For sale is a 1950s 2 arm industrial Jielde multi angle articulated machine ... morelamp. The aluminium elbows have been polished. The lamp is in working order and comes with 2.4 metres of new flex but not the plug as it is a French one. It is in very good used condition with some very minor signs of use to the reflector's surface. The reflector has its original high temperature painted surface and still has the bulb wattage/voltage sticker intact. The switch is in the base. I have included the lamp's weighted vehicle brake disc base in the sale. These lamps are very sort after and nice examples like this are becoming difficult to find. The photos don't do it justice! The lamp takes a Standard Bayonet cap bulb(B22) which are available at all DIY outlets. Bulb not included. The maximum wattage is 150w. Jielde lamps were designed by Jean-Louis Domecq for direct mounting on machine tools and for use in workshops. The lamps have now become particularly fashionable for use in loft style apartments and in homes generally as desk lamp/floor or wall lamps. So, hence I have fitted a trailing flexible lead to make the light more useable in the home. I have displayed this light using a vehicle brake disc which provides a solid base to show a typical method of mounting the light. Heavy sprockets. Hardwood- anything heavy will do the job. The light can also be fixed to a wall if required using its mounting base/bracket which has 3 holes in it. Although the light isn't heavy, it will require a solid wall and sturdy fixings to mount it as the movement required to adjust the lamp to the desired position will put stress on the mounting. It measures 60”w x 35”d x 50”h overall. The roll top locks with a key when closed which also locks the drawers as well. It comes with the original Corbin key and lock. This desk is a multi-piece unit that separates into 6 pieces, so it can easily be transported in a mini-van, pickup or SUV, for relocation; also the two bases(lower drawer area) are on mounted wheels, so when it is completely assembled, the desk can be easily moved around the room. This desk ... moredesign is absolutely fantastic! Each base unit has a pull-out writing shelf above the drawers. For additional work space. There are 8 drawers in the lower section; 2 large bottom drawers each 10”h x 12”w x 33”d, and 6 smaller upper drawers each 3”h x 12”w x 33”d. The open section between the drawers, for a desk chair, is 29" wide. The upper section under the roll top contains 24 cubbyholes with drawers, that each have a solid brass pull opener that will also accommodate a label; I have never seen another desk with that many drawers with solid brass openers like these. This very nice late1800s school desk will look great anywhere in your home. The bench seats folds up. The desktop has a hole for inkwell and a groove for pencils. Very nice ornate wrought iron legs add to the beauty. Inscribed on the leg are the patent dates from 1881. 1890, and 1891. Sorry for the poor quality of the photos but the words are much clearer than these pictures show. There are many uses for these school desks as a decoration or actual use in your house. Vintage wood inlay lap desk w/ leather writing pad and glass inkwells
Up for auction is a vintage looking wood inlay lap desk. Inherited from my father's house and I have no idea where he got it. Just know that it sat in his den holding stamps. Bills etc.before it came to me and served the same function in my office. Have now moved my office to home and have no more space for this useful and very attractive piece. It could be an antique Victorian lap desk as my father was always heading to auctions of all sort, and they were all the rage in Victoria's time or it could simply be a well done but more recent reproduction of a Victorian piece. I really do not know. Measures 13" wide x 10" tall. The front angled panel flips backward to reveal an inner compartment with seven separate sections. Two glass ink wells(one is missing its original brass lid) a pencil/pen compartment and a flat embossed ... moreleather covered table for writing on. Brass hinges and nice inlay work to the centre of the front panel and the four corners. There is a vertical crack measuring 7" to the veneer on the front of the lap desk. There is also a 3" crack on the upper back side. Neither of these appear to be getting any wider and neither affect the functionality of the desk. Someone was throwing away this antique piano so I took it and converted it into a desk. I'm moving to Switzerland so n ow you can own this one-of-a-kind piece. I guarantee you won't see anything like this ever again. It was a ton of work to dismantle. Move, refinish and reconstruct so I will never do it again! Antique School Desk Ward Ware Buffalo NY 1881 Vintage School Desk Youth Desk OLD
PLEASE READ ENTIRE AD AND VIEW ALL PICTURES! You are looking at a Couple of Primitive Antique School Desks. THEY ARE BEING SOLD BY THE PIECE. BUY BOTH FOR A SET OR JUST ONE WITH 1st CHOICE TO 1st BUYER. These are old late 1800s early 1900s. I believe the 2nd desk(pics 8-12) older than the 1st one pictured(pics 4-7) The 1st desk has more adjustment than the other and just appears to be newer with more adjustment options: entire desk and seat can be raised or lowered and seat has a pitch adjustment. It is cast 1881 but that is a patent date and I believe It is closer to early 1900s. The 2nd desk definitely appears older with 1881 stamp and I believe is late 1800s with the only adjustment is the pitch of the seat. Both have ink wells so they are on the older late 1800s to early 1900s. Seats fold up on both but the desk folds down on the newer ... moredesk. Both are made by the Ward Ware Co. Buffalo New York. I love the old patina of the wood. All castings of the maker and patent dates are cast into these pieces. Possibly they are real close to the same age but just different models. I like the fact that they both have decorative cast Iron frames although each one has It's own unique look. I believe they look good together. They both have a number cast in them, the newer has a"4" and the older has a"1" possibly row seating numbers. I would prefer LOCAL PICKUP but I will ship. It will be expensive and calculated by your location and they will be BROKEN DOWN COMPLETELY for shipping. There will not be any combined shipping since each desk will go into a separate box. Here's a super nice 1880's school desk. The school desk is called"The Fashion" and is made out of cast iron and wood. The school desk from The Sidney School Furniture Company of Sidney. Ohio from the late 1800's. The slats of the seat appear to be different types of wood, but they also appear to be original. The desk top has a single hole for an ink well. The leg castings are beautifully ornate but not over the top, with the best part being The Fashion prominently cast on the top of the legs. This desk has held up well for more than a century with some minor scratches and a couple of small"artworks" on the desk top.
