It is a stunning piece of furniture. It measures 76" tall and 36" wide. I think the wood is oak but I'm not sure. It is in excellent condition. The key that I think goes with it opens the desk but not the cabinet but I don't see any other keys. One of the wooden pegs for the shelves are missing. Constructed out of solid Mahogany from an unknown time and location. Originally purchased as a gift to my Grandmother from her Husband. My Grandfather, many, many years ago. This piece of furniture is in excellent condition and truly is a wonderful looking piece. A simple yet elegant design that easily coordinates well with many different décor styles. Display shelving is showcased by three beautiful glass front cabinets with their original curved glass windows and a gold gilding decorative trim. Glass is in excellent condition. No chips. Cracks or sections of gilding missing. There are a total of three shelves within the display window. Lower portion has pull-out secretary desk that has a working lock and key. This secretary has been with us for over 40 years. Sadly. It is time to downsize. It is a graceful and lovely piece of furniture. As far as I know(since this is not a family piece) the curved glass and mirror are original to the piece. We have a key but it is probably not original. However, it does lock and unlock all doors and drawer. There are 4 adjustable shelves in the curio cabinet. There is a crack in the left side panel about 12" long. It is not lose and does not separate. We suspect that is was glued prior to our ownership. Dimensions are 72" tall, 39" wide, 14" deep. Please ask any questions you may have. I believe the glass is the original glass because it has a look about it that does not compare to modern glass. It has a lift and slide piece of glass at top. Key holes. Pull down front. Compartments. Curves. Nice hardwood. I hope someone who appreciates the true beauty of antique furniture can make use of this for many years to come.
