The finish of the paint is still in remarkable condition, though they still need a thorough cleaning. Many of the pictures show the shiny surface of the paint, which was manufactured by DuPont. The metal surface was prepared and sprayed with a rust proofer by the Parker Rust Proof Co, with their product called Bonderite. SIMMONS Steel furniture is specially finished with Hi-Bake DULUX for outstanding beauty and durability. Overall condition is good. The drawers are in good condition. With the top drawers showing a little rust on the inside. The drawer guides could use some graphite to restore the smooth fluid movement of opening and closing. Each piece has it's own forgivings. I tried my best to display in detail the extent of the abrasions. Dents and scratches. Examine the pictures carefully. The doors on the bottom open out to reveal the large inner space. This door is lockable and comes with a key. The drawers at the top open out cleanly. Then of course there is the fantastic glass fronted top half again with keys. When this opens out you can see the shelves are adjustable so you can store various items. Being glass fronted its a great way to showcase your decorative pieces. Such as porcelain, bronzes and other collectibles. Of course books also look great in this piece. At the top is the classical pediment. This fine piece of furniture is a design classic and will last you for generations and hence makes for a great heirloom. I am not sure about the carving. The desk has 3 leather panels on top. The desk is approximately 54" wide. 28" deep and 30" tall. It has 8 drawers. The bottom right drawer is a deep file drawer. The desk is in very good antique/used condition. At the front of the desk it may have been repaired at one time. Custom foundations are not anymore expensive than conventional quality bedding. If you are within range of our Western Massachusetts or Harrisburg Pa(including anywhere in between) galleries this is something we can assist you with through our own custom bedding maker. These beds are absolute gems that we are proud to affix our name to. The beds are 40 1/2" wide. 81 1/2" long and are appointed with 60" tall posts. The interior dimensions of the rails are 36" wide and 76" long, The foundations can be obviated for bunky boards(this requires affixing a small unobtrusive frame device on the inside of the rails that will support the mattresses) by using 3/4" plywood. We prefer to see these jewels remain untouched and they receive the custom foundations but this is your choice. This is a very early cherry corner cupboard. It is pre 1840 and retains original hardware. Latch, scroll apron and feet. Has square nails and hand hewn boards in the back of the cupboard. The feet have not been shortened which is unusual. One piece of moulding is missing(top left) The cupboard is one piece but is not too cumbersome too move with two people.
