I am not sure if it has ... morebeen refinished or not as it appears to be in original condition, but it is great for the age. It has four dove tail drawer going down the left-hand side and four going down the right-hand side. The center drawer has round dove tail as expected from the Eastlake era. It has burl walnut trim on the fronts with an ogee bevel edge around the routed top. It has a black felt interior on the writing surface that is nice. The finish on the sides is amazing. It has panel sides, rope twisted molding, detail cast brass hardware, escutcheons are intact. There are no keys or locks. The desk is 48 inches wide, 27 inches deep and 30 inches tall. The space for your legs is 19 inches by 25 inches.

This fine 19th century desk features its original brass Eastlake hardware with the key working all the locks on the drawers. The large flat desk top has vintage green felt on the writing surface with a center drawer below with divided compartments and four locking drawers on each side of the knee hole area. This desk is equally lovely on all of its sides so therefore could be a free standing desk in the middle of a room or office. For your consideration, this wonderful solid Walnut Victorian C-Roll Top Desk with Burl Accents(Circa: 1880) This handsome Desk weighs approximately 240 pounds and measures 45 ¾” in total height, 30 ¾” in height from the floor to the top of the writing surface, 48” in width, and 29” in depth. The details on this desk are understated and elegant. The C-roll top is graced with fluted moulding on the sides and opens to reveal the interior compartment. The interior compartment consists of seven storage slots and two small fluted drawers along with two ebonized pen/pencil holders and a green felt writing surface. This desk is in beautiful condition considering it's age. I have used it for over 30 years when it was sold to me by my brother-in-law who inherited it from his Lt. Colonel Uncle. It has been in the family since the 1890s when it was manufactured and purchased here in the United States. A truly lovely item. Original late 19th century(gorgeous from every angle) carved walnut desk. The original brass pulls are well intact. The drawer pulls with ease and it has a lock with no original key. The finish wood at the top and sides of the desk is a fine tight burl veneer. The desk top has been re-covered in its past with a tapestry with chrysanthemums and/or peonies. There are holes, pulls and wear into the tapestry. There is some surface wear in the wood at the corners and areas where one would expect from an item that has seen continued use. It is all intact& strong. At the top are a few very small pieces of burl veneer missing. but the tiny spots are old and smooth from, as above mentioned, continued use. This is an Eastlake secretary from the late 1800s. I think. It's solid wood construction, mostly walnut with walnut burl panels, very tasteful Eastlake geometric details, original wavy glass and beautiful original patina. Three adjustable shelves in the top book case; drop-down writing surface with original felt, two drawers, file bins and pigeon holes; one fixed self in the base. The two locks work with a replacement key, but they are a little sticky, and one of the rosettes that covers the writing panel pivot is missing. Measures: 42 x 85 x 11.5 top, 20 base. I bought this from a private party in DC about 20 years ago and now I'm downsizing a bit, so I hope it finds a good home.
