1957 VM-1000 Voice Of Music Console Phono Reel Stereo HiFi 3 Lift Tops Orig Mic+ When will we see this model again fresh from an estate where it has been safely sitting for years. Purchased new in 1957 for $1.025.00 this baby was well respected over the years. The record player was replaced at some point. Also the original leg system was replaced with 8 heavy duty casters. Else all original including some accessories. When powered on we discovered the amp and receiver play FM and AM but weakly and with static and some hum. We did not connect an antenna but the set has a built in one however our warehouse is not good for reception so to get any stations was a good sign. The record player spun slowly and static came from the needle but we did try to get sound from a disc. The tape deck buttons spun the reels forward and back but we did not ... moreget sound from play. The record button made the magic eye light up and talking into the included microphone made it blink back and forth. We did not test the clock or timer system. Generally the whole set needs a good review. Stereo Tube Radio Tuner. Reel to Reel, Console Phono. Radio and face light works. Tape deck and"Magic Eye" working. Record LP turntable looks replaced(no name) spins intermittently, heard sounds when touching needle. Did not see light on the front cabinet light under logo. Some finish use wear to top of cabinet. One hinge is missing, one is not working, base has 8 rolling wheels that work well. Cabinet in overall very good condition. Marked: V-M Model 1000. Voice of Music Included is the original VM Microphone that plugs into tape deck and some tapes and an original reel to reel accessories box with miscellaneous wires and parts.
