulled inward in order for them to fold all the way down. There is a crack in one. See picture. The bottom is stamped Nov 1970 so these chairs are 44 years old. Super estate sale find! Set of four LEG-O-MATIC folding chairs in very nice vintage condition. It is my understanding that these chairs were originally designed for people to use with their Airstream trailers. How cool and handy would these be for use with your trailer. Cabin or guest cottage; or as extra seating at home for guests during the holidays or while entertaining? Chairs all work great and are very sturdy. Chairs do need a bit of cleaning, but will leave that up to the buyer- as I like the vintage look they are sporting! Each chair is approx. 34" from floor to top of chair back. Seat is approx. 17 1/2" from floor and is approx. 13 1/2" wide. Chairs fold up nicely to easy storage and transport.

Seats have some indentations from being folded up. They have some normal scratches. Dings most of which can be polished out. The caning is tight on all chairs and they have been taken care of. The mechanism for folding the chairs works on all chairs, they do need to be sprayed with WD40 or some type of oil, but all work. Chairs have normal ware for their age app 50+ years. Here are 4 Legomatic folding chairs with caned backs for you! These take up little space when folded. And were popular for Airstream trailers. Each one has good caning, but needs to have the vinyl seat cushion recovered as you can see. This should be easy enough, but I'm leaving it for the new owner so that s/he can choose their own covering. Two of the medallions in the backs are missing, but these should be easy enough to find at a place like Michael's or AC Moore so that you can have 4 matching ones. Each chair does fold and unfold; a couple need a tiny bit of help but I'm sure this can be adjusted. Each chair weighs only 10 pounds. The arm rests are a little loose but not bad. The upholstery is worn and one chair has a split where the upholstery meets the wood. The rattan backing on the chairs is all intact and in great shape. This is a unique model, you rarely see the vinyl on the seat backs. The seat backs also have a nice stitched design. The set is in good used condition, a few chairs have some issues as follows: one chair has a split in the vinyl seat(see last photo) Another chair has wood wear, its color is lighter than the other chairs in certain areas, these are shown in the photos too. The rest of the chairs have some wear from being used for so long. This includes scratches on the wood and vinyl.
