Unusual quartered oak filing cabinet bookcase combination----14707
This is a pretty unusual cabinet-not sure if I should call it a file cabinet or a bookcase; vintage antique office furniture piece either way. Cabinet is quarter sawn oak and has two sliding glass doors like a Danner bookcase would have. Three drawers, and two blind doors in the base. A stepback model piece with the bottom deeper than the top. Note the bullnose top and the paneled sides. We have refinished this piece and it has a smooth and even finish. Both the top glass doors and the bottom doors each have an adjustable shelf-4 in all. The interior of the drawers are 11.75 wide, 10.5 deep, and 3.25 high. Brass pulls on each piece-this piece is a stackable item much like Globe or Macey made with each piece sitting on top of the other. Overall size of the cabinet is 41.5 wide, 64 high, and 17 deep. Beautiful patina with 9 shelves. 7" across on the smaller and 10.75" across on wider side shelves. All original except for top left hinge. All old wood nails all over construction. 1.75" between shelves. 9" deep. 20" long, 10.75 wide, 17" high. Nice wood grain. Did not want to spoil the quality. So only lightly dusted.

Folks, Here is a very nice four drawer oak filing cabinet from the turn of the century. The decal is gone. But I'm quite sure that it's a"Globe" This beauty has been professionally refinished. The overall dimensions are 17 1/4" wide. 28" deep and 51 3/4" high. The inside dimensions of each drawer are 12"wide. 10" high and 24" deep. The medium honey oak finish is beautiful and the 100+ year old patina changes with the light of day. There a couple very minor"scars of time" that add charm and authenticity to this piece. It is oak beneath the green paint. Three drawer. Each letter width, but taller than a regular manila folder. Not sure what it was designed to hold. Drawer fronts are hinged and fold forward.
