It is fully functional and very sturdy! I noticed that one of the screws is missing from the top portion of the writing desk so the top is a tiny bit loose with a slight wiggle. There are some pen marks and paint marks on the desk- you know how kids are! There is a 4 in split in the wood on the top writing desk. There are scuffs and scratches from use/storage. Vintage Old School Desk Fold-up Bench Wood Chair Cast Iron Adjustable Legs Ink. One piece is the bench seat with a desk and cubby behind it. The other piece is the back of a row bench with no desk behind it. The bench/desk has adjustable height legs. In great shape. Each foot has three holes for mounting. The hole area broken on two feet. Still has two holes. Wood is tongue and grove on seat back& bottom, in good condition. Desk top is cracked a bit in one place(see pic) I can deliver up to 500 miles of Charlotte NC for a fee. For your consideration this fold down wall World Atlas which measures 28.5" x 20" closed and 28.5" x 40" when folded out as you see it in most of the photos. The front and back covers are hard pressed cardboard and the pages(9) are thick paper. The same as in the roll-out maps you experienced in school. There are copyright messages on each page without dates but the current events highlighted on the front are"2 astronauts down safely" Severe earthquake strikes Alaska" both from the mid 60's. Also, the Israel map shows the Sinai Peninsula still belonging to Egypt so I believe it is pre 1967. The covers have metal grommets on the corners and recessed in so that it could be hung in either direction with just one set of wall hooks, depending on which direction the map on the page is presented. There are ... more9 pages with the covers giving you a total of 9 fold-out full sized world views. The one not pictured, due to the 12 photo limit is the map showing China, Japan, Mongolia, and Korea. The back cover shows both sides of the moon with the names of each area ie. ANTIQUE SCHOOL DESK WOOD TOP& FOLD UP SEAT W/CAST IRON LEGS THEODOR KUNDTZ CO. Up for Auction is this Vintage Antique Children's Wood and Cast Iron Desk by Theodor Kundtz Co. of Cleveland. Ohio. The desk is used and is around 100 years old. The desk is in good condition for its age. It has never been refinished(beyond whatever may have been done while as an active school desk) and it shows evidence of student usage in the form of paint rings and some splatters on the desk top surface. There is a wood gouge inside on the book shelf below the desk top(possibly from a bored young mind? The desk has the hole designed to hold an ink well and a pencil tray stop. An unusual addition is the Boston Bulldog pencil sharpener mounted on the right side of the desk possibly toward the end of it's life in some school. One of the blades was broken ... moreoff the sharpening mechanism and a pink crayon is firmly stuck in the hole. Adding a“splash of color” The cast iron legs show signs of surface rust or patina. The desk is very sturdy and solid, and is screwed to its original runners. Embossed on both side of the cast iron legs state“Eclipse#3 Theodor Kundts Co. Clev. OH Part No. 8156” The overall dimensions of the desk is approximately 21 1/2” wide. 29” long including the Seat in front and 29” tall. The book shelf is 9 1/2” in depth, 18” wide and 4” high. Many use these as decorative displays for plants. Antiques, and crafts. But, if you want to play“school” you will need a chair because you are suppose to use the desk behind this one as the chair. Take a look at my other listing. I have another school desk from ASCo and a child's Roll Top desk listed. For as long as I could remember these desk were in my parents basement with the Roll Top first and the 2 other desk behind it. This allowed for 3 desk and 3 chairs. World War II era fold-out Sunday School Nativity. United States of America. These were popular presents at Christmas given to Sunday school students. And also given(with candy, of course) after Christmas eve programs in Church. This particular one was printed in the United States, in 1942. GLORIA IN EXCELSIS DEO! at top. Palm trees on wither side. One of the three Kings is on the left. On the right are shepherds. Then the second of the three kings near center post. The third king is to the left of second layer. There also is Mary and the Baby Jesus with sheep. Joseph. With cow and ass is in the back on third layer. 9.50" in length. 3.50" in depth. In very good condition. There is nothing wrong with this paper nativity. These items being listed today are in very good shape. They are vintage. Not reproductions. I guarantee that.
